CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Sales & News – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – October 9, 2025

Hi Folks, there is a lot of news, sales, and things going on, so I’m jumping right into it.

NEW! One-of-a-kind negatives from classic Rifts® titles, signed by Kevin Siembieda. I added something like 15-20 Rifts negatives to my Ebay store (see store details toward the end of this mailing), but they blew out the door. I will try to put up another dozen or two in a day or so and more every week as I can till Christmas. They look awesome and are suitable for framing.

Negatives are becoming recognized as very rare collectibles and archival pieces of history. This is due, in part, to the negatives from the first TMNT comic being displayed at some comic conventions, the fact that I have been selling negatives in my Ebay store, as well as giving them away in Surprise Packages for a number of years, and most importantly, the fact that RPGs and the original art from them are now sought after by collectors and being sold by legitimate auction companies like Heritage Auctions (HA).

Rather than offering negatives from one entire book at a time, I have been offering select pages from several different books with cool art images I think people might want. Most recently that included art from Mindwerks, Lone Star, and Rifts Dark Conversions. Next will be a smattering of Rifts Japan and Cyber-Knights. More to come soon and throughout the weeks ahead. Enjoy.

SALE! Don’t miss Palladium’s Horror Sale just in time for Halloween. All horror PDF books on sale as well as many of the physical books. Ends October 24th. See details below.

SALE! Nightbane® Through the Glass Darkly Audiobook! This terrifying and fun sourcebook is full of dark magic, scary character classes, 3 full adventures, and more. It is now becoming an audiobook. AudioRPG’s Backerkit crowdfunding campaign is in full swing. See details below or go to their campaign page to learn more. Audiobooks present an entirely different flavor and moody atmosphere than when you read the book yourself. Give it a try and see for yourself. Ends October 24th.

Join us for a Legion of Myth live chat with Kevin Siembieda and Jeremy Colantonio – Sunday, October 12, at 2 PM Eastern Time. The subject will be Palladium horror settings: Nightbane, Dead Reign, Beyond the Supernatural, and running horror RPGs. Just in time for Halloween. But until then you can watch or listen to our last chat in which we used the Bundle of Holding offer to hop across the Rifts Megaverse®. It was very fun.

NEW! Palladium YouTube videos on gaming

If you haven’t seen any yet, you need to check out a bunch of these timeless video chats. Each talks about one of Palladium’s RPGs, gaming, and history. I’m so glad folks are loving these bits of Palladium’s origin story and creative process.

• Meet Sean Roberson: Part One – available now!

• Rifts RPG Part 4: Vampire Kingdoms – goes live today, October 9

• Rifts RPG Part 5: Atlantis – October 23

• Coming: Watch for interviews with other Palladium creators including Sophie Campbell, John Zeleznik, Freddie E. Williams II, Carl Gleba, and MORE. They join existing chats with Ramon K. Perez, Matthew Balent, Sean, and others. Check ‘em out to learn more about the artists and writers behind some of your favorite RPG books.

Please help me and Sean save lives via BRIC – Ends October 15, 2025

We know finances are tight for many of you during these uncertain times, but this is your chance to make a genuine difference in the world, protect families, and save lives. All proceeds go to the charity. Even a $10 donation helps. In fact, if we could get a bunch of Palladium’s thousands of fans and customers to pledge as little as $10 it would make a profound difference. If you can afford it, please do so. This is your chance to make a real difference for people who are largely forgotten by the outside world. It’s not often that you know every penny goes to the people in need like this one.

Sean and I support and endorse this charity because we know the organizers and know that our efforts make a direct and immediate difference in the lives of the children and families of the BRIC compound. Our efforts have helped this compound in the African Congo to build walls and schools to fend off Warlord rebel forces and slavers. The BRIC compound has become a safe haven for local families. A haven that provides food and shelter as needed, and a school to educate children and teach teens and young adults a trade so they can become self-sufficient. These life-sustaining improvements could not happen without your prayers and financial assistance since 2022, but our crusade to save and improve the lives of the people in the region is far from complete.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is currently facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. People are displaced, starving, and homeless, making safe havens like BRIC necessary for survival. Please join me (Kevin Siembieda) and Sean Owen Roberson by helping in any way you can. Your donations, small or large, will save lives.

The link to the current webpage is listed below. Gamers unite and help if you can. The fundraising campaign runs through October 15, 2025. Thank you. – Kevin Siembieda & Sean Owen Roberson

We are happy to report Palladium’s estimated shipping costs were pretty close for most, only a bit higher than anticipated. NEW! Nightbane^® Through the Glass Darkly Audiobook Crowdfunder

It’s October and time for friendly Halloween frights and fun. To that end, AudioRPG is crowdfunding the Nightbane® Through the Glass Darkly sourcebook as its latest audiobook offering. This is one of my (Kevin Siembieda) favorite sourcebooks and I also enjoyed the voice actor they chose for this one. The sourcebook delves into the dark and transformative magicks of the Fleshsculptor, Cybermage, and Mirror Mage. It includes 50+ magic spells, plus charms, talismans, Living Pathways, three full adventures and ideas for many more. Don’t overlook this deep and scary sourcebook.

We are always amazed that the spoken book version always sounds so different and dramatic.

Audiobook Highlights:

• Professional voice actor.

• The audiobook narration is moody and compelling. (We love it.)

• Fun and relaxing. A very different experience than reading the book yourself.

• Excellent for revisiting the world of Nightbane.

• Excellent for Game Master prep and generation of ideas.

• An immersive experience you will never forget.

• Whether you’re familiarizing yourself with the setting or rules, searching for ideas, preparing your next campaign, or just enjoying the Urban Fantasy world of Nightbane, you’ll find the audiobook a worthwhile experience.

DriveThruRPG.com

300+ RPG products on DriveThru – a dozen unique world settings – one game system – endless possibilities. No other game company offers game worlds for so many different genres. Best of all, learn to play one Palladium RPG and you can play them all, because each uses the same basic core rules and combat. There are differences, but the fundamentals are the same. This also means you can bring characters, villains, monsters, powers, magic, weapons, gear, and adventure ideas from one setting into another or mash them together!

In addition to PDF titles for entire game lines like Rifts®, Palladium Fantasy®, Heroes Unlimited™, Ninjas & Superspies™, After the Bomb®, Beyond the Supernatural™, Dead Reign® (zombies), Nightbane® (Urban Fantasy), Rifts Chaos Earth®, Systems Failure™, Splicers®, RECON®, The Rifter® #1-85, and others, there are Game Master and player aids, character generators, paper minis, map packs, and FREE Previews of books like Creature Feature™, Dead Reign, Coalition Manhunters, Titan Robotics™, Rifts Bestiary Volume One, World Books, Dimension Books, and more to give you a glimpse of what’s in the book. Enjoy endless adventures across the Megaverse®.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Palladium collectibles as well as action figures and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are on sale!

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display.

Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints. And they are on sale right now!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

An exciting Fall is underway

Though you can’t see it, Palladium Books has been a whirlwind of activity.

• TMNT & Other Strangeness shipping logistics are first and foremost (shipping to Backers in November);

• TMNT related matters (there are so many aspects of this expansive project);

• Quiet book production (four titles are actively being written and illustrated);

• Orchestrating and coordinating artists and writers for future products;

• Plotting future books and crowdfunders;

• Dealing with contracts and licensing;

• Writing and releasing Palladium’s Writer’s Guidelines;

• Convention appearances;

• Marketing and advertising;

• Making YouTube videos;

• Appearances on other podcasts and YouTube channels (Glitterbois, Legion of Myth, and Turtle Tracks are just three of them – podcasters, reach out to us);

• Weekly Updates and sales;

• Improvements to the Palladium website;

• Interviewing and recruiting new printers and manufacturers;

• Prep for the Christmas Surprise Package offer – always a herculean endeavor.

• And a bunch of stuff we can’t yet reveal. All of it building a bigger and better Palladium Books.

We have all been working hard and in constant motion this entire year. Everyone from Caleb in the warehouse, Alex in support and research, Jeremy and Wayne on logistics and infrastructure, to me and Sean envisioning and putting everything in motion as well as remaining the core creative force at the company. And you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. This is only the groundwork for a new era of Palladium Books.

You’ve heard a lot about the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux books and seen digital images, but it won’t be real until you hold the books, dice, etc. in your hands that you’ll get the full impact. You will love ‘em, all of it. What many of you do not realize is they are the signpost for what’s to come from Palladium Books in the future. The easy to read layout, subtle format changes, rules updates, full color interior art, the standard of quality, and range of different products you see in the TMNT RPG rewards, is the future of Palladium. While current books in the pipeline remain black and white, you’ll start to see more and more color hardcover books. And we mean exquisite, next level color, powerful covers, and content on par with the Ninja Turtles RPG books you’ll be holding in your hands next month.

Thank you for your love and support. Right back at you.

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Halloween Sales & More – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – October 3, 2025

A sincere thank you to all who supported the five Rifts Mega-Bundle of Holding offers. What a deal, eh? Now you have material for a dozen winter Rifts campaigns.

Palladium has been offering Rifts sales all year long as part of our 35 year celebration of Rifts, but making all of September Rifts Month and truly special wouldn’t have been possible without the Mega-Bundle of Holding offers. A tip of the hat and our thanks to the good people behind the Bundles of Holding.

Last Sunday’s Legion of Myth live chat was enthusiastic and fun. We used the Bundles of Holding as a starting point to explore the Rifts Megaverse® and talk about a dozen different Rifts titles. I loved it. There’s been so much going on here at Palladium, however, that we forgot to tell you about it in advance, sorry about that. It was recorded and is available to listen to on the Legion of Myth channel right now. Note: Our next LoM chat will be October 12 and feature Nightbane and other Palladium horror RPGs. Plus our thoughts and tips about running horror settings.

More Social Media Fun

Palladium Books is enjoying growing support and excitement over the Palladium Books YouTube interviews with J-M DeFoggi, me, and other Palladium luminaries. The feedback has been glowing, and not just from gamers and Palladium fans, but from fellow industry professionals. I’m constantly surprised by who is tuning in to these chats. All tell me how much they enjoy the behind the scenes insights, the snippets of gaming history (it helps that I’m an old guy), the positivity, and friendliness of these videos. Count on many more throughout the year and into the next one.

We have a number of fun topics and new people in line for interviews, including chats with Sean Owen Roberson, Carl Gleba, Sophie Campbell, and other Palladium creators.

I’m also trying to schedule interviews with The Glitterbois and Turtle Tracks podcasts. If you’d like us on your show, reach out via the Palladium Help Desk. We’re juggling a lot so if we don’t respond, please reach out again. Thanks!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Time to game

Our hearts go out to those of you who have fallen to, or are facing, oncoming layoffs and possible firing from your jobs. Try to stay positive and frosty. Please don’t slide into depression, hate, or disillusionment. I’ve been there and I know how difficult that can be, but you can do it. Life is hard and it can be challenging at times. Stay strong and hopeful. You will survive this. Count the small blessings and appreciate them. And if you have your health, family, friends and loved ones at your side, those are huge blessings.

We gamers have an ace up our sleeves when it comes to finding escape and release from our troubles. You guessed it, gaming. We can escape into imaginary worlds of triumphant heroes and bold adventurers. Best of all, we get to explore those worlds with friends/family and likeminded gaming maniacs. There’s nothing more stress relieving than to win against wicked monsters and villains in a role-playing game. Sure, most games can bring about a certain amount of escape and stress release, but nothing like the immersive worlds of role-playing. RPGs call upon you to use your imagination and cleverness like no other game. Those epic campaigns, teamwork, and heroic triumphs make us laugh and our hearts sing.

Go to RPGs to find at least temporary relief from your real world troubles. Laugh heartily in the face of danger, crush villainy, rescue the innocent, and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow heroes – gamers all.

– Granite State Comic Con was fun. What excited us most was being able to show off the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux books to the multitude of Ninja Turtles fans who attend this event. Everyone loved the full-color RPG books as well as the Black White & Red editions, the GM screen, and Mutagen Green Dice. Several Turtles fans told us they don’t play RPGs but were going to buy them to add them to their collection. They were blown away by the beautiful full-color artwork, TMNT comic strips, and tribute art all created exclusively for these RPG books. A lot of people took pre-order flyers resulting in a bunch of pre-orders being placed this week. Awesome.

The 14 hour drive up and back was scenic and the weather sunny, cool, and perfect. We enjoyed chatting with TMNT artist friends like Jim Lawson, Steve Lavigne, Eric Talbot, Fero Pe, Luis Delgado, and other pals like Nick Kay, Peter Porcaro, Brandon Loizides, Doug Shute, etc. Of course, we also made a few new friends and acquaintances, including a few talented artists and writers who may be getting added to our roster of freelance talent.

– Palladium’s Style Guide and RPG Writing Template now available. This is exactly what every aspiring writer who hopes to do work for Palladium needs to read and adhere to in order to get their work seen and considered for publication. Read Sean Roberson’s Closing Thoughts for more details.

Please help me and Sean save lives via BRIC

We know finances are tight for many of you during these uncertain times, but this is your chance to make a genuine difference in the world, protect families, and save lives. All proceeds go to the charity. Even a $5 or $10 donation helps. In fact, if we could get a bunch of Palladium’s thousands of fans and customers to pledge as little as $5 or $10 it would make a profound difference.

The link to the current webpage is right here. Gamers unite and help if you can. Thank you. – Kevin Siembieda & Sean Owen Roberson

CLOSING THOUGHTS FROM SEAN

Palladium Style Guide and Writing Template

Howdy. It’s been a while since I wrote anything for a Weekly Update, so I’m excited to draft up this message for all of you – our loyal fans – to read. Palladium Books is in an exciting place right now as we prepare for the arrival of tens of thousands of books and accessories for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness RPG Redux Editions. Trust me when I say that nobody is more anxious to see these books shipped and in the hands of backers than me, Kevin, and the rest of the Palladium team. There will be an official shipping timeline update coming soon, so stay tuned to the Kickstarter page.

Speaking of the Palladium team, I’m pleased to be able to report that every single person on the team from veterans like Alex and Wayne to newcomers like Caleb and Jeremy are all doing fantastic work. Kevin and I have never been prouder. From the new webstore (with PDFs and Starter Bundles!) to other soon-to-be-announced items, we are working hard to bring you the new books and products you crave.

As I have been finishing up final editing and layout work on Rifts Bestiary Volume 2 and shepherding Rifts Chaos Earth: First Responders through production, I also prepared a new Palladium Style Guide and RPG Writing Template. If you’ve ever wanted to write for Palladium Books or wondered how to structure your RPG adventures, these are the resources you must follow.

When I first started writing professionally there were often unwritten rules and best practices that I would bump into. Fortunately, many of the folks I did contract work for had solid resources for writers – a tip of the hat to our licensees at Pinnacle Entertainment Group on this account. To avoid such headaches for fans who want to write for Palladium through our unique fan-sourced publication of The Rifter, I decided to provide that and more. (FYI, we plan on bringing you Rifter #86 in 2026 – the numeric correlation was not intentional.)

Jeremy even helped me create a Google Doc that we will be sharing with you to help you easily format and submit your articles. Especially since we no longer accept other unsolicited manuscripts, if you want to write for Palladium Books, writing for The Rifter is the way to get your writing in front of us and our fans!

As Kevin mentioned in last week’s newsletter, the world is a tough place right now and the economy is challenging. Please remember that everything moves in cycles and we just need to keep the good news in mind and persevere through the rough times until we get to the other side. My hope for those of you who, like me, find real meaning through artistic expression – writing, visual arts, design, etc. – is that these new resources will help you focus on your creativity.

Stay positive. Roberson out.

UPDATE! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness RPG – The Palladium crew has been working hard on the logistics for shipping the Kickstarter rewards. I am happy to announce that everything has been loaded onto containers and will be shipping to the USA and our overseas shipping partners on September 27. We shall provide all the details in a formal Kickstarter Update soon. Backers, that means you should get final instructions and shipping costs in a few weeks. Cowabunga! We can’t wait to get these beautiful books and rewards into your hands.

New on the Palladium Books YouTube Channel: Rifts® Xiticix Invasion. Kevin Siembieda (that’s me!) and J-M DeFoggi discuss the backstory behind the creation of the Xiticix. This is just one of something like 30 origin stories about the creation of Palladium’s many RPGs, worlds, and characters.

Granite State Comic Con September 18-21 – visit the Palladium Booth

Sean Owen Roberson and I (Kevin Siembieda) are guests and part of at least two panel talks. We’ll be driving up with Jeremy Colantonio to sell RPG books and to show you the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux books, dice, Game Screen, that will be coming your way later this fall. All will be on display for you to look at and preorder. PLUS we are bringing a good selection of RPG books to sell and sign. Titles like After the Bomb (suitable for use with TMNT RPG), Heroes Unlimited, Ninjas & Superspies, Rifts, and others. We’ll have a small selection of art prints too. We are always happy to sign the books you buy or bring for us to sign from home. Palladium Books is booth #5 & #6 in the Artist Alley right next door to the Gaming Area!

Please bring us books from your collections to sign for you. It doesn’t matter whether it’s TMNT, Robotech, Rifts, Fantasy or whatever, we are happy to sign ‘em (no charge) and chat a while. Also get Jim Lawson and other Mirage Studio artists to sign your RPG books, especially ATB titles. Note: We don’t know the next time both Sean and I will be back at Granite State Comic Con or any convention on the East Coast, so please take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Don’t Despair

There are forces at work screaming at us from every platform telling us that our world is evil and ugly and consumed by hate, selfishness, bigotry, and cruelty. That we are flawed and terrible. Those forces want us to feel hopeless, terrified, angry, and violent. They want us to believe we are lost and failing every single day. They want us to feel isolated and lose ourselves to despair and hate.

Please don’t believe it. Not for one minute.

Are you a bad person? Are your friends? Your family? I’m going to wager the answer is no. You and most of your friends and family are kind and loving. You are hardworking good people who try to be honest, caring, and empathetic with everyone. Awesome! Way to go.

Do you think you are the only ones? No! There are millions upon millions of people just like you and your family and friends. Please never forget that. Please don’t let the cries of divisiveness and pervasive vitriol make you so numb or angry that you forget this truth.

Cling to the truth that goodness and kindness are not dead. It’s alive in you and me and most people. Continue to love and dream. Hold tight the people and things that bring you peace and joy. Push the fear and hatemongering out of your hearts and minds. See the beauty and wonder in this magnificent world and our incredible lives. Be happy and bold in your resolve to be a source of compassion and positivity. Be the light you want to see in the world. And remember, you are not alone. We are many.

Life is hard and none of us are perfect. We experience painful and scary challenges. We’ll all know loss, disappointment, and cruelty. It’s inescapable. But life is also beautiful and good. It’s filled with wonder and wonderful people. You just need to look for that wonder and remember how to see it.

I have known hardship, poverty, deep loss and sorrow. I’ve also been subjected to hatred directed toward me at various times of my life. I miss my beloved Kathy every day. I miss my dear friends Erick Wujcik and Kay Kozora, Keith Parkinson and Rob Justice, my Mom and Dad, and many others. I survived cancer and I live with diabetes. I could be bitter and angry, but I choose to be grateful and joyful. I wake up every morning glad to be alive. I walk out my door and I marvel at the beautiful blue sky, picturesque clouds, the symphony of birds, the scampering squirrels, the lush green trees, brilliant flowers, a cool breeze, and I think to myself with a smile, “The world is amazing. Life is beautiful. I’m glad to be part of it.”

Please don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Don’t let anyone steal your joy and gratitude or make you feel small and unimportant or consumed with anger and hate. See and appreciate the wonder and splendor of our challenging lives, and don’t let anyone crush your spirit.

I work hard at not letting the negativity, hate, and harsh words blind and deafen me to the beauty in our world. The beauty within YOU. Unleash your imaginations with RPGs and whatever else brings you together with friends and brings you joy. Revel in it. Share it with others. Shout your joy to the world and ignore the negativity. Focus on the good and the positive.

How do I hold onto joy, positivity and hope? Because I see it all around me. I see it in you and the many people I meet every day. I see you and appreciate you. I see your light, your beauty, your courage, and goodness. It gives me strength and hope, and it brings me joy. We are united in our love of games and literature and our shared humanity. Each one of us has the power to be the light in the darkness. Let us try to do so, because together we are many and we can light up the world. I try to be a force for good.

I fight with myself to be the light even on my worst days. I hope you join me in helping to light up our world in whatever positive ways you can.

So please let your imaginations, kindness, and awesomeness shine for all to see. Be happy. Be positive. Be hopeful and strong. Thank you for being you. I’m proud to know you. I love my life. I love my friends. I love you all.

News Briefs

Please help me and Sean save lives via BRIC.
