Join Us for Granite State Comic Con

September 18, 19, 20 – You wont want to miss it!

Palladium Books will have a big presence this year plus it is the unofficial Ninja Turtles convention. This year’s guests include Kevin Siembieda, Kevin Eastman, Simon Bisley, Jim Lawson, Steve Lavigne, Dan Berger, Eric Talbot, Michael Dooney, Fero Pe, Luis Antonio Delgado, Freddie E. Williams II, Ben Bishop, Esau & Isaac Escorza, Mike Rooth, Smith, Tom Waltz, and dozens of other Ninja Turtles, comic book, and Hollywood icons like Lou Diamond Phillips, Khary Payton, voice actor James Saito (Shredder), Kevin Clash (Splinter) and more.

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to have them all sign your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness Redux books!

Palladium Books will have a booth connected to Artists Alley with a slew of TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Edition and After the Bomb sourcebooks featuring artwork by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Jim Lawson, and many of the other artists who contributed to these books at the convention.

Did you know that Peter Laird did the cover and all the interior art in the original After the Bomb sourcebook? (We’ll have some copies at our booth.) Or that Kevin Eastman did the covers to Road Hogs and Mutants Down Under? (We’ll have some at our booth.) Or that Jim Lawson did all the interior art for Mutants Down Under? (We’ll have some at our booth!) AND all three of these artists and many of the ones listed above contributed art to TMNT & Other Strangeness and Transdimensional Adventures Redux Editions! (We’ll have tons of both books at our booth along with dice and GM Screen.)

We’ll also be bringing a selection of Rifts®, Palladium Fantasy, Heroes Unlimited, After the Bomb, and other books for your enjoyment. Oh yeah, and some incredible convention special deals you won’t want to miss, so be sure to swing by our booth.

Philadelphia Area Gaming Expo (PAGE)

will be here before you know it – January 14-17, 2027

This is another fun and rapidly growing convention. A must for gamers in the northeastern U.S., especially old school gamers!

Last year it had nearly 100 guests – many of them legends in the role-playing game industry. Including little ol’ me, Kevin Siembieda, Matthew Balent, Matt Forbeck, Frank Mentzer, Zeb Cook, Ed Stark, Jeff Dee, Darlene, Harold Johnson, Professor Dungeon Master, Kelsey Dionne (Shadowdark), Chris Arneson, and dozens more.

I will be back as a guest, and I’m scheduled for two panel talks with J-M DeFoggi. I believe Jim Zub, writer of Conan for Titan Comics, is one of the new guests this year. The Saturday Night auction is amazing too.

AVAILABLE NOW! A new fun online Chat. Check out the September 11, Friday Night Live on the Philadelphia Area Game Expo website/YouTube Channel.

I did a fun livestream on the show with Ron Meischler, Phil Wert, Jennifer Cash the Blind Bard, and fellow guest Rob Aldermann at Pulp Hummock Press (his Overlords of Steel RPG crowdfunder, it looks very interesting).  We had a blast talking about a lot of different subjects. Check it out below!

COMING SOON! Legion of Myth Live Chat with Siembieda and Roberson – September 27, 2026

Yep, the dynamic duo (me and Sean, that is) are back to chat about the Rifts® Glitter Boy Codex and all the super-cool items this mid-October crowdfunder on Backerkit will offer. Closing Thoughts – A Rollicking End to Summer and an Explosive Start to Autumn

Granite State Comic Con is this weekend, so naturally the Ninja Turtles have been on our minds.

I can hardly believe that I have known “the boys” – Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird (not to mention Jim Lawson, Steve Levigne, Eric Talbot and other Mirage Studio artists) – since the very beginning. It’s also hard to believe Palladium Books was the first TMNT license and the first to introduce the idea of other mutant animals. Or that Erick Wujcik was so inspired that he knocked out one of the most beloved role-playing games ever. Or that I was the guy who introduced Kevin and Peter to Mark Freedman of Surge Licensing. What a wild ride.

You can read all about it in the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Edition along with fond remembrances from many of them, along with 17 pages of tribute art in that one book, and another 15 pages in Transdimensional Adventures.

I’m proud of my friends and the wonderful legacy they have created for generations of us all to enjoy. I marvel at the array of new, talented writers and artists expanding the TMNT universe and love watching them take it to new heights. Bravo, Ladies and Gentlemen, bravo. You’ve brought the world so much joy across so many mediums – comic books, graphic novels, animation, movies, toys, action figures, clothing … I better stop there.

That’s what makes going to Granite State Comic Con so special to us. It’s a celebration with old friends and new ones, warm and fuzzy Ninja Turtle nostalgia, and inspiring glimpses of their continuing future.

By the way, you may be surprised to learn that the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux RPG and Transdimensional Adventures sourcebook offer sweeping possibilities as supplements for Rifts. Those mutant animals can be used to create D-Bees, Coalition mutants, and monsters, heroes, and villains from beyond the rifts. Create mutant dinosaurs to populate Rifts Dinosaur Swamp, South America, and the New West. Create mutant experiments from the Lone Star Complex, or aliens for Phase World and the Three Galaxies. Meanwhile, Transdimensional Adventures – with its time travel and dimensional travel rules and magic – is compatible with the dimension spawning concepts of Rifts, and suitable for sending characters on unexpected adventures in new dimensions or across time.

The TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux RPG and related products will be available at Granite State Comic Con – as well as on sale for the next two weeks for the multitude of gamers who cannot join us at the convention. We want everyone to discover and enjoy the Ninja Turtles role-playing game and create their own legion of mutant animal heroes, villains, and enthralling adventures.

Other stuff …

  • Rifts fans! Check out and sign up to the Rifts Glitter Boy Codex – Backerkit pre-launch Page! You will not want to miss any of the very cool offerings in this crowdfunding campaign, especially the special 45th Anniversary book I am forbidden to reveal just yet.

  • Take a listen to the fun and silliness of the September 11, Friday Night Live on the Philadelphia Area Game Expo website/YouTube Channel with Ron, Phil, Jenn, and Rob. I love these folks and the PAGE convention.

  • The Worlds of Palladium exhibit has come to an end. My thanks to the curators who made this exhibit possible, and to everyone who made the pilgrimage to come see it.

We’ll see some of you at Granite State. The rest of you enjoy the End of Summer Super-Sale for huge savings and heroic fun that will keep you warm all fall and winter.

Be Excited – Weekly Update – August 20, 2026

CELEBRATING 45 YEARS OF RPG FUN

A LEGACY OF INNOVATION – ONE GAME SYSTEM – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

By Kevin Siembieda and Daniel Lansdown

I’m excited, you’re excited, we’re all excited about upcoming releases, the future of Palladium Books, and current events! We’re glad so many of you enjoyed the product updates in the August 14th Weekly Update. All of us here are working hard to get these new books into your hands.

The TMNT Game Night – Weekend Adventure Sale, offering Ninja Turtles products at 40% off, sure garnered a lot of hype, this past weekend. So much so that we may start doing Game Night Sales a couple times a month. Check out this week’s Rifts Game Night – Weekend Adventure Sale toward the end of this Update.

It was certainly an exciting weekend for me …

Legion of Myth Gamer Talk

On last Sunday’s Gamer Talk with Legion of Myth, Sean and I joined the crew for some high-energy fun. We talked about using the ‘Burbs as a setting for character based camps, adventures, and intrigue. We also talked about how the Ninja Turtles Redux RPG and especially the Transdimensional Adventures sourcebook had a zillion uses and applications within Rifts. I think people forget about the simple and fun time travel and dimensional travel rules and adventure tables in the TMNT sourcebook. So easy to apply to Rifts, Chaos Earth, Phase World, After the Bomb, and Heroes Unlimited. And of course the mutant animals creation rules can be used as mutants, D-Bees, and aliens in Rifts.

Our thanks to all the gamers who join these chats and ask interesting questions and make smart and silly comments. Our appreciation to Max and Heathendog for hosting these chats. The next Legion of Myth gamer talk with me (Kevin) and Sean should be September 27th.

New Weekly Videos coming to our YouTube Channel!

J-M and I have more new videos and reels coming your way on the Palladium Books YouTube channel. In fact, we’ll soon be posting a new game conversation once a week, so visit our YouTube channel often. We hope each one is insightful, but we know they’re all fun. All are timeless, so you can listen to them today, months or even years from now. Enjoy.

A Chance Meeting

I went to a special comic book talk last Saturday at the Detroit Historical Museum. I really enjoyed the presentation by Arvell Jones and Mike Kucharski about the early days of comic book fandom. It brought back a lot of fond memories. I also enjoyed the talk by Bill Morrison (Futurama) that followed. After which, I met a gentleman (hey, Brian Townsend) who was a regular at the Detroit Gaming Center for years. He had come to the guest lectures and to see the Worlds of Palladium Exhibit. Meeting me was a surprise bonus (or so he said). We enjoyed a nice chat.

Come on down to see the Palladium Books and comic book exhibits at the Detroit Historical Museum before both exhibits END September 13th. While you’re in town, give us a call and swing by the Palladium office to get a tour, books signed, and enjoy a brief chat with me (Kevin) and whoever else is available.

Rifts® Bestiary Volume Two – Coming This Fall

Rifts® Bestiary Volume Two is racing toward completion, and we think you are going to love what you see.

Sean is back in Asia wrapping up the layout and final editing pass, while the last pieces continue to fall into place. The book looks great, and it is packed with strange, dangerous, beautiful, terrifying, and sometimes downright bizarre creatures ready to challenge players across Rifts Earth and beyond.

One of the things that makes this book especially fun is the involvement of Rifts fans themselves. Several creatures originated with fan submissions and special crowdfunding rewards connected to Rifts Bestiary Volume One and Two, including Ultimate Benefactor rewards and other Palladium crowdfunding efforts.

One standout is the fan-created Five-Headed Chimera – exactly the sort of wild monster that feels right at home in the Megaverse®. We’ll be showing off artwork and other fan-inspired creations as we get closer to release.

The Bestiary is also loaded with artwork from Mike Majestic and Chuck Walton, bringing these creatures to life in all their monstrous glory. There is a LOT packed into this book, and we’ll reveal more creatures, artwork, and surprises in the weeks ahead.

Rifts® Bestiary Volume Two is coming this fall. Stay tuned.

Join the Rifts® Glitter Boy Codex

Crowdfunder Pre-Launch Page

The Glitter Boy Codex is a brand new sourcebook for Rifts. It reveals more background and history about the Glitter Boy and its heroic legacy since the Great Cataclysm. The book offers new Glitter Boy weapons and gear, armor features, heroes of legend, adventure ideas, and more.

And we are doing something very special with this release.

The Glitter Boy Codex will be available as a traditional black-and-white softcover sourcebook and as a full-color hardcover edition.

That makes this a historic moment for Palladium Books, because the Glitter Boy Codex will be the first full-color Rifts® sourcebook ever!

Best of all, as a crowdfunder, we are able to offer a host of unique rewards and addons like a special Rifts dice set, customizable Rifts Game Master screen, and more surprises we’ll reveal as we get closer to launch.

Sign up to the Pre-Launch page now to get a preview of the book and to be notified the moment the BackerKit crowdfunder goes live. And please, please, please spread the word to Rifts fans everywhere. We want to make this something special.

Granite State Comic Con is something special

September 18, 19, 20

It is the unofficial Ninja Turtles Convention because Kevin Eastman is a frequent guest and so are many of the Mirage Studios and IDW artists. Where else are you gonna meet Simon Bisley, Lawson, Lavigne, Berger, Talbot, Dooney, Doyle, Farley, Pe, Delgado, Williams II, Bishop, the Escorza Brothers, Rooth, Smith, Waltz, and dozens of other Ninja Turtles, comic book, and Hollywood icons like Lou Diamond Phillips, Khary Payton, voice actor James Saito (Shredder), and more.

And this year, you also get to meet the Palladium Crew: Me (Kevin Siembieda), Daniel Lansdown, and Caleb Nelson. We’ll be in the game room connected to Artists Alley with a slew of TMNT & Other Strangeness books and After the Bomb books to get signed by us, Eastman and the many other contributing artists at Comic Con. And we’ll be bringing a smattering of Rifts, Fantasy, Heroes Unlimited, and other books for your enjoyment. Oh yeah, and with some incredible convention special deals you won’t want to miss, so be sure to swing by our booth. Come on over and join the fun.

Philadelphia Area Gaming Expo (PAGE)

will be here before you know it – January 14-17, 2027

This is another fun and rapidly growing convention. A must for gamers in the northeastern US, especially old school gamers!

Last year it had nearly 100 guests – many are legends in the role-playing game industry. Including little ol’ me, Kevin Siembieda, Matthew Balent, Matt Forbeck, Frank Mentzer, Zeb Cook, Ed Stark, Jeff Dee, Darlene, Harold Johnson, Professor Dungeon Master, Kelsey Dionne (Shadow Dark), Chris Arneson, and dozens more.

I will be back as a guest, and I’m in two panel talks with J-M DeFoggi. I believe Jim Zub (writer of Conan for Titan Comics) is one of the new guests. The Saturday Night auction is amazing too. Join the fun.

Closing Thoughts – Role-Playing Games:

Inexpensive Fun That Make Lasting Memories

More and more I hear from people struggling to make ends meet and worried about the economy. I understand completely. These are strange times and the cost of … well, everything always seems to be climbing higher. Which is why Palladlium has started doing these 3 day long Game Night – Weekend Adventure Sales at steep discounts. (Daniel Lansdown’s idea.) It provides you some excitement and RPG fun at budget prices and big savings.

Remember, role-playing games and sourcebooks provide more bang for the buck than any other form of entertainment to begin with. Not only can you reread the books on your shelf and enjoy the artwork over and over again, but they provide inspiration for new characters, stories, and gaming sessions every time you read one.

Looking for something new to get the ideas burning? Buying even one new sourcebook can often provide ideas for a favorite game setting that can last weeks, months, and even years. That’s why I say things like “explore the possibilities” and “unleash your imagination.” RPGs provide endless ideas and fun. Recently, I’ve been talking a lot about Rifts Mercenaries and the ‘Burbs. Check out our September 16, 2026, gamer’s talk with Legion of Myth. We also have interviews with the Glitterbois as well as Palladium’s growing number of videos on the Palladium Books YouTube channel. Each should provide new insight and ideas for RPG books you may already have on your shelf.

Palladium role-playing games are a rich resource for endless ideas that challenge your imagination and provide hours of fun and laughs with your fellow gamers, friends, and family. Play a short game session for an hour or two or game half the day away, but use RPG fun to put aside your worries for a little while and catch your breath. What’s that, your gaming group isn’t available? That’s okay, spend time creating characters or writing down adventure ideas, doodling or writing a short story.

Can’t afford to buy even one new RPG sourcebook? Then pull out one on your shelf and start rereading it. I guarantee you’ll find things you don’t remember. Things that spawn new and different fun ideas. Heck, I’m surprised by what feels fresh, new and exciting in books that I wrote. Creating characters or new monsters or magic spells or spinning up gaming adventures is another avenue of fun and creativity that doesn’t cost a dime. All of it helps you to put away your worries, find some relief, and have fun. Heck, that’s priceless! So dust off some old favorite RPGs or sourcebooks, or snag a book on sale, and spend some time in a fantasy or science fiction world of wonder and heroes. It’s surprising how one new sourcebook often breathes life into an entire setting.

And try not to worry about things you can’t change. Focus on what you have control over and the simple things that bring you joy. I regularly escape into games, books, movies, and walks in the park to momentarily escape from my worries and recharge my brain.

I mentioned I went to the Detroit Historical Museum last weekend to hear a presentation about the early days of comic book fandom. I didn’t know what to expect, but I thought I should get out of the office and do something that might be fun. It was great! It brought up fond memories, I learned some new things, and it made me smile and feel warm and fuzzy. What was a pleasant surprise was seeing a number of old friends, meeting an interesting new person, and running into a Palladium fan who was happy to spend some time with me. It was a beautiful afternoon that recharged my batteries. I’m so glad I did it.

Please take care of yourselves. Find escape and joy in gaming and whatever recharges your batteries. And I bet it doesn’t even have to cost you much if any money. Enjoy the sale, game on, and stay frosty. It’s all good.

Glitter Boy Codex crowdfunder should be announced soon and is looking great.

Other books in the pipeline are moving along. You can view all our active projects on our Project Status Page.

Negotiations with Paramount for Palladium to create brand new adventure sourcebooks, dice, miniatures, and other goodies for the continuing TMNT & Other Strangeness game line are very promising.

But don’t just wait for new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sourcebooks, order your copies of the new and improved, 272 page, TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG (also contains the remastered Turtles Go Hollywood and Truckin’ Turtles sourcebooks, plus bonus material), the 256 page Transdimensional Adventures (includes Transdimensional TMNT, TMNT Adventures, and TMNT Guide to the Universe sourcebooks plus bonus material), 4-panel customizable Game Master Screen, and sizzling Mutagen Green Dice Set, today! The 7 Nightbane red foil special edition hardcovers, in partnership with AudioRPG, are at the printer! Wayne Smith is working with them to make sure the reproduction is perfect. These were crowdfunder exclusives and I can’t wait to see our copies.

Rifts® Licenses. Sean and I have been approving artwork for an upcoming Savage Rifts project with Pinnacle Entertainment, as well as art for Palladium’s Glitter Boy Codex, and some text and stats for Star Anvil’s Phase World Sourcebook.

Visitors from a foreign land. We had a Westland neighbor discover Palladium Books in town, and we had two different families from Canada visit the Palladium Books office, each on different days. Vince and the boys were the most recent. All groups of visitors were delightful and fun. Of course they were, Palladium fans are the greatest. See my Closing Thoughts for more about you, our fans.

And that’s not all, folks. Caleb and Alex are busy in the warehouse shipping distributor orders and your online orders, and Daniel and Wayne have been working away at marketing and social media, as well as working with the incomparable Rex Barkdoll on making improvements on the smooth functionality of the Palladium Books online store and website.

Update on our Webstore Issues & Upgrades

We are continuing to work on and improve our website. Yesterday, we successfully migrated to a new upgraded server. This new server greatly decreased our website load times, provides much more storage capacity for our product line, forums, and supplementary site for future growth, and improved security features to combat the increased bot traffic experienced by the AI boom.

That said, we are still plugging away at a few minor issues that have intermittently caused problems at checkout or disabled account features (Collections, Wishlist, Waitlists) If you have experienced difficulties placing your order over the last few weeks, please don’t give up on us. Give it another try. We thank you for your understanding and patience.

Known Error at Checkout When Using a Saved Credit Card

At checkout, if you find yourself unable to proceed with your order by clicking the “Place Order” button, this error is linked to the Square credit card processing application. It is only affecting accounts with saved credit cards however. To bypass this, please manually enter your card at checkout. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are awaiting a fix to be implemented by the Square Support Team.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Palladium collectibles, books, artwork, and negatives, as well as action figures, toys, and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are available from this Ebay store! New items added regularly.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con, Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints.

Closing Thoughts – Palladium Fans are the Greatest!

Gamers, in general, are good people, but Palladium Books fans are the greatest of them all. I was reminded of that from recent visits by three different groups of fans who dropped by to see the Palladium office and warehouse. They are always pleased and excited to see all the sights and sounds of our playful work environment. They take photo ops with the life size Leonardo Ninja Turtle in the warehouse, the Star Wars Stormtrooper at the front door, and Xenomorph in my office. Visitors marvel at the art and prints hanging on the walls and the toys that litter the shelves of each of our offices. I think they are surprised to see we are fan boys and nerds just like them.

Visitors always enjoy meeting me and the available Palladium staff, and getting books signed. Most are very kind and considerate, heaping praise upon our decades of innovation in the role-playing game industry. It’s beautiful to see the childlike glee in their eyes and joy on their faces as they talk about their favorite Palladium books, characters, and adventures.

I think we enjoy these brief visits as much as they do, because we are filled with renewed energy after each visit and eager to get back to creating new worlds of wonder. Thank you, to them and all our dear friends who play Palladium’s games, for your love and support. You are more than fans to us, you are members of our extended family. Your joy and kind words inspire us all to keep writing and designing the role-playing games and sourcebooks we know you’ll love. We look forward to seeing throngs of you at Gen Con, so please don’t hesitate to drop by Booth 1523 to chat awhile, get autographs, and buy new books.

I’d also like to remind you that there is still time to see one of the greatest honors of my lifetime, the Worlds of Palladium exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum in downtown Detroit. It’s wonderful and so is the Comic Book exhibit next door. You have till September 13th before both exhibits come down. And hey, while you’re in town to see the exhibit, swing by the Palladium office to say hello, get a brief tour, books signed, and chat a spell.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Closing Thoughts – Why I Love Mutants, Superspies & Ninjas

They are part of my pop-culture DNA and I encourage you to include them in some way in all of your games as heroes, villains, and non-player characters.

Mutants. The X-Men was my favorite comic book. The Island of Doctor Moreau – all about mutant animals – was one of my favorite H.G. Wells novels and so was Mysterious Island, clearly filled with giant, mutated animal monsters! Before you knew it, mutants were popping up more and more, especially in comics and works of science fiction.

Superspies. As a child growing up in the 1960s, spy movies and TV shows were all the rage: James Bond, Harry Palmer, Matt Helm, Our Man Flint, Mission Impossible, The Avengers (not the superhero team), The Saint, Man from U.N.C.L.E., I Spy, Secret Agent, Danger Man, The Prisoner (my fave), The Champions (superpowered spies), Man in a Suitcase, Get Smart, and others! Spies were everywhere and I loved them all.

Ninjas and Martial Arts. As a history buff, I was already intrigued by the historical ninja and samurai of Japan, but had my first hints of martial arts from old Green Hornet radio shows and Bruce Lee as Kato in the Green Hornet TV show, Race Bannon in the Jonny Quest cartoon, and Diana Rigg as Emma Peel in the Avengers. (Boy did I have a crush on her, lol.) Then, the 1970s ushered in a new cinematic era of martial arts. For me that started with the Kung-Fu TV show, followed by Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon, Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, and a host of imported and domestic martial arts/kung-fu movies.

So I encourage all of you to embrace the two current sales that feature mutants, ninjas, and superspies. Here are my thoughts about the sale and how to use the books and characters in game settings that may not seem obvious.

The current Mutants & Ninjas Bundle of Holding is a mind-boggling deal. I mean, you get nearly $300 worth of digital products for under $30. Wow. Even if you’re not big into PDFs or digital books, snap up the Starter and Bonus Collections for your future reference. You may find yourself using them more than you imagine. I just sent a friend and freelancer a couple of signed physical books, but also a dozen PDF sourcebooks for their easy searchability and ease of reference. I’m sure if there are PDF books he likes, he’ll order the physical books too. PDF files are just nice to have. By the way, PDF books may appeal to your children and the younger generation of gamers, so give these Bundles of Holding a try.

For those of you, like me, who prefer physical books, Palladium has many of those same books and others in our Mutant and Ninja Mania SALE as physical books at a substantial discount. Including the two full color TMNT & Other Strangeness hardcovers. So a little something for everyone.

Mutants, ninjas, martial arts, and superspies add fun and surprises to every setting. Use them in the world presented in the specific RPG or drop them into almost ANY setting. They are obviously ideal for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness books, Heroes Unlimited, and After the Bomb.

But stop and think about how beautifully they fit into Rifts, Chaos Earth, and Phase World. Mutant animals can be the result of CS Lone Star, Gene-Splicer, or Splugorth experiments as well as D-Bees or mutants caused by the rifts or magic. What better place than Rifts Earth for Mutant Dinosaurs!?! See TMNT Transdimensional Adventures for mutant dinosaur creation rules as well as tables and rules for time travel and dimensional travel that easily work with Rifts, Chaos Earth, and Phase World. Transdimensional Adventures could almost be a sourcebook for Rifts!

Ninjas, martial artists and spies (especially if they have mystical, martial arts powers or Chi Magic!) have a place with every faction on Rifts Earth! They should be wanted by rebel forces, bands of heroes and adventurers, to mercenary companies, the Black Market, Federation of Magic, Lazlo, Tolkeen (before and after the Siege), the Coalition States/CS Army (and as outsiders hired by the CS) as well as hirelings and agents of Triax, Northern Gun, Free Quebec, MercTown, the Vampire Kingdoms, Vampire Hunters, True Atlanteans, Minions of Splugorth, the Phoenix Empire, factions within Rifts China, and the list goes on and on! Ninjas, mutants, and superspies… oh, yes. Use the resources from the books and PDFs currently on sale to surprise players in other settings.

Otherwise, enjoy a safe and joyful 4th of July weekend and use your beautiful imaginations to create epic adventures and new wonders.

CELEBRATING 45 YEARS OF RPG FUN

ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

By Kevin Siembieda

Hello, my fellow gamers, dear fans, friends, and customers. Summer is here and with it comes exciting announcements.

COMING in July! The New Glitter Boy Codex Sourcebook Crowdfunding Pre-launch Party

Watch for it. The Crowdfunder will follow, probably after Gen Con. The cover looks amazing. It’s a blend of nostalgia and the new, because it’s an old Kevin Long pencil drawing that never saw print, turned into a cover painting by the magical Mike Majestic. The interior art is by mecha-king Steven Cummings (Titan Robotics) and looks fabulous. And there’s more to this crowdfunder than this one book. The G.B. Codex (and other surprises) is just one of the secret projects that have been shepherded by Sean Owen Roberson along with a range of long-awaited titles like Rifts Bestiary 2 coming in the months ahead.

COMING! Rifts Bestiary Volume Two

This bad boy finally nears completion. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but it should be soon. Soon enough that we’ll be reaching out to our top Palladium Insiders to get vital information from you regarding special rewards and listings in the book. (Can anyone say Lone Star mutant animals?) If you love superheroes, mutants, martial arts, ninjas, and fast action, you’ll love these RPG books inspired by the gritty, black and white Mirage Studios comic books.

Palladium’s Website Maintenance & Upgrades

The PalladiumBooks.com webstore is open for business and working like a charm. A few weeks back, we had been experiencing some difficulty with the Palladium online store and website. Thanks to the diligence of Sean, Daniel, Rex, Wayne, and Alex the store has been back up and working well. Whew. We don’t want you to miss any sales, new releases, or those must-have Ninja Turtles books.

The Palladium Website, however, remains under construction as upgrades and improvements continue. As a result, parts of the website, like the Forums, are temporarily shut down. We don’t know how long this will all take, so please be patient and understanding. Thank you.

Closing Thoughts – The Roller Coaster of Doom

Do you feel constantly bombarded by gloom and doom and conflicting information? The war in Iran is over, the war has restarted, the war will never end. Gas prices are dropping, gas prices are rising. Food prices are up, food prices are down. Artificial Intelligence is good, AI is bad. It’s like being trapped on the Roller Coaster of Doom! Heck, if you believe the media and army of doomsayers online, everything sucks: politics, our jobs, our society, our lives, movies, streaming, and it’s never going to get better.

Poppycock! You know what, I’m hopping off the Roller Coaster of Doom.

Sure there’s a lot of stuff that sucks, but there are a lot of things that are fun, funny, beautiful, and heartwarming. I’m choosing to be happy and positive. Trust me, life is much too short to live in constant anxiety, dread, and hate. I’m focusing on what I have control over and the people and things that make me happy. Yep, I’m jumping onto real-life’s shiny rollercoaster with my friends and family, and I’m going to enjoy myself. I’m gonna immerse myself in the games, books, comics, artwork, movies, comedies, and places (parks, museums, stores, etc.) that I enjoy and raise my spirits. I want to laugh and feel the warmth of sunlight on my face and friendship in my heart.

Like many of you, I had been feeling … well, up and down. But the downs were getting deeper, longer, and leaving me feeling worn out. The month of June is always rough for me since Kathy died. The end of May is Mother’s Day, early June is her birthday, later in June is Father’s Day and her daughter’s birthday, which were all special days shared with my sweet Kathy. Moreover, there have been a number of recent disappointments and frustrating issues. Add in a memorial for a dear friend and the omnipresent darkness and screams from the Roller Coaster of Doom, and my world was spiralling into a dark, dismal place, teetering on the edge of the abyss.

Well, I’m done with it! I have jumped off the Roller Coaster of Doom! I choose to be happy. I choose to be positive and have fun. I reject darkness and hopelessness in favor of happiness, positivity, and joy. And I invite you to do the same.

There were beautiful moments at my friend’s memorial last weekend and I came home to a wonderful surprise Father’s Day card and gift. In addition, I’ve never been prouder of the Palladium crew. When things went sideways with the Palladium webstore recently, the crew rose up in heroic fashion: Sean led the charge, Rex was superhuman, Wayne, Caleb, Alex, and the new guy, Daniel, all leaped into action like comic book superheroes. I love these guys. They all worked so hard as a team. It was beautiful and reaffirming. And other pals joined the fray too – Frank, J-M, John, Glen – a reminder that the world is not all dark and grim. There are plenty of good people and great friends. A positive reminder that the Palladium family is quietly amazing.

Please don’t give up on yourself or others. Life is challenging and even scary at times, but it’s also rewarding and beautiful. Drink in all of life’s splendor and revel in it. Be the light you wish the world to be and others will follow. We need that light more than ever, because even “Mister Positive Kevin” needs to see and feel it from time to time. We all do.

We’ve been working very hard to bring you books and videos to restore your sense of wonder. To give you avenues of escape from the darkness where you can find relief in the friendship, fun, and adventure provided by role-playing games. There is a positive energy burning through us all and with it the promise of new books, grand adventure, and new hope, now and in the months ahead.

So let your imaginations soar high into the sunny blue sky, away from the darkness. Let gaming and the friendship, stories, and fun lift your spirits and help keep you sane, positive, and ever hopeful. Choose the light and game on, my friends, game on.

Palladium Videos & Reels Are On Fire

Gamers are loving Palladium’s new video content. People new to Palladium and long-time supporters alike are loving our videos. You can find long-form video chats (20-45 minutes) on the Palladium Books YouTube channel, and 1-2 minute reels on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. The reels have been brief overviews of various Palladium RPGs. The newest have been for Rifts, but we have 4-6 for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, a couple for Nightbane, and many more are coming. My co-conspirator J-M DeFoggi and I are having fun making them and experimenting with tone, information, and visuals. Forgive us if we get a little silly sometimes or sound too serious at others. So far we’ve been hitting the right note. And don’t worry, Sean will be in the hot seat soon enough too. I can’t have all the fun.

Closing Thoughts – Summer Fun

Doesn’t the world feel like it’s on fire these days? It’s not, but all too often it sure feels that way. We all feel it. There’s a negativity and malaise we all need to battle against, because it’s an illusion. The world and our lives are not perfect, faaaar from it, but they aren’t on fire either. Well, not for most of us.

Take a deep breath, hold it for a moment, and let it go. It will be okay. I promise. Things are seldom as bad as they often seem. Don’t let the media and political pundits work you up. Stay frosty. Be positive and enjoy life and the people around you.

It’s summer. Blue skies, sunlight, and warm summer breezes. Stop from time to time to smell the flowers. Drink in all the summer sights, sounds, and glorious colors. We’ve gotten our fair share of rain storms here in Michigan this spring, but the cloud formations afterward have been incredible. And when the sun comes out and the birds are singing, it feels like a brand new day. Our chance to take a moment to drink it all in, and relax, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Use that moment to recalibrate and try to make it a new day full of wonder and promise.

Don’t forget to do something nice for yourself. You deserve it. Yes, you really do. Take a moment. Treat yourself to an ice cream or a nice cold beer. Heck, you may not realize it, but you need the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG books. I have never been happier or as proud of anything Palladium has ever published. They’re not the old black and white books you may remember or have heard about. They are new and improved on every level. Updated, expanded tomes with superior layout and filled with joy and love. They are as near perfect as we have ever published. Their quality is unrivaled in the game industry. A celebration of RPG fun, the Ninja Turtles, and Erick Wujcik. If they don’t restore your sense of childhood glee, nothing will.

After you’ve treated yourself, call a friend or reach out to Mom or Dad, or brother or sister just to say, “Hi, I love you.” Decompress by seeing a movie – we thoroughly enjoyed Masters of the Universe, The Mandalorian & Grogu, and I’m looking forward to Toy Story 5 and Supergirl.

On Saturday, I’m going to a celebration of life gathering for my dear friend Louis Arroy. It will be bitter sweet, but I’ll get to see friends who are like family, share fond memories, laugh a little, cry a little, and enjoy good people and some good eats. Father’s Day I’ll be missing my Dad, Henry, thinking of my children and the friends who are my extended family.

Sure, we are all working like dogs these days. That’s certainly true here at Palladium Books. Those long hours and hard work can wear you out, but we are working toward something better. We are working toward bringing you the books you want and some things you may not have even considered. We are building toward the future and letting our creativity soar. New books are really coming. I wish I could tell you about what’s in the pipeline and the exciting stuff happening behind the scenes, but it’s too soon.

So, summer is here. Don’t let fear and worry and talk of hate knock you down. Get back on your feet and refuse to give up. See the wonder in the world, in books, in RPGs, in the people you know. Seek the positive. Be the light and let that light warm you and guide you and those around you. It’s difficult, but you can do it. We all can. It’s so worthwhile. That’s what the world needs right now: more light, laughter, joy, and camaraderie — and it all starts with you. If inspiration for it comes out of an RPG book or game box, all the better.

Let your imaginations and joy soar high into the summer sky, and game on.

– Kevin Siembieda, Game Designer, Writer, Friend

TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Books – Fun for all ages

These books are everything you could want for superhero adventure. Great for beginners or gamers looking to try something different. Play dark and violent like the original black and white comic that inspired this RPG, or with the silly whimsy of the cartoons or movies. Play the Ninja Turtles and their pals or your own band of original mutant animals.

Character creation is so much fun that many gamers create dozens of mutant animal heroes before they play their first adventure.

Easy to combine with Heroes Unlimited, Ninjas & Superspies, and After the Bomb (post apocalypse mutant animals).

● TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux RPG – Cat. No. 502HC – 272 pages of fun and imagination. Create any mutant animal, 19 adventures to get you started. Includes the RPG and the Turtles Go Hollywood and Truckin’ Turtles sourcebooks, all in one big, full color hardcover – $59.99 retail.

● TMNT Transdimensional Adventures Redux – Cat. No. 508HC – 256 pages of time travel, mutant dinosaurs, alien invaders, magic, 20 pages of TMNT comic strips, 12 adventures, and more. Includes three books in one: Transdimensional TMNT, TMNT Guide to the Universe and TMNT Adventures. All Full Color – $59.99 retail.

● TMNT & Other Strangeness Game Master Screen – Cat. No. 512 – Customizable plastic folders – dynamic color artwork – $24.99 retail.

● Mutagen Green Dice Set – Cat. No. 510 – Seven liquid-filled dice that appear to simmer with boiling mutagenic ooze when they come to a rolling stop. The set comes in a TCRI test tube and looks awesome on your desk or game shelf – $59.99 retail.

● Black, White, & Red TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux RPG Edition – Cat. No. 504BWR – 272 nostalgia pages that harken back to the original RPG and comic books with its shades of grey, reds, and whites by artist Jeremy Colwell, plus the full color bonus art section and behind the scenes art and history – $59.99 retail.

● Black, White, & Red TMNT Transdimensional Adventures Redux Editon – Cat. No. 509BWR – 256 pages of noir colors through space and time, create mutant dinosaurs, 12 adventures, returning villains, epic fun, plus full color bonus art section – $59.99 retail.

— and they are on sale right now!

Closing Thoughts – Boldly Go

Recently Sean and I have been catching up on Star Trek – having watched Picard season three (wonderful) and seasons one and two of Strange New Worlds (pretty good). Many people take away different things from these shows. For, this morning, “to boldly go where no one has gone before” looms on my mind, but on a more personal level.

Though our own world seems increasingly uncertain and scary these days, please don’t let that stop you from living your life to the fullest. Believe in yourself, follow your dreams, and boldly go.

I recently had a falling out with a friend. We had hoped to do a project together, but it became very apparent (to me at least) that this is a journey he needs to travel on his own. I hope he continues that journey, because it’s one he should take. It may be the harder way to go, but maybe it’s a path he’s meant to take. Maybe this is a journey of learning and growth. As long as he realizes you are always learning and pivoting on all fronts, he has a good shot at success. My friend certainly has the passion and the heart to pursue his dream and he’s already put a lot of hard work into it. Now he needs to go into the unknown and see where it carries him. Ultimately, it does not matter if he sinks or swims, he is boldly following his dream. Besides, I have discovered that we often learn more from our failures than from our successes. Challenges make us think harder to be creative, find solutions, and be our best selves.

We should all try to follow our dreams. Big or small, doesn’t matter, just find what brings joy and passion into your life.

Palladium Books has added a new person to its crew. Daniel Lansdown. He joined Palladium to follow his passion to be part of the gaming industry and vent his creative energy on many fronts. He’s a Ninja Turtles maniac and actually co-created the IDW boardgame: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures. So far he seems like an excellent addition to the team, but time will tell. Some of you will get to meet Daniel at Gen Con.

What’s that? It’s scary following your dream or to boldly go? There is no certainty of success and failure can be painful? Yes, all true. But don’t let that stop you! Boldly live your life with gusto and joy. Be curious and creative and appreciative. Take reasonable and calculated chances. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, is a famous saying. So give it a go. Everything is a risk. Just try to make it a calculated risk. Try to be smart. Hedge your bets with research, trust your gut instinct, prepare for the risks as best you can, and then, as my friend Larry Jordan would say, “hold your nose and jump into the unknown.”

Even today, after 45 years of running Palladium Books and creating role-playing games of all kinds, there are scary risks and uncertainty all the stinkin’ time. Life is scary. Business is scary, especially when you have a crew of people counting on you for their livelihood and a legion of fans you don’t want to disappoint. Every time we take the chance to pursue new avenues of creation, production, marketing, and licensing, it’s uncertain and scary. Every book Sean or I write – no matter how good we may think it is – its success is uncertain. When we go into new territory and try new things it’s even scarier and less certain.

Right now is a scary time for all of us, but please don’t let the Iran War and economic uncertainty paralyze you. Boldly go! Businesses all around us are floundering, our sales are up and down, yet Palladium is making aggressive moves. Strategic moves to seize opportunities and make the company stronger. We’re bringing in new people and taking chances to build a stronger foundation and drive prosperity. Foundational work that is critical to make a new era of prodigious role-playing game releases and unbound creativity a reality. Business strategies are a different type of creativity calculated to make Palladium much stronger in the long run. It’s all a ton of work (and worry), but it’s also invigorating and exciting. The possibilities seem endless as we focus on what needs to be done now, but with an eye on the future.

We hope you’ll begin to see the fruits of our labor in the months ahead. Until then, please stay with us as we boldly go forward. We need your support. Please stick with us, take advantage of every sale, buy the occasional new release, and spread the word about Palladium’s game lines to help us grow. There are so many gamers who have yet to discover the Palladium Megaverse. Help them find us, won’t you. Fun things are brewing. And we are doing them together.

In the end, life is a thrill ride with some scary twists and turns, but it’s worth every moment, and like every great ride, it ends too soon. So boldly go where you’ve not gone before, try not to be too scared, and enjoy the ride.

My business partner, Sean Roberson is writing the Closing Thoughts this week so I just wanted to add my appreciation and respect to everyone who has served in the military, past or present, and those who lost someone during a war or military conflict, as well as to everyone who puts their lives on the line to protect others. It doesn’t matter whether you support the politics behind war, it’s the people in service trying to do what they believe is right that we remember this holiday weekend. My Dad and Uncle Skip served in the Air Force, my Uncle Ted made a career in the Navy, and many friends and family members have served in every branch of the military. Know that we at Palladium Books appreciate your service and thank you for your sacrifice. – With Love & Respect, Kevin

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Memorial Day Message — from Sean Owen Roberson

Howdy Rifters,

As a United States military veteran and someone blessed with a long line of ancestors who served this nation before me, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on Memorial Day as observed here in the USA – as well as the overall sentiment as reflected in other nations and cultures worldwide.

Unlike Veterans Day in November, which celebrates everyone living who has served in the military, Memorial Day is focused on those who died while serving in the armed forces. Whether you are American, European, Chinese, etc. we all have forebearers who we owe a debt of gratitude to. Many of them are distant cousins and great uncles who died young and never lived to raise a family.

Our modern world is built on the sacrifice of the brave men and women who came before us, with the ultimate sacrifice being those who died fighting for the freedoms and ideals that we enjoy – and often take for granted. The world we live in is far from perfect, but if you are reading this newsletter you are one of the most privileged human beings to ever walk the Earth.

I was recently working on a video about the “Golden Age of Humanity” for our YouTube channel, and in it I described how this future was a time with the most advanced medicines, technologies, and goods and services ever experienced in the history of mankind. The same can be said about us today! Heck, this may be as good as it gets.

I think we can all agree that our current society is far from perfect. The best way to make the world a better place is by becoming the change we want to see. Our challenge is to make self-improvement our personal responsibility, and change the world by being a better part of it. This is one of the best ways we can honor the memory of the fallen this Memorial Day, and every day.

Being a better person isn’t about some instant transformation, it’s about doing the best you can little by little, day by day. Start with small things and work your way up. Be a good friend, today. Run a fun game, today. Bring joy and security to those around you, today… then next week… and next month.

Be better. Do better. Game on.
