In the distant future, humanity barely survived a global apocalypse. In the span of days, billions died in the upheaval of magical forces that ripped the planet to shreds. From the chaos, aliens, demons, heroes, magic, and more would emerge. Now, 100 years after the world was changed, humanity is struggling to survive and thrive. We are no longer the only species on our planet and life is anything but easy.

Humanity was doing great, advancing and relying on technology to take care of our every need. After all, Artificial Intelligence and automation made everything so easy, what could go wrong? An A.I. fault. Without warning, the A.I. that had been so helpful turned on humanity and killed billions of people. Fortunately, some humans escaped into nature with gene-editing technology and began working to take their world back – with genetically enhanced living armor!

When people started dying en masse, few people knew what was going on. The news said it was some new virus or disease, but before anyone could really do anything, the billions-strong civilization that spanned the planet was almost completely wiped out with the exception of a few people who were immune. In humanity’s place, the virus changed animals and they gained human-level intelligence. As they create the world anew, the remaining humans struggle to keep the power they once had.

The year is 2098 and the apocalypse just tore apart the Earth. Storms of unprecedented fury ripped the surface of the planet apart. Magical energy overflowed and tore holes in space and time, brining untold horrors to our planet. Somehow, you’ve survived up to this point, but who knows what’s going to happen next?

On the frontiers of humanity’s inter-planetary empire, a new threat enters the skies above your colony. A seemingly endless invasion force of machines that seem to hate all humanoid life. All attempts at negotiation have failed but rumors are that there’s a way to get some payback for what’s been done to your home.
