It’s a surprise because you never know exactly what you’re going to get or who will sign your books, because we pick from your Wishlist and may surprise you with stuff you are not expecting. Extra items may include other RPGs, sourcebooks, issues of the Rifter®, miniatures, prints, art books, poker deck, notepad, greeting cards, T-shirts, and other items. Some books may be slightly damaged (scuffs, scratches, dings, a bent or crunched corner, etc.) so we can send you more.

Shipping via Priority Mail International (required for packages weighing more than four pounds) to most locations in Europe, Canada, and many other countries is around $70-$90 US dollars. | | | | Palladium’s printer experienced a major SNAFU printing the two dozen out of stock Palladium titles. They promised to make things right and get back on track as quickly as they can, but we do not yet have an estimated time of delivery. | I will continue to add new Rifts negatives to my (Kevin) personal Ebay store till Christmas. Negatives look awesome, and are suitable for framing. Most game and book publishers threw away the negatives when printing companies switched from film to digital printing. Palladium kept book negatives for several dozen books and from time to time we make them available for sale. They are super-rare one- (sometimes two-) of-a-kind pieces of history, and quite attractive and unique. Note: Role-Playing Games from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s have become collector items selling for big bucks by legitimate auction houses like Heritage Auctions (HA), as well as at game conventions. And prices will only continue to soar. Get ‘em while you can. |

| Coming in November and December! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness Rewards are at sea! All TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux books and Kickstarter rewards are at sea and on their way to the USA.
We tentatively anticipate Kickstarter Rewards to start shipping mid- or late November (we don’t have an exact date yet). Backers, watch for Kickstarter Updates and Backerkit shipping charges coming soon! We are happy to report Palladium’s estimated shipping costs were pretty close for most, only a bit higher than anticipated. Shipping even for the top tier Backers isn’t too bad, but the amount of awesomeness they are receiving does jump up the shipping cost. We’ll get you the details next week.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display.
Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints. And they are on sale right now! |

The last week or so has been rough as we bang our heads against one disappointment or problem after another. We’re juggling a lot and all of us are feeling a bit worn out. I’m also seeing and hearing a lot of cynicism and concern over the government, politics, and the economy which is creating a malaise amongst most everyone.
I get it. I have a number of friends and acquaintances who are being furloughed or getting laid off from their jobs. Meanwhile, Palladium is dealing with tariffs, printing, and other rising costs as we work to maintain our current prices. Buck up! Your TMNT Kickstarter rewards should start shipping in a few weeks, books are coming back in stock, and Halloween is today. Please try to lean into spooky fun this weekend and find escape in games, books, movies, and loved ones. I know, easier said than done.
Just this morning, I was missing Kathy (and Luis) and feeling blue. Luckily for me, pulling and signing books for Christmas Surprise Package orders cheered me right up. I love creating Surprise Packages for you all.
I grew up poor and had to scrounge and save the whole year to buy or make Christmas presents for everyone I cared about. My family lived below the poverty level, but somehow my incredible Mom and Dad made the holiday season – Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas – special.
Mom took me and my brother out in our homemade costumes to trick-or-treat on Halloween no matter the weather. Thanksgiving was filled with good eats, family, and Detroit Lions football. And Christmas … Christmas was absolutely magical. After the giftgiving on Christmas morning, Mom and Dad hugged and kissed us and Mom would gently remind us that, “We may not be rich in money and things, but we are so rich in love.”
And we were rich in love.
For me, the Christmas Surprise Packages are an extension of that family tradition, love, and, I hope, Christmas magic. I read every comment and each Surprise Package is packed with care and love in an effort to show you – the greatest fans in the world – how much you really matter to us. That you are truly special, appreciated, and loved by me and the Palladium staff. I know that may sound corny, but it’s sincere and true.
The Surprise Packages are a ton of work, but we don’t care. I had a big company that wanted to buy Palladium tell me the first thing they’ll do is discontinue the Surprise Package because it was a huge waste of time and resources (i.e., money and people). I turned them down for that and other reasons, because as long as I’m at this company and healthy enough to do them, Surprise Packages are ongoing.
Similarly, I’ve had more than one visiting industry friend tell me we’re crazy for doing the Surprise Package because they are too much work. On the other hand, I’ve had others endorse it and lament how they can’t do something similar because they all work remotely and don’t have their own warehouse.
I often have friends visit and chat with me while I happily sign books and pull Surprise Packages on the weekends. During which I can’t help myself from saying things out loud like, how I know this customer will be surprised by X and that customer will love Y. One friend thought it was remarkable how much I loved putting together Surprise Packages, saying, “Geez, Kevin, you love this. You really are like Santa Claus. You even have your little workshop area in the warehouse.” Yep. That made my heart sing.
I wish I was Santa Claus, but I can’t magically make books or toys appear for all good little gamers, which is why we have to charge for them, but I do love putting smiles on your faces and reminding you that you are special and important to us. That each of you is a member of Palladium’s extended family and you make our lives richer by being part of it.
I hope every Surprise Package brightens your holiday, sparks your imagination, and brings months, even years, of gaming enjoyment to you and the people you game with. Please share the word about Palladium’s Surprise Package offer so we can spread gaming joy to as many as possible.
