Gen Con Coming
– Palladium Books® – Weekly Update –
July 24, 2025

I’m delighted so many of you loved the big Rifts® sale that ended Wednesday night. It offered a lot of titles and you seized the opportunity. Beautiful. We’re also pleased you enjoyed getting the physical flyer in the mail telling you about the new website, upcoming releases, Gen Con and other exciting happenings at Palladium Books. We received a lot of positive feedback about the sale and the mailer from happy Palladium fans.

Along with lots of Rifts® purchases due to the sale we have been seeing considerable interest in Palladium Fantasy, Dead Reign (the Zombie Apocalypse), and the After the Bomb RPG and sourcebooks (suitable for use with the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness RPG), as well as Heroes Unlimited, Ninjas & Superspies, Nightbane, and a smattering of others. Keep those orders coming and see us at Gen Con.

Folks are enjoying the new website and its many new features like the bundle deals, buying PDFs direct from Palladium, and others. We’re still making improvements on the back end to speed things up, but it’s running a LOT better than it was a couple weeks ago, so check it out.

The Rifts® 35 Year Celebration will continue throughout the year with other fun offers and surprises, like Palladium putting all Rifts books on sale at Gen Con.

NEW every two weeks! Watch the Official History of Palladium Books while you lounge on your patio sipping a cool drink. A new episode goes live every other week. Gamers are loving them whether they are Palladium fans or just enjoy RPG history. You can find them on the Palladium Books YouTube channel. And there are a whole bunch of them now! Also check out the fun chats with Legion of Myth and great podcasts with the Glitterbois. Hey Podcasters and YouTubers, we are happy to consider appearances on your shows too. Please reach out via the Help Desk. Thanks.

COMING! Yin-Sloth Expeditions. I finished the brand new Orcish Empire adventure and I think it’s excellent. I’m now adding new material and adventure hooks for other sections, though with Gen Con prep and some unexpected car problems and business matters, I have not had a chance to do much writing this week.

SALE! Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Palladium collectibles as well as action figures and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are on sale!

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display.

Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints. And they are on sale right now!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

See you at Gen Con

Gen Con is next week, and the office will be closed until we get back Monday, August 4th. We close the office so the skeleton crew left behind are not overwhelmed.

That means there will be no Weekly Update next week and orders you place after July 27th will not ship till after August 4th, but please keep the orders coming. We’ll jump on them as soon as we return.

If you are going to be at Gen Con, please stop by Palladium Booth #1515 to say hello, chat a bit, get autographs, buy books you are missing or have worn out, and pick up and examine the physical TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux products coming to you this fall. We have product samples to show you and a mechanism by which you can pre-order them at a special price. They are sooo good, you’ll want to see them.

And do not miss the biggest Gen Con Rifts Sale we have ever done! Rifts made its debut at Gen Con in 1990 so we are celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Rifts by putting ALL Rifts books on sale! Even hardcovers and collector editions are on sale, but negatives, T-shirts, and other Rifts items are not on sale. And for you super-collectors, I’m bringing 40+ negatives from the original 1990 Rifts RPG to sell.

Of course, we’re bringing a wide array of all our RPGs and sourcebooks so there is something for everyone. Game on!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Writing strong

I continue to write away even while I prep for Gen Con and juggle other things.

Yin-Sloth Expeditions is truly epic. I think there are 10 fully fleshed out adventures, plenty of new adventure hooks and encounter tables, 30+ newly rendered maps, and lots of fun. The Yin-Sloth Jungles and the adventures you can have there are brought to life like never before. I’m having a blast. I can’t wait to dive back into Rifts Antarctica next.

I’m not the only one writing. Sean Roberson and Matthew Clements are pounding away on Rifts Bestiary Volume Two, and we have work being done for Chaos Earth First Responders and other titles.

The Palladium flyer has been arriving in mailboxes across the United States for a week now. Sean and I are pleased that you enjoy little surprises like the occasional physical, color flyer. You’re special to us and we want to keep you informed.

This one talked about the Rifts® 35th Anniversary Celebration, current sales, Gen Con (all Rifts titles will be on sale at Booth 1515 while supplies last), upcoming releases, the new website, and other things of interest. And it provides your first look at the new covers for Rifts Psi-Ops: Psychic War (formerly Coalition Manhunters) and Rifts Black Market. Which, by the way, should both be available at Gen Con (and on the Palladium website while we’re at Gen Con).

I’m surprised by how many people who already own these two titles – both outstanding player and campaign resources that are fun to read – tell us they’re going to buy a second copy for the new covers. Nice. Thank you, you will love them.

The big Rifts Sale is ending so order books on sale from the new website (or the old store) before it is over! It ends Wednesday night. Also consider some of the Palladium collectibles and toys on sale from my Ebay store. Otherwise, enjoy the summer, try to get in some gaming, and keep those beautiful imaginations burning bright.

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Rifts® SALE & News – Palladium Books® – Weekly Update – July 10, 2025

Did you enjoy a nice 4th of July Weekend? We hope so. The Palladium staff got in some much deserved R&R. My weekend was a combination of work (a little Gen Con prep and a lot of writing on Yin-Sloth Expeditions) and fun (saw a couple movies). My thanks to those of you who ordered books over the long holiday weekend. We appreciate your support.

Our big Rifts sale is in its final two weeks so if you’ve been meaning to snag some of the 80+ titles on sale, time is running out, and so are some of the books. Rifts Black Market has now joined the titles temporarily out of stock. We hope it will be back with a new cover in time for Gen Con. (All Rifts titles will be on sale at Gen Con!)

News Briefs

● Palladium’s new website! Have you seen it? Isn’t it nice? Hmm well, maybe not if you found it Tuesday or Wednesday when it was running sloooooow and we were still finding and working out the bugs. The speed issues and glitches should be mostly fixed at this point, but if you find any issues, please let us know about them as soon as possible. People seem most excited about being able to order PDFs directly from Palladium, but there are a lot of nice, new features you should enjoy once everything is running smoothly.

● Check your mailbox for a Palladium flyer. We sent out a promotional flyer that should be arriving any time now. It talks about the Rifts® 35th Anniversary Celebration and current sale, Gen Con (all Rifts titles will be on sale at Booth 1515 while supplies last), upcoming releases, and other things of interest. And it provides your first look at the new covers for Rifts Psi-Ops: Psychic War (formerly Coalition Manhunters) and Rifts Black Market. Sean and I have some fun and exciting things in store for you in the months ahead.

● Last 2 weeks of Rifts® 35 year Anniversary Sale – 20% off sale on 80+ Rifts books – ends July 23 – so place your order before you forget. And also because Rifts books are temporarily selling out. We’ll reprint them, of course, but that takes 5-10 weeks, so if there are certain Rifts titles you know you want badly, we recommend you order soon in case they sell out. See complete sale details, below.

● Temporarily sold out! Rifts Black Market, Rifts Coalition Manhunters, Rifts Bionics Sourcebook, and Rifts® Primer & Adventures are temporarily sold out and we are running low on Rifts Underseas and a few others. Available on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.

● Back in Stock in time for the Rifts® Sale! The ever popular Rifts Game Master Guide (softcover and hardcover), Rifts Book of Magic (softcover and hardcover), Rifts Cyberworks Collection (a compendium for Archie Three and a great companion for Titan Robotics), Psycape and Rifts Dinosaur Swamp, among others. And we just sent in another dozen titles for reprint last week. Please keep those orders coming and game on!

● NEW this Sunday! Online Event – Live Stream on Legion of Myth – Sunday, July 13 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time – chat with Kevin Siembieda and Jeremy Colantonio. Kevin and Jeremy will be back with more RPG talk and Game Master tips. The focus will be on one of my favorite subjects: how to create and use Non-Player Characters (NPCs) effectively. Can’t wait, please join us.

● NEW! Check out the fun chats with Legion of Myth and great podcasts with the Glitterbois. Hey Podcasters and YouTubers, we are happy to consider appearances on your shows too. Please reach out via the Help Desk. Thanks.

● COMING! Yin-Sloth Expeditions. Finally, my creative energies are flowing again and I’m making my final run on the Yin-Sloth Expeditions book. I’m currently expanding the material for the Dragon Gate Mountains and Dragonedra City of Dragons. And I’ll be adding new material and adventure hooks for other sections too. Including a villain that has plagued the Yin-Sloth Jungles across the ages. Yeah, I’m feeling pretty inspired at the moment.

Phase World for Savage Worlds Kickstarter

● COMING! Rifts® Phase World® Sourcebooks from Star Anvil, a new licensing partner. Their first Kickstarter probably launches in September (I misspoke when I said mid-July), but you can join their pre-launch campaign now. And you want to, because it’s gonna be great, with new settings, villains, spaceships, weapons, gear and more, easy to adapt to Palladium’s game system and any existing adventure campaign. As for you Savage Worlds players, you’ll be able to dive right in and run with it, because these books use the Savage Worlds game system. UPDATE! Closing the Rifts Promise of Power Reforged Campaign

Howdy Palladium fans, I wanted to personally inform you that we have decided to close the current Rifts: Promise of Power Reforged Backerkit campaign. As you can see, the initial interest is very high — something we’d be ecstatic for if it were any other project. But video games aren’t cheap and we have a lofty funding goal that we aren’t likely to hit at the current rate. Many fans have spoken online or reached out to us and we have listened carefully and learned a lot about what people want to see in a Rifts video game offering. Kevin and I remain excited about the project, but always knew this initial crowdfunding campaign might be more about testing the waters than anything else. That’s the beauty of crowdfunding, it lets us creators get feedback on potential projects directly from you, our loyal fans. So you can expect us to collate your input and other information and come back with a new plan for the Rifts Promise of Power video game in the future. We’re already exploring new ideas and approaches.

Thank you so much for your continued support in everything we do!

Glad to be writing again

I did my most inspired writing in a year and a half over the Independence Day weekend. It felt glorious. Finally, ideas were flowing and so were the words.

For months after Kathy Simmons’ death, I just couldn’t write. Actually, I did write, but it wasn’t up to my usual standards. Then for a while I could write things like the Weekly Update well, but more creative works continued to be difficult. So when I struggled with writing these past several months, I focused on doing video interviews and strategic planning with Sean, or dealt with artists and business matters.

When you’re a writer or an artist, the need to be creative is in your DNA. It’s not just what you do, it’s a primary function like breathing. You’re a storyteller. And in my case, I tell stories in words and pictures whether the art is by me or others. I build worlds and characters for gamers to take and spin into their own landscapes of adventure. And I love it. So it was frustrating to struggle for so many months.

Ah, but now it feels wonderful to have it all starting to flow again. And not just for Yin-Sloth Expeditions, but ideas for multiple books including the long-awaited BTS sourcebooks. I’ve been making notes for those other books and enjoying the flow of ideas and words again with Expeditions.

Well, that’s it for this Update. Enjoy the big Rifts sale and the collectibles and toys sale on my Ebay store. Get your creative energies flowing and try to get some gaming in, or do something else fun and creative this weekend. I hope to get more writing done.

Weekly Update

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Rifts® SALE & Happy 4th of July – Palladium Books® – Weekly Update – July 3, 2025

Don’t forget little ol’ Palladium Books and our huge Rifts sale this Independence Day holiday weekend. But please have safe fun with fireworks, going to the beach, parks, barbecues, and good times with friends and family. Summer fun is always a good thing.

● Don’t miss out. Gamers are loving Palladium’s unprecedented Rifts® 35 year Anniversary Sale – 20% off sale on 80+ Rifts books – you will too, but you might want to place your order sooner than later because Rifts books are temporarily selling out. We’ll reprint them, of course, but that takes 5-10 weeks, so if there are certain Rifts titles you know you want badly, we recommend you order soon in case they sell out. See complete sale details, below.

● Temporarily sold out! Rifts Bionics Sourcebook and Rifts® Primer & Adventures, and we are running low on Rifts Black Market, Rifts Coalition Manhunters, Rifts Underseas, and a few others. Available on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.

● Back in Stock in time for the Rifts Sale!

● Listen and watch the Official History of Palladium Books while you lounge around on your patio or at the beach. From all reports, gamers are loving them whether they are Palladium fans or not. You can find them on the Palladium Books YouTube channel. And there are a whole bunch of them now! Also check out the fun conversations with Legion of Myth and great podcasts with the Glitterbois. Hey Podcasters and YouTubers, we are happy to consider appearances on your shows. Please reach out via the Help Desk. Thanks.

● COMING! Rifts® Phase World® Sourcebooks from Star Anvil, a new licensing partner. Their first Kickstarter starts in mid-July, but you can join their pre-launch campaign now. They will be creating a series of adventure sourcebooks for Phase World and the Three Galaxies™ in the tradition of Palladium, but utilizing the Savage Worlds rules. Remember, new weapons, gear, spacecraft, aliens, worlds, and adventure can be easily converted to the Palladium game system and added to your existing Phase World or Rifts campaign.

● The New Palladium Books website and online store will go live NEXT WEEK! We were going to launch this week but with the 4th of July holiday, Palladium’s technical support team will all be off on a long weekend vacation. That meant there would be nobody available to troubleshoot if there were any problems, so we decided to launch next week. You’ll love it. The website and store will look very different and it will require you to provide all your information the next time you place an order, but it will provide you greater versatility and functionality for mobile devices and PCs, as well as a new clean appearance, and many new features including additional payment options, the ability to buy PDFs directly from Palladium Books, book bundle deals, and more. We hope you like it.

UPDATE! Rifts Promise of Power Reforged

– Video Game

This project is very near and dear to our hearts. We thought with this being Rifts’ 35th Anniversary, that the timing would be perfect. We jumped off to a great start, but pledges have slowed down to a trickle, and we are assessing the situation.

All of us at Palladium Books remain dedicated to releasing this Rifts video game built upon the strong framework of Rifts Promise of Power, but this may not be the right time for a project like this. For now, we are letting the campaign run, but odds are that we’ll suspend the crowdfunding campaign, regroup, reassess, and relaunch in the future. We’ve already been spitballing ideas.

Our sincere thanks to all of you who have backed the project and provided valuable input and suggestions. We read all the comments and take stock in everything said. More to come in the days ahead.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Enjoy your long weekend

Whether you’re going to the beach, a barbecue, or staying home to run games or just relax for the 4th of July weekend, please enjoy yourselves. I’m sure you deserve it.

I will probably try to get some writing done. I’ve been struggling with writer’s block the past week or two, but I feel like I’m coming out of it. I may also try to figure out what original artwork and negatives to bring to Gen Con. I’m also planning to go see the new Jurassic Park movie with Caleb, because I love dinosaurs and the trailer looks pretty good.

So that’s it for this Update. Enjoy the Rifts sale and do something fun this weekend.
