CELEBRATING 45 YEARS OF RPG FUN

ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

By Kevin Siembieda

Hello, my fellow gamers, dear fans, friends, and customers. Summer is here and with it comes exciting announcements.

COMING in July! The New Glitter Boy Codex Sourcebook Crowdfunding Pre-launch Party

Watch for it. The Crowdfunder will follow, probably after Gen Con. The cover looks amazing. It’s a blend of nostalgia and the new, because it’s an old Kevin Long pencil drawing that never saw print, turned into a cover painting by the magical Mike Majestic. The interior art is by mecha-king Steven Cummings (Titan Robotics) and looks fabulous. And there’s more to this crowdfunder than this one book. The G.B. Codex (and other surprises) is just one of the secret projects that have been shepherded by Sean Owen Roberson along with a range of long-awaited titles like Rifts Bestiary 2 coming in the months ahead.

COMING! Rifts Bestiary Volume Two

This bad boy finally nears completion. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but it should be soon. Soon enough that we’ll be reaching out to our top Palladium Insiders to get vital information from you regarding special rewards and listings in the book. You may recall this was a special project funded waaaay back when. Well, you aren’t forgotten.

COMING! Yin-Sloth Expeditions (Fantasy)

Yin-Sloth Expeditions is the epic companion to Yin-Sloth Jungles. It is jam-packed with 10 full adventures, dozens and dozens of adventure hooks, 30 maps and notable locations, new villains, monsters, and non-stop fun. It even has some new artwork by me (Kevin Siembieda) and Mike Majestic.

COMING! Other books and surprises

Even more new projects like Rifts Antarctica and Chaos Earth First Responders are in the pipeline, but I’d better stop here before I say too much.

COMING on Legion of Myth, July 5th – Noon EST Livestream conversation with Sean Owen Roberson and Kevin Siembieda.

Yep, another fun chat with the guys and viewers about a bunch of different things — including lots of Game Master and role-playing advice. It’s always fun and we hope it’s helpful and insightful. You can check out our most recent chat below.

Legion of Myth & Palladium Books – Live Steam – May 24, 2026

Each hardcover contains THREE different TMNT books in one. Old school gamers, new gamers, comic book fans, Eastman and Laird fans, and TMNT fans of all kinds are going wild over these books. The ability to create any mutant animal hero you can imagine is a joy all by itself.

Play any style Ninja Turtles from the gritty Mirage Studios comic book Turtles and friends to the lighthearted TMNT of the cartoons and movies, or combine them and mutant animal heroes with Heroes Unlimited, Ninjas & Superspies, After the Bomb, and even Rifts! (Can anyone say Lone Star mutant animals?) If you love superheroes, mutants, martial arts, ninjas, and fast action, you’ll love these RPG books inspired by the gritty, black and white Mirage Studios comic books.

Palladium’s Website Maintenance & Upgrades

The PalladiumBooks.com webstore is open for business and working like a charm. A few weeks back, we had been experiencing some difficulty with the Palladium online store and website. Thanks to the diligence of Sean, Daniel, Rex, Wayne, and Alex the store has been back up and working well. Whew. We don’t want you to miss any sales, new releases, or those must-have Ninja Turtles books.

The Palladium Website, however, remains under construction as upgrades and improvements continue. As a result, parts of the website, like the Forums, are temporarily shut down. We don’t know how long this will all take, so please be patient and understanding. Thank you.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Palladium collectibles, books, artwork, and negatives, as well as action figures, toys, and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are available from this Ebay store! New items added regularly.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con, Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints.

Closing Thoughts – The Roller Coaster of Doom

Do you feel constantly bombarded by gloom and doom and conflicting information? The war in Iran is over, the war has restarted, the war will never end. Gas prices are dropping, gas prices are rising. Food prices are up, food prices are down. Artificial Intelligence is good, AI is bad. It’s like being trapped on the Roller Coaster of Doom! Heck, if you believe the media and army of doomsayers online, everything sucks: politics, our jobs, our society, our lives, movies, streaming, and it’s never going to get better.

Poppycock! You know what, I’m hopping off the Roller Coaster of Doom.

Sure there’s a lot of stuff that sucks, but there are a lot of things that are fun, funny, beautiful, and heartwarming. I’m choosing to be happy and positive. Trust me, life is much too short to live in constant anxiety, dread, and hate. I’m focusing on what I have control over and the people and things that make me happy. Yep, I’m jumping onto real-life’s shiny rollercoaster with my friends and family, and I’m going to enjoy myself. I’m gonna immerse myself in the games, books, comics, artwork, movies, comedies, and places (parks, museums, stores, etc.) that I enjoy and raise my spirits. I want to laugh and feel the warmth of sunlight on my face and friendship in my heart.

Like many of you, I had been feeling … well, up and down. But the downs were getting deeper, longer, and leaving me feeling worn out. The month of June is always rough for me since Kathy died. The end of May is Mother’s Day, early June is her birthday, later in June is Father’s Day and her daughter’s birthday, which were all special days shared with my sweet Kathy. Moreover, there have been a number of recent disappointments and frustrating issues. Add in a memorial for a dear friend and the omnipresent darkness and screams from the Roller Coaster of Doom, and my world was spiralling into a dark, dismal place, teetering on the edge of the abyss.

Well, I’m done with it! I have jumped off the Roller Coaster of Doom! I choose to be happy. I choose to be positive and have fun. I reject darkness and hopelessness in favor of happiness, positivity, and joy. And I invite you to do the same.

There were beautiful moments at my friend’s memorial last weekend and I came home to a wonderful surprise Father’s Day card and gift. In addition, I’ve never been prouder of the Palladium crew. When things went sideways with the Palladium webstore recently, the crew rose up in heroic fashion: Sean led the charge, Rex was superhuman, Wayne, Caleb, Alex, and the new guy, Daniel, all leaped into action like comic book superheroes. I love these guys. They all worked so hard as a team. It was beautiful and reaffirming. And other pals joined the fray too – Frank, J-M, John, Glen – a reminder that the world is not all dark and grim. There are plenty of good people and great friends. A positive reminder that the Palladium family is quietly amazing.

Please don’t give up on yourself or others. Life is challenging and even scary at times, but it’s also rewarding and beautiful. Drink in all of life’s splendor and revel in it. Be the light you wish the world to be and others will follow. We need that light more than ever, because even “Mister Positive Kevin” needs to see and feel it from time to time. We all do.

We’ve been working very hard to bring you books and videos to restore your sense of wonder. To give you avenues of escape from the darkness where you can find relief in the friendship, fun, and adventure provided by role-playing games. There is a positive energy burning through us all and with it the promise of new books, grand adventure, and new hope, now and in the months ahead.

So let your imaginations soar high into the sunny blue sky, away from the darkness. Let gaming and the friendship, stories, and fun lift your spirits and help keep you sane, positive, and ever hopeful. Choose the light and game on, my friends, game on.

Palladium Videos & Reels Are On Fire

Gamers are loving Palladium’s new video content. People new to Palladium and long-time supporters alike are loving our videos. You can find long-form video chats (20-45 minutes) on the Palladium Books YouTube channel, and 1-2 minute reels on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. The reels have been brief overviews of various Palladium RPGs. The newest have been for Rifts, but we have 4-6 for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, a couple for Nightbane, and many more are coming. My co-conspirator J-M DeFoggi and I are having fun making them and experimenting with tone, information, and visuals. Forgive us if we get a little silly sometimes or sound too serious at others. So far we’ve been hitting the right note. And don’t worry, Sean will be in the hot seat soon enough too. I can’t have all the fun.

COMING SOON! Live stream on Legion of Myth with Sean Owen Roberson and Kevin Siembieda – noon Eastern Time – July 5th. Yep, another fun chat with the guys and viewers about a bunch of different things. It’s always fun and we hope it’s insightful. You can check out our most recent chat below.

We can’t reveal much to you now, but wowser. There are ongoing efforts to bring you new sourcebooks over the next few years. We’ve been planning new crowdfunding campaigns, looking into another license that will delight you, trying to secure broader book distribution, expanding our social media presence, making a big marketing push, and … grrrr, I think that’s all I can say for now.

Glitter Boy Codex, a Rifts sourcebook – The cover and interior artwork are looking fantastic. This will be one of a few upcoming crowdfunders.

Rifts Bestiary Volume Two and other books are coming along, but slowly. Sean and I have been working on business matters and opportunities that should help make Palladium strong. Like you, we’d rather be writing book after book, but we also have business that splits our time. Fear not, all of this is great stuff and good for Palladium.

See Closing Thoughts for some more insight on this subject and boldly going where no one has gone before.

TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Books – Fun for all ages

These books are everything you could want for superhero adventure. Great for beginners or gamers looking to try something different. Play dark and violent like the original black and white comic that inspired this RPG, or with the silly whimsy of the cartoons or movies. Character creation is so much fun that many gamers create dozens of mutant animal heroes before they play their first adventure.

● TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux RPG – Cat. No. 502HC – 272 pages of fun and imagination. Create any mutant animal, 19 adventures to get you started. Includes the RPG and the Turtles Go Hollywood and Truckin’ Turtles sourcebooks, all in one big, full color hardcover – $59.99 retail.

Closing Thoughts – Boldly Go

Recently Sean and I have been catching up on Star Trek – having watched Picard season three (wonderful) and seasons one and two of Strange New Worlds (pretty good). Many people take away different things from these shows. For, this morning, “to boldly go where no one has gone before” looms on my mind, but on a more personal level.

Though our own world seems increasingly uncertain and scary these days, please don’t let that stop you from living your life to the fullest. Believe in yourself, follow your dreams, and boldly go.

I recently had a falling out with a friend. We had hoped to do a project together, but it became very apparent (to me at least) that this is a journey he needs to travel on his own. I hope he continues that journey, because it’s one he should take. It may be the harder way to go, but maybe it’s a path he’s meant to take. Maybe this is a journey of learning and growth. As long as he realizes you are always learning and pivoting on all fronts, he has a good shot at success. My friend certainly has the passion and the heart to pursue his dream and he’s already put a lot of hard work into it. Now he needs to go into the unknown and see where it carries him. Ultimately, it does not matter if he sinks or swims, he is boldly following his dream. Besides, I have discovered that we often learn more from our failures than from our successes. Challenges make us think harder to be creative, find solutions, and be our best selves.

We should all try to follow our dreams. Big or small, doesn’t matter, just find what brings joy and passion into your life.

Palladium Books has added a new person to its crew. Daniel Lansdown. He joined Palladium to follow his passion to be part of the gaming industry and vent his creative energy on many fronts. He’s a Ninja Turtles maniac and actually co-created the IDW boardgame: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures. So far he seems like an excellent addition to the team, but time will tell. Some of you will get to meet Daniel at Gen Con.

What’s that? It’s scary following your dream or to boldly go? There is no certainty of success and failure can be painful? Yes, all true. But don’t let that stop you! Boldly live your life with gusto and joy. Be curious and creative and appreciative. Take reasonable and calculated chances. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, is a famous saying. So give it a go. Everything is a risk. Just try to make it a calculated risk. Try to be smart. Hedge your bets with research, trust your gut instinct, prepare for the risks as best you can, and then, as my friend Larry Jordan would say, “hold your nose and jump into the unknown.”

Even today, after 45 years of running Palladium Books and creating role-playing games of all kinds, there are scary risks and uncertainty all the stinkin’ time. Life is scary. Business is scary, especially when you have a crew of people counting on you for their livelihood and a legion of fans you don’t want to disappoint. Every time we take the chance to pursue new avenues of creation, production, marketing, and licensing, it’s uncertain and scary. Every book Sean or I write – no matter how good we may think it is – its success is uncertain. When we go into new territory and try new things it’s even scarier and less certain.

Right now is a scary time for all of us, but please don’t let the Iran War and economic uncertainty paralyze you. Boldly go! Businesses all around us are floundering, our sales are up and down, yet Palladium is making aggressive moves. Strategic moves to seize opportunities and make the company stronger. We’re bringing in new people and taking chances to build a stronger foundation and drive prosperity. Foundational work that is critical to make a new era of prodigious role-playing game releases and unbound creativity a reality. Business strategies are a different type of creativity calculated to make Palladium much stronger in the long run. It’s all a ton of work (and worry), but it’s also invigorating and exciting. The possibilities seem endless as we focus on what needs to be done now, but with an eye on the future.

We hope you’ll begin to see the fruits of our labor in the months ahead. Until then, please stay with us as we boldly go forward. We need your support. Please stick with us, take advantage of every sale, buy the occasional new release, and spread the word about Palladium’s game lines to help us grow. There are so many gamers who have yet to discover the Palladium Megaverse. Help them find us, won’t you. Fun things are brewing. And we are doing them together.

In the end, life is a thrill ride with some scary twists and turns, but it’s worth every moment, and like every great ride, it ends too soon. So boldly go where you’ve not gone before, try not to be too scared, and enjoy the ride.

Rare Palladium Collectibles Now Available

at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

— and they are on sale right now!

Closing Thoughts – It’s a Crazy World

Yesterday I had two friends tell me that “it’s a freaking crazy world out there.” For sure. Just try not to let all that craziness drive you absolutely bonkers! Seriously.

Find escape in reading and playing role-playing games, or reading comic books or novels, watching a movie, going to art fairs, walking outdoors, bike riding, sports, music (I’ve been listening to a lot of music), feeding the squirrels, getting together with friends and family, and whatever else helps you to unwind, relax a little, and escape what can feel like an all too crushing reality.

The last four weeks here in Palladiumville have been especially crazy. There have been unexpected moments, laughter, frustration, disappointment, anger, sorrow, fun, and silliness. We’re going through all kinds of changes for the better. People are coming and going, conventions and marketing are being planned, contract negotiations are underway, and business stuff is flying at us from all directions. And that’s on top of the day-to-day demands and work on books. There are some days that are positively dizzying.

Don’t be afraid to try new things. In fact, I encourage it. Try not to go into whatever it may be with strong expectations. Enter into it with an open mind and willingness to be flexible, especially when it involves being creative. We’re doing just that as we explore all kinds of options in social media and streaming video. A lot of people suggest a great many things and some insist it must be done one certain way. Ah, but experience has taught me there’s never just one way to do anything. I like to research and try multiple approaches. So we listen, consider, trust the people we know, and try an array of things to see which works best. We are experimenting like crazy and having fun doing it. And that’s the point, try new things, learn, improve, and most of all have fun doing it.

When we went to see the Mandalorian & Grogu we did so without expectations and looooved it. We found it to be a fun, uplifting, action adventure movie. I recently tried some comic books I wouldn’t normally buy, but gave ‘em a try on the recommendation of the store manager who I have learned to trust. I thoroughly enjoyed two and didn’t care for the third, but I was glad I gave them a try.

In short, try new things – little things – to temporarily escape from this crazy world. AND appreciate everything you have: your friends, family, a beautiful summer day, and the little many little things that make you smile. Stop. Take a deep breath, and marvel at the blue sky, cool cloud formations, the budding flowers, and think to yourself, “life is good.” On the ride home from an outing, Sean and I marveled at the brightest, widest, double rainbow either of us had ever seen. It was a joyful moment and one shared with a friend.

I’ve been enjoying glorious morning walks before I go to work and savor the songs of robins singing away, the cool breeze, and crisp blue sky. The other day, a hummingbird flew right up to me and hovered for a moment as if to say, good morning, sir. It was amazing. Enjoy those moments. Feel the joy and sense of wonder and peace they bring. Use those moments to recharge and catch your breath. Let those special activities and occurrences remind you that the world is not only filled with crime and hate, ugliness and fear, but beauty, joy, and goodness.

I hope our Fantasy, Nightbane, and DriveThruRPG sales bring you a little excitement and joy. The same with the awesome TMNT & Other Strangeness books and that “crazy” Nightbane Audiobook crowdfunder with those attractive foil hardcover Nightbane books. I keep telling folks, those books (and dice set) will be super-limited editions that will only go up in value on the collectors market, plus they’re just cool to own. Ah, but that’s the collector in me talking.

Stay frosty, hang tough, enjoy the little moments, and stop watching so much news and political negativity. Switch to some comedies, listen to some music, and do things that make you smile and sing like a robin.
