Hey Everyone, the Surprise Package deal is over. We want to thank everyone who participated. It’s our pleasure to do them for you. The Surprise Package offer will not be available again until next Christmas season, so start saving now.
I’m a special guest at PAGE – the Philadelphia Area Game Expo, which means I cannot pull your grab bag orders from your Wish List or sign your books until I get back next Monday. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
The Philadelphia Area Game Expo sounds pretty awesome with a huge emphasis on role-playing games and their creators – something like 100 RPG guests will be in attendance and I’m honored to be one of the Special Guests. I hope to see a lot of fans swing by my table to say hello and snag some TMNT and other RPG books, chat, and get autographs. I only have one small booth so the focus is on TMNT & Other Strangeness. By the way, Matthew Balent, OG from the Detroit Gaming Center and early days of Palladium Books has his table right next to mine. Come visit us.
Gamers are raving about the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux products – now available from Palladium Books
Everyone is going wild over the color and the Black White & Red Edition books, dice set, and GM screen. They are much more than “just reprints” which is what some people assume they are. If you loved the original RPG and sourcebooks you will adore these new, full color (or black, white and red) books. They also make great gifts for birthdays and anniversaries for any TMNT fan, not just gamers, because there are 100+ illustrations by Eastman and Laird as well as art by other Mirage studio artists and top illustrators. This makes the books appealing to comic book collectors and all TMNT fans, not gamers alone. Note: These products will begin to arrive on store shelves over the next week or two, while supplies last. The bonus PDF adventure by Sophie Campbell and me is in the final editing and tweaking stage. You kept us so busy from November till now that I could barely find time to work on it. Fear not, it’s coming to you, our Backers.

However, that has left us temporarily out of stock of many fan favorite titles like Mysteries of Magic, Bizantium, Aliens Unlimited, Rifts England, Rifts Northern Gun 1 & 2, China 1 & 2, Rifts Adventure Guide, Rifts Atlantis, Bionics Sourcebook, Fleets of the 3 Galaxies, Thundercloud Galaxy, and even Rifts Psi-Ops Psychic War, amongst others. We’re working on getting something like 20 titles (out of stock or running low) sent to the printers but you’re probably looking at the end of February or mid-March for most of them. |

Palladium is looking for experienced Game Masters to run Palladium RPG events at Gen Con. That can be any of our game worlds using our rules as well as Rifts® for Savage Worlds. If you were thinking about running games at Gen Con or want to help out Palladium, please coordinate with Palladium Books in order to get a dedicated room and other perks like a free Game Master badge, and discounts on your purchases at the Palladium Books booth.
To earn a free GM badge, all you need to do is run 4 games with 6 or more players in each game, 4 hours each. This will earn you enough credits with Gen Con to earn a GM badge – $155 value!
We hope to add to our usual crew of Gen Con Game Masters to run Palladium game events for any Palladium setting:
We need your commitment, game description and info by March 28. Send to Jeff Ruiz, aka NMI, via email at nmi {at} thedeificnmi.com
Game Masters and Game Event Descriptions NEEDED by March 28, 2025.
(See Gen Con’s website for details about the info needed for each game listing; G.M.’s name, number of players, length of time, name of game, difficulty level, etc.) Submitting your games to us enables Palladium to coordinate and submit them as a batch to Gen Con and guarantees to have your event listed in the onsite Gen Con Program Book. Being listed onsite is very important to have full attendance for your event. This date gives us enough time to compile and send Gen Con everything they need. Thank you!

COMING! RPG Pundit Live Stream with Kevin Siembieda – Sunday, January 25, 2026 – probably around 6 PM Central / 7 PM Eastern (exact time to be determined). The topic will be Remembering Erick Wujcik who would have turned 75 this month. We’ll talk about Erick the man, the gamer, and the game designer as well as the Detroit Gaming Center, TMNT & Other Strangeness, how Erick and I worked together (we were each other’s muse and sounding board), and a zillion other stories, so this should be fun. The Palladium Books YouTube Channel continually posts new, timeless interviews and chats every two weeks, and with the holiday season we’ve been posting bonus episodes! Gamers and industry professionals are loving these informal and fun chats, so try a few, and please spread the word.

– The Glitterbois / Breakfast Puppies – Kevin Siembieda and the guys create characters and play in a Palladium Fantasy game. I, Kevin, am one of the 4 players (I rolled up a Goblin Cobbler Thief named Weasel Pete). It is both fun and informative. We used first edition rules. |
|
| | | – Ever wonder what Palladium’s game design philosophy is? Find out by watching or listening to the Legion of Myth marathon discussion with Sean Owen Roberson and Kevin Siembieda. It is fun, informative, and has applications for creating tabletop campaigns. TMNT is the primary example of discussion. |

| | | Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store |
|
| Palladium collectibles, books, artwork, and negatives, as well as action figures, toys, and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are available from this Ebay store!
One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display.
Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints. And they are on sale right now! |

| | | CLOSING THOUGHTS – PAGE & Conventions 2026 |
|
|
I’m nervous about traveling alone and attending PAGE as one of the Special Guests. I haven’t done a lot of traveling, especially flying, or being a special guest in probably a decade. I always worry I will disappoint.
It’s not that I don’t like to be a guest at conventions, I do, but I’m always so busy and I hate traveling alone. I much prefer to have a traveling companion, but most conventions can’t afford two of us, and if the other person is a Palladium staffer, that’s two of us absent from work for 4-5 days. Worse, I’m not the greatest at mingling and networking. I have my moments and I love the fans, but that shy kid sneaks out when I’m at a new venue filled with people I don’t know. Silly, but true.
That said, I am nervously looking forward to the Philadelphia Area Game Expo (PAGE). It sounds pretty awesome and there will be at least a dozen industry people there that I already know. Heck, by the time you’re reading this the convention will be in full swing.
The next event I’ll be attending is the GAMA Tradeshow in Louisville, Kentucky, March 5-8. This is an industry event, but we always encourage retailers and their managers to stop by the Palladium Books booth to chat, get the latest news, and to bring books for me and Wayne to sign.
Gen Con is probably the next and last event of the year for me and Palladium. That’s the big game event of the year at Indianapolis, Indiana, end of July and early August. Come on over and visit us.
Toying with the idea of attending Granite State Comic Con because Kevin Eastman and other TMNT artist buddies will be there, but it’s a long, grueling drive even for 2-3 of us, so probably not.
I think that’s it for this Update. I hope to see some of you at PAGE. Please continue to spread the word about the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Editions. We really did put our hearts and souls into these beautiful and fun RPG books, and enjoy the fan statements pulled from the comment sections of Surprise Packages. – Kevin Siembieda, Game Designer, Writer, Friend

| Surprise Package comments from fans like you |
|
|
Even though the Christmas Surprise Package deal is over until next Christmas season, we like to continue to post customer comments through the end of January. It’s a nice acknowledgement and thank you to them (you know who you are) and you enjoy reading them as much as we do. I read each and every comment that comes in the Surprise Packages and I like to post a brief response to the ones that appear in these Updates.
Now you need to focus on getting your copy of the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux books, G.M. Screen, and dice while supplies last, especially if you want a first printing. We suspect once they hit store shelves the first printing will sell out fast, just like the original TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG and sourcebooks back in the 1980s. You know you don’t want to get caught in between print runs for a few months as you wait for the next printings to arrive from China. Everyone is raving about the quality and fun content of what is one of the most beloved RPGs of all time – given the deluxe treatment it deserves. You’ll love them. Now onto fan comments. |

A.B. in Suffield, Ohio, writes: I just wanted to thank you all. Your RPGs helped me get better at storytelling. Now I’m in the process of getting my own modern Fantasy book published. Thanks for having such a diverse system that allows my players to do insane things and still not be the strongest characters in the room.
[That’s pretty cool, A.B., good luck and game on! – Kevin]
B.M. in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, writes: Thanks for extending the sale into January [ended January 14th]. I was waiting for all my TMNT Kickstarter stuff to arrive before getting a package this year. Everything showed up a couple weeks ago and looks fantastic.
[Glad to hear it, B.M. Folks are loving the TMNT & Other Strangeness products and go absolutely gaga over the books. That includes non-gamers. It’s rewarding to see because we all put our hearts and souls into them. Game on! – Kevin]
H.H. in Albany, Oregon, writes: This is my second Surprise Package. By the way, the After the Bomb® Starter Pack is awesome! I’m loving the community as well.
[That’s great! We are thrilled you’re enjoying your entire Palladium Books experience, H.H. The discounted After the Bomb® Starter Pack is a great way to get additional mutant animals and source material for it and for TMNT & Other Strangeness too. Game on! – Kevin]
R.D. in Lebanon, Tennessee, writes (in part): … keep releasing all the bad ass content that we have loved and cherished over the years. All of us out here love you guys to pieces.
[The feeling is mutual R.D. and friends. And you can count on more pulse-pounding releases coming your way in the months and years to come. – Kevin]
S.C. in Burbank, California, writes: Just getting back into Rifts after a 10 year lapse. Pulling out my old books that I got as a kid in the 90s so I can now share it with my own son is a trip! Keep up the good work.
[We will, S.C. Welcome back to the Rifts Megaverse® and you have fun gaming with your son. Heck, next thing you’ll know, he’ll be G.M.ing for you. – Kevin]
D.B. in Morgantown West Virginia, writes: Most favorite: Rifts®, Savage Rifts®, TMNT & Other Strangeness, and Heroes Unlimited. Love the games. All of them!
[Thanks, D.B., me too. lol. Game on. – Kevin]
P.D. in Kingwood, Texas, writes: Kevin and Team– thanks for keeping the tradition of extending the Surprise Package. For me it’s a tradition of looking at my Christmas haul and saying to myself, “I need a little more.” Thanks.
[You’re welcome, P.D., enjoy your haul. The rest of you will have to wait till next Christmas to get yours, but watch for other sales coming in spring. – Kevin]
T.P. in Ogden, Utah, writes: I truly appreciate the many games I’ve played from Palladium Books over the years, starting with the original Rifts® back in 1993 when I was AIT in the Army. Since then I acquired all of the Robotech and Macross II books and many more. You guys and gals are awesome. I hope Palladium Books remains in business for years to come.
[Thanks, T.P., and thank you for your service. We’re putting things in place to keep Palladium going for decades. And boy, oh, boy, do Sean and I have ideas for the future that you’re gonna love. – Kevin]
J.M. in Columbus, Indiana, writes: I was told to ask about Open House tickets. Seriously though, I appreciate all the hard work you guys have put in (to everything). I am catching up on the Glitterbois episodes and enjoyed the interviews with Kevin and Ramon.
[It’s funny, J.M., after almost every Open House I would say it might be the last, but in 2023, I did not, and it might be the last one. We’ve talked about and thought about doing another one, but it just won’t be the same without Julius Rosenstein and Kathy Simmons. Both played a huge role in its operation and I miss them both deeply. We are also reorganizing the company and the warehouse, so I just don’t know. I am delighted that you and so many others enjoy the Glitterbois interviews with me, Sean Roberson, Ramon Perez, and other Palladium creators. You must watch or listen to the dozens of timeless interviews between me and J-M DeFoggi on the history of Palladium and our many game books on the Palladium Books YouTube channel as well as on Legion of Myth, Turtle Track, (RPG Pundit coming the January 25th) and others. – Kevin]
R.M. in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, writes: I have been a fan for many years and you all have done a wonderful job making books that inspire the imagination.
[Thank you R.M., our mission is accomplished. I love to stoke the fire of imagination in other people and we’ll continue to do so. That’s part of Palladium’s legacy.. – Kevin]
C.W. in Reston, Virginia, writes: I’ve been playing and Game Mastering RPGs since [the day that] my brother brought home a copy of TMNT & Other Strangeness in 1991. I then purchased Heroes Unlimited Revised and Robotech with my hard-earned allowance money and never looked back! Since then, I’ve played a million games and a million systems and always enjoy Palladium’s art and writing.
[I’m happy we started you on your RPG journey, C.W., and that you continue to enjoy our work along with many others. Keep your splendid imagination burning bright. – Kevin]
