CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Horror Sale & News – Palladium Books^® – Weekly Update – August 14, 2025

The big news this Weekly Update is Palladium’s Big Scary Horror Sale offering 30-50% discounts on Dead Reign, Nightbane, and most of our horror titles as well as select other products. That’s a sale of physical books and PDFs available directly from Palladium. See details below.

Otherwise, we are crazy busy plotting, planning, and working on a number of books and other projects. Not to mention the final manufacturing and shipping of the miniatures and a few other rewards for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness Redux RPG. We anticipate getting backers their individual shipping cost and charging for shipping around the end of September or mid-October, and shipping worldwide sometime after that. When we have firm numbers and ship dates, we’ll let you know.

Everyone – including hundreds of fans and backers at Gen Con and the folks at Nickelodeon – who sees the advance copies of the TMNT & Other Strangeness books and Kickstarter rewards are over the moon with joy and love what they see. Sean and I cannot wait to get these into your hands.

The Rifts® 35 Year Celebration will continue. In fact, we intend to make the entire month of September “Rifts Month,” but Palladium has many other popular game lines. Gen Con reminded us of just how popular the Dead Reign RPG (the Zombie Apocalypse) and sourcebooks are when they were our third best selling game line at the event! Nightbane was up there too.

New! Palladium’s Big Scary Horror Sale – 30-50% savings while supplies last

As Gen Con sales illustrated, Dead Reign (the Zombie Apocalypse Palladium style) is one of our most popular game settings and seems to be growing in popularity. It may be one of the best Zombie RPGs on the market. Though the setting is familiar, the zombies and how they function are truly unique and fit within the Megaverse. Which means you can drop them into any other Palladium RPG setting from Fantasy to Heroes Unlimited to Rifts.

Palladium zombies hunt the living to devour their P.P.E./life energy. We also explain and define the zombie moan, why they converge in massive groups, how they go into hibernation when their food source is not plentiful or they become trapped, as well as offer many different types of zombies that all make sense. Plus fun player characters, ordinary people, random search and discovery tables, tips for surviving the Zombie Apocalypse, and more. Dead Reign sourcebooks provide new zombies, other bad guys and dangers, more tables, more settings, adventure ideas, and scary fun. Nightbane (Urban Fantasy) and Beyond the Supernatural (modern horror) remain two fan favorite settings as well. So you can plan for your Halloween RPG games and winter campaigns, we thought we’d put our horror game lines and select other horror-based titles on sale for you right now.

Physical books and PDFs are on sale at www.PalladiumBooks.com, as well as select horror PDFs sold on DriveThruRPG. Start planning your autumn, winter, and Halloween horror campaigns now while you can snap up the RPGs and sourcebooks on sale. Available while supplies last.

Dungeon Dwelling Creatures Crowdfunder

The cool twist of this Fantasy RPG is that you play the monsters that battle heroes and invaders of your dungeon home who attack you just because you’re a monster. It uses the DCC rules and is a project being produced by a friend. If it sounds fun to you, check it out and follow the crowdfunder campaign. Note: This project launched on August first, has already reached its goal, and is going strong, so take a look.

SALE! Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Palladium collectibles as well as action figures and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are on sale!

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display.

Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints. And they are on sale right now!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Horror Sale and stuff

Gen Con was excellent but exhausting. I think we’re all only getting back up to speed this week and catching up with correspondence. We’re trying to keep all the projects moving forward, with an emphasis on delivering the TMNT & Other Strangeness Kickstarter rewards. Everything looks so darn good. Cannot wait to put them in your hands.

Working on other books and projects, assigning covers, and doing editing, rewrites, etc. We want to close out the year with a bang.

We are pleased to see that Dead Reign sales have not only remained strong, but continue to find a growing audience. That’s awesome! I think word of mouth and the popularity of zombie stories in cinema and on TV/streaming help. It is a great game with many fun and unique features for playing the Zombie Apocalypse. Dead Reign, Palladium Fantasy and Beyond the Supernatural are my three go-to settings when I run gaming events or something off the cuff. If you haven’t checked out Dead Reign, I recommend you do so. And take advantage of Palladium’s Big Scary Horror Sale to get big savings – 30-50% off – over the next week or two.

That’s it for now. More to come so continue to skim these updates for the latest news and sales, and keep your imaginations burning bright.
