CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

5 Weeks till Xmas – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – November 21, 2025

Holy Moley, Thanksgiving and Black Friday are next week. Christmas is only 5 weeks away – make that 4 weeks to account for shipping! Place your orders soon to get them in time for Christmas.

Order your Christmas Surprise Packages – the best deal in gaming – and whatever else you may want before the Christmas rush that starts with Black Friday! And, of course, watch for Palladium’s Black Friday Sale (which starts next Wednesday night) and Cyber-Monday Sale.

The Turtles are Coming, the Turtles are Coming …

TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Kickstarter rewards are shipping across the USA right now! We have four shipping partners – one in the USA, one in Canada, another in the EU/UK, and one in Australia. It is my understanding everything should be shipping around the same time, but I’m not certain.

You can still pre-order the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG books, Black White and Red Editions, GM Screen, and Mutagen Green Dice in Palladium’s online store right NOW! This means your order will be among the very first books shipped when they go live in Palladium’s online store mid-December. It all depends on how quickly the 8,000+ Kickstarter rewards get shipped out by our fulfillment partners. These products should be hitting stores late December. NOTE: TMNT books are too new to include in the Surprise Packages. We hope you understand.

Turtle Tracks interview with Kevin Siembieda & Sean Roberson. We have a fun talk about the Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness RPG, past and present. It’s a fun time.

You can hear chats about TMNT and many other Palladium RPGs and gaming topics on the Palladium Books YouTube channel as well as on Legion of Myth and The Glitterbois podcast.

What is a Christmas Surprise Package?

A smile and a hug that comes in a box filled with signed game books from available Palladium staff and freelancers. It is a way for you to get physical books (and autographs if you want them) at PDF prices! $105+ worth of Palladium products for only $62 (plus shipping)! That can nab you 4-6 books, and these days one core rule book can cost you that or more.

Christmas Surprise Packages are our way of saying thank you for your support and showing you our love and appreciation. It’s a surprise because you never know exactly what you’re going to get or who will sign your books, because we pick from your Wishlist and may surprise you with stuff you are not expecting. Extra items may include other RPGs, sourcebooks, issues of the Rifter®, miniatures, prints, art books, poker deck, notepad, greeting cards, T-shirts, and other items. Some books may be slightly damaged (scuffs, scratches, dings, a bent or crunched corner, etc.) so we can send you more.

No other RPG company on the planet has an offer like this. Truly the best deal in gaming to get unique and special holiday gifts for the gamers in your life, or for yourself.

Christmas Surprise Packages are not just for Christmas. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or the Winter Solstice, or you are looking for that special gift for a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or any special occasion that falls between now and the end of the year, a Surprise Package may be the ideal way to go. You get a ton of stuff on the cheap, you can get a bunch of autographs (if you want ‘em), and you look like you spent a fortune.

This is a great way to try that game setting you’ve wondered about – After the Bomb®, Beyond the Supernatural, Chaos Earth®, Dead Reign®, Heroes Unlimited, Ninjas & Superspies, Palladium Fantasy, Nightbane®, Rifts®, RECON, Splicers®, Systems Failure, etc. — or to get something for your favorite Game Master. Or perhaps, to get your player group to consider a new game or setting.

Your “Wishlist” is vital – the Palladium Surprise Packages are designed to simulate the joy and surprise of the Christmas Season of Giving. To do this, you submit a list of 12-15 Palladium products (or more) FOR EACH Surprise Package you order. This list of 12-15 items for EACH Grab Bag is critical, because you will not know which items we will select to send you. That makes it just like a Christmas gift because it’s a surprise. Plus, Surrogate Santa, Kevin, who personally hand-picks every item for every Grab Bag, may toss in something extra like a limited edition print, notepad, negative, an issue of The Rifter®, or something else he thinks you’ll enjoy.

Autographed books. For those of you who want them (which are most people), available members of the Palladium staff, and any freelancers we can lasso at the time, are happy to autograph each and every book in your Surprise Package. This is the only way many fans across the country and overseas can ever get signed books.

Send us your brief comments. There is a special form and format to fill out for Christmas Surprise Packages, including a place where you can offer your brief comments, suggestions, greetings and salutations.

First-timers are always nervous until they see the great value in their first Surprise Package. A typical Grab Bag has $105+ worth of product and often more. Yes, more, for only $62 plus shipping. Many people order 2-3. Some order 4-6, and some maniacs order even more! It makes sense, because it is a great way to fill holes in your own collection, treat yourself, get autographs, try new games and settings, rebuild your collection, replace worn out books, and get your gaming pals gifts. Only from PalladiumBooks. Note: Search online for Palladium Surprise Package unboxing videos to get an idea of what you can expect to receive. I know the Glitterbois and Legion of Myth, among others, have such videos.

To those of you outside the USA, the X-Mas Surprise Package is a way to get books and circumvent the damn high cost of shipping from the United States, since you are getting $110 (often more) worth of product and only paying $62 plus shipping. Shipping via Priority Mail International (required for packages weighing more than four pounds) to most locations in Europe, Canada, and many other countries is around $70-$90 US dollars. HOWEVER, because the cost of the product is so low, that’s the equivalent of paying retail for the products and only $20-$40 for shipping. A very good deal. Plus you get autographs if you want them! X-Mas Surprise Packages are the way to go for those of you outside the USA. Please take advantage of it to get all those products you’ve wished you could get except the shipping was too prohibitive. We feel your pain. Game on!

Please spread the word. The Christmas Surprise Package is only publicized by word of mouth, on Palladium’s website, and social media, so please tell everyone you know. Buy one for every gamer you know. They make astonishing gifts for every occasion. Only from PalladiumBooks.com – happy holidays.

NOTE: TMNT books are too new to include in the Surprise Packages. We hope you understand. Order soon to get in time for Christmas.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Palladium collectibles as well as action figures and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are on sale!

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display.

Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints. And they are on sale right now!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Surprise Package comments from fans like you

Every year we like to post a selection of the comments we get from Surprise Package customers. It’s a nice acknowledgement and thank you to them (you know who you are) and you enjoy reading them. I read each and every comment that comes in the Surprise Packages, and they always brighten my day. We all appreciate your kind words, suggestions, and insights. In fact, the idea to do hardcover editions of core rule books came from fan comments in the Grab Bags. We get a lot so we can only offer a sampling of these comments in the Weekly Updates.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have stuck with Palladium through thick and thin and now these new chaotic times. Please use our games to find escape from your day to day grind and worries. Use them to bring a little joy, laughter, and adventure to the holiday season and beyond.

Your comments and support mean the world to all of us. Thank you for making us smile and feel valued. As always, I have tried to write a short response [in brackets] to each comment. Happy holidays.

Lining up new releases

I think I’m equal parts excited and exhausted. The entire Palladium team has been working long hours and weekends to make sure the shipping of both TMNT & Other Strangeness and Christmas Surprise Packages goes smoothly.

Meanwhile, we are working on several book releases for the first half of 2026 as well as other things coming in the new year plus day to day duties. It may seem quiet and like no books are being produced, but that is a false illusion. A lot is getting done.

For example:

Mike Majestic just turned in two illustrations of a couple of new monsters for Rifts Bestiary Volume 2 earlier this week. Mike also turned in six pieces of new artwork for Yin-Sloth Expeditions (Fantasy) including the City of Dragons and the Sea Giant’s city.

Steven Cummings is wrapping up the artwork for Rifts Chaos Earth: First Responders. This top comic book talent is doing all of the art for this book. It looks great.

Among a zillion other things, Jeremy Colantonio has been working on the final updates and tweaks for Island at the Edge of the World (Fantasy, 2nd edition rules), AND I had Jeremy Colwell add grayscale tones to most of the artwork to enhance the line art and make it pop and feel new. This will be another remastered edition with new typesetting, layout, updated stats, clarifications, and other tweaks and improvements.

Art doesn’t get magically done. We need to say more to the artist than draw me a dragon. It typically takes weeks, often months, to get the artwork done, especially when one or two artists are doing all or most of the artwork for it. It also requires art direction, written descriptions, reference materials, and conversations with me and/or Sean, followed by approval of the pencils and inks, changes along the way, and final approval before the art is done. All of which adds to the time it takes for us to write the books when we’re also the authors and art directors, but the end results are stunning. By the way, all of these books are looking awesome and the writing is coming along.

These are just some of the things we have in motion. I can’t yet reveal the rest but you’ll be pleased. Very pleased.

For the immediate time being, the release and shipping of the hotly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness is our top priority, but many other exciting books and projects are in motion.

We are working hard, so keep the faith and those imaginations burning bright. Oh, and order yourself and any special gamer in your life a Surprise Package before the Christmas rush. They are fantastic, a huge savings, and fun.

– Kevin Siembieda (and the Palladium Crew)

L.B. in Kyle, Texas, writes: Thank you for still keeping this [Surprise Package] alive! You are appreciated.

[L.B., you are very welcome. We love making our fellow gamers smile and feel like a child on Christmas morning. – Kevin]

M.L. in Manistee, Michigan, writes (in part): Love your stuff! Haven’t played since the 90s but jumping back in. Had a cat named Prosek.

[Welcome back to Rifts®, M.L. – a cat named Prosek, how cool is that? I hope you enjoy your return to the Palladium Megaverse. Might I suggest Dead Reign RPG and/or TMNT & Other Strangeness, both have clear, straightforward combat and unique characters. I think you’d enjoy them both. – Kevin]

R.D. in Seattle, Washington, writes: My first package this year was delightful, so I’m ordering another. Thanks for your work putting these together.

[Our pleasure, R.D., we hope you enjoy the second one just as much. – Kevin]

J.L. in Passaic, New Jersey, writes: I enjoy the games and rebuilding my collection after I lost all my books. Just wish you’d put out the long promised books before you start doing new ones. First Responders and the magic book for Beyond the Supernatural being examples.

[Hey J.L., you’re smart to use the Surprise Package deal to rebuild your collection. We agree with you about releasing long awaited books, which is why Sean is working on First Responders and Rifts Bestiary Vol. 2, both for 2026 releases, and I’m working on expanded Yin-Sloth Expeditions (see Closing Thoughts). Meanwhile, Island at the Edge of the World (Fantasy, 2nd edition rules) is in production too. Furthermore, we hope to release the Beyond Arcanum and Tome Grotesque BTS sourcebooks Fall 2026. As for new titles, sorry, sometimes we have to run with inspiration when it strikes. Most of the time, it’s usually books written by a freelancer that we jump in to polish up for release. By the way, we see Redux editions like TMNT & Other Strangeness as bringing back fan-favorite books that people want. – Kevin]

K.B. in Winnipeg, Canada, writes (in part): Robotech® is the first TTRPG I ever played and will always hold a special place in my heart. That OG Keith Parkinson cover was why I bought [Rifts] and then I loved the kitchen sink approach to the world … You guys do an awesome job. Thanks for making games that got me into RPGs and led to so many fun times with friends growing up and as an adult.

[K.B., it’s our honor and joy to make games that people love. Keep your wonderful imagination burning bright. – Kevin]

A.C. in Essex Junction, Vermont, writes: Even though I don’t get to use the books to play that often, I love the artwork and storytelling. Thank you for 30+ years of fun and creativity.

[We are always thrilled to hear this, A.C., enjoy. Thank you for your many years of support. – Kevin]

C.R. in Castroville, Texas, writes: Favorites: Phase World®, I’m really eating it up and can’t wait for more. Dead Reign® and Heroes Unlimited make for a phenomenal mixed world a la Peter Cline’s ExHeroes series. Hoping everyone is having an excellent holiday season. Time for filling in my Palladium shelves.

[I love it C.R., what an imagination. Keep at it and game on. – Kevin]

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

X-Mas Sale & News – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – November 6, 2025

Hello My Fellow Humans. There’s a lot of news so please, read on.

Palladium’s new online store and website has been experiencing occasional outages, sometimes blocking access for all users. Grrrr. We are so sorry you were turned away!

We believe we have addressed the underlying problems, but identifying the root cause has been challenging. We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation as we continue to work through any new issues that may arise. The most effective way to report a problem is by emailing helpdesk {at} palladiumbooks.com or by calling our office at 734-721-2900 when you encounter an issue with the site. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Please come back! 15 reprints are back in stock and you know you want to get at least one Christmas Surprise Package, the best deal in gaming! (See details below.) And of course, you need to get the gorgeous, full color, TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG books coming in December in time for the holidays (see details below). Note: All TMNT & Other Strangeness Kickstarter rewards and exclusives start shipping to our 8,000+ Kickstarter Backers later this month. If that’s not good news, I don’t know what is. Read my Closing Thoughts for more about TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Editions which are so much more than reprints of the original game and sourcebooks.

Palladium’s Christmas Surprise Packages – now shipping

You are guaranteed $105+ worth of books and products for only $62 (plus shipping) – but a typical Surprise Package is more like $110+ worth of gaming goodies. As always, if you would like me (Kevin) and available Palladium staff to sign all your books, we are happy to do so. For many people it’s the only way to get signed books or a Kevin Siembieda Dragon Head sketch. Order early and often.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

An exciting week

Despite the government shutdown, our concern for many of you, and the prevailing malaise we see all around us, here at Palladium Books we had an exciting week and we’re getting very excited about the weeks ahead.

One reason, books are back in stock! 15 of the 30+ reprint titles arrived on Monday, so many of the titles that have been out of print are now available. This is after a SNAFU at our printer and a series of long delays. The next batch of reprints should arrive the week of November 17 (maybe sooner), which means most of our books will be available to you in time for Christmas! Whew, what a relief.

A second reason, Christmas Surprise Package shipping is in full swing. As I talked about in last week’s Closing Thoughts, the Palladium crew and I love making this fun special offer available every year with deep discounts and signed books. Try one, you will not regret it. But fair warning: You may end up buying several for yourself and/or the gamers in your life. You can read some of the Comments from fans like you right after these Closing Thoughts.

A third reason is Sophie Campbell’s draft for the brand new, TMNT & Other Strangeness digital adventure exclusive for Kickstarter Backers, has arrived. It’s fun. I’m reformatting, adding some details, and putting the finishing touches on it this weekend.

Another reason is the anticipation by distributors and retailers for TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Editions and future Palladium titles. They, like the rest of us, can’t wait to get the TMNT & OS books, GM screen, and dice. They’re also supportive of the new Rifts and Fantasy books in the pipeline. Their excitement gets us excited.

The BIGGEST reason for excitement: The TMNT & Other Strangeness Kickstarter rewards start shipping in a couple of weeks! What a journey it has been. We cannot wait until these books and rewards are in your hands. It’s one thing for us to tell you how beautiful they are or to see images online or even actual samples at conventions, but it’s an entirely different and joyful experience when you actually hold your copy in your hands and take your time looking at all the gorgeous art, skim the 80+ mutant animals, read about mutant dinosaurs and time travel, and enjoy the many written remembrances and new splash page tribute art.

The TMNT & Other Strangeness books are truly a work of passion by me and Sean, and everyone who contributed. We love and appreciate the fans of the original RPG, the TMNT fans, TMNT artists, and most of all, we adore Erick Wujcik, Kevin Eastman, and Peter Laird. So from the first second Sean and I began talking about the Redux editions and Kickstarter rewards, we set out to make it all feel brand new, special, and glorious. It has been a privilege to honor them and give service to so many fans across the entire spectrum of Ninja Turtles fandom.

You have no idea what truly big fans Sophie Campbell, Freddie E. Williams II, the Mirage Studio artists, Ciro Nieli, Rawson Marshall Thurber, and EVERYONE who contributed to these books are of the NInja Turtles and the original RPG. It was like a fantastic dream hearing their stories and working with these talented, and in some cases legendary, artists, writers, and filmmakers.

I hope you’re excited too. Not just about the remastered Redux RPG releases, but the Christmas Surprise Package offer, the new (if buggy) Palladium website and store, and everything Palladium Books is moving toward. We do it all with you in mind and the goal of inflaming your imaginations with wonderment and joy, year round.

For many people it’s the only way to get signed books or a Kevin Siembieda Dragon Head sketch along with other goodies. Order early and often.

NEW! One-of-a-kind negatives from classic Rifts^® titles, signed by Kevin Siembieda

I will continue to add new Rifts negatives to my (Kevin) personal Ebay store till Christmas. Negatives look awesome, and are suitable for framing. Most game and book publishers threw away the negatives when printing companies switched from film to digital printing. Palladium kept book negatives for several dozen books and from time to time we make them available for sale. They are super-rare one- (sometimes two-) of-a-kind pieces of history, and quite attractive and unique. Note: Role-Playing Games from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s have become collector items selling for big bucks by legitimate auction houses like Heritage Auctions (HA), as well as at game conventions. And prices will only continue to soar. Get ‘em while you can.

Perez, Matthew Balent, Sean, and others. Check ‘em out to learn more about the artists and writers behind some of your favorite RPG books.

In the midst of these growing shadows, some hope yet remains… and you are that hope. Can you discover the truth behind the Secret World? Learn more by clicking on this link.

Musings from Kevin

The last week or so has been rough as we bang our heads against one disappointment or problem after another. We’re juggling a lot and all of us are feeling a bit worn out. I’m also seeing and hearing a lot of cynicism and concern over the government, politics, and the economy which is creating a malaise amongst most everyone.

I get it. I have a number of friends and acquaintances who are being furloughed or getting laid off from their jobs. Meanwhile, Palladium is dealing with tariffs, printing, and other rising costs as we work to maintain our current prices. Buck up! Your TMNT Kickstarter rewards should start shipping in a few weeks, books are coming back in stock, and Halloween is today. Please try to lean into spooky fun this weekend and find escape in games, books, movies, and loved ones. I know, easier said than done.

Just this morning, I was missing Kathy (and Luis) and feeling blue. Luckily for me, pulling and signing books for Christmas Surprise Package orders cheered me right up. I love creating Surprise Packages for you all.

I grew up poor and had to scrounge and save the whole year to buy or make Christmas presents for everyone I cared about. My family lived below the poverty level, but somehow my incredible Mom and Dad made the holiday season – Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas – special.

Mom took me and my brother out in our homemade costumes to trick-or-treat on Halloween no matter the weather. Thanksgiving was filled with good eats, family, and Detroit Lions football. And Christmas … Christmas was absolutely magical. After the giftgiving on Christmas morning, Mom and Dad hugged and kissed us and Mom would gently remind us that, “We may not be rich in money and things, but we are so rich in love.”

And we were rich in love.

For me, the Christmas Surprise Packages are an extension of that family tradition, love, and, I hope, Christmas magic. I read every comment and each Surprise Package is packed with care and love in an effort to show you – the greatest fans in the world – how much you really matter to us. That you are truly special, appreciated, and loved by me and the Palladium staff. I know that may sound corny, but it’s sincere and true.

The Surprise Packages are a ton of work, but we don’t care. I had a big company that wanted to buy Palladium tell me the first thing they’ll do is discontinue the Surprise Package because it was a huge waste of time and resources (i.e., money and people). I turned them down for that and other reasons, because as long as I’m at this company and healthy enough to do them, Surprise Packages are ongoing.

Similarly, I’ve had more than one visiting industry friend tell me we’re crazy for doing the Surprise Package because they are too much work. On the other hand, I’ve had others endorse it and lament how they can’t do something similar because they all work remotely and don’t have their own warehouse.

I often have friends visit and chat with me while I happily sign books and pull Surprise Packages on the weekends. During which I can’t help myself from saying things out loud like, how I know this customer will be surprised by X and that customer will love Y. One friend thought it was remarkable how much I loved putting together Surprise Packages, saying, “Geez, Kevin, you love this. You really are like Santa Claus. You even have your little workshop area in the warehouse.” Yep. That made my heart sing.

I wish I was Santa Claus, but I can’t magically make books or toys appear for all good little gamers, which is why we have to charge for them, but I do love putting smiles on your faces and reminding you that you are special and important to us. That each of you is a member of Palladium’s extended family and you make our lives richer by being part of it.

I hope every Surprise Package brightens your holiday, sparks your imagination, and brings months, even years, of gaming enjoyment to you and the people you game with. Please share the word about Palladium’s Surprise Package offer so we can spread gaming joy to as many as possible. Note: My upbringing was Christian, hence Christmas Surprise Package, but this is for all gamers of all beliefs from atheists and agnostics to … well everyone. Our gift of appreciation, if you will.

No matter how trying times may become, please don’t give in to despair or bitterness. Remember you are special and you are loved. Find a way to stay frosty and fill your heart with joy.

Happy Halloween! A yummy Thanksgiving Day. And a very merry Christmas/holiday season to all of you from all of us.

More News – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – October 23, 2025

We have had our hands full here in Palladiumville as we deal with printing and shipping issues and logistics, not just for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, but for three dozen reprint books and a number of other things. In addition, we’ve been talking to a few new printers to cover our needs domestically and internationally as we grow and expand.

NEW! DriveThruRPG Halloween PDF Sale – ALL Palladium Books horror titles and other horror themed PDF books and issues of The Rifter are on sale! And not just Palladium titles, there are thousands of RPG horror titles on sale now through Halloween. Check it out.

NEW! One-of-a-kind negatives from classic Rifts® titles, signed by Kevin Siembieda. I continue to add more Rifts negatives to my (Kevin) personal Ebay store, but they keep selling out fast. The next batch offers more Rifts Japan (1995) and Rifts MercTown (2005), I will try to put a dozen up every week till Christmas. They look awesome and are suitable for framing. Note: Role-Playing Games from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s have become collector items selling for big bucks by legitimate auction houses like Heritage Auctions (HA), as well as at game conventions. And I think prices will only continue to soar. Get ‘em while you can.

Original RPG art is rare and more sought after by collectors than ever. Original art costs hundreds to thousands of dollars, but negatives are much less; those with art on them typically selling for $10-$100. Most game and book publishers threw away the negatives when printing companies switched from film to digital printing. Palladium had dozens of book negatives destroyed too, but we also kept the negs for several dozen books and from time to time we make them available for sale. They are super-rare one- (sometimes two-) of-a-kind pieces of history, and quite attractive and unique. Take a look. Oh, and there are other Palladium collectibles as well as action figures and items from my personal collection. Enjoy.

FINAL HOURS! Nightbane^® Through the Glass Darkly Audiobook Crowdfunder

– ENDS Tomorrow – Friday, October 24 at 12:00 PM Eastern

Nightbane® Through the Glass Darkly sourcebook is AudioRPG’s latest audiobook offering. This is one of my (Kevin Siembieda) favorite sourcebooks and I also enjoyed the voice actors they have chosen for this and other Nightbane audiobooks. This sourcebook delves into the dark and transformative magicks of the Fleshsculptor, Cybermage, and Mirror Mage. It includes 50+ magic spells, plus charms, talismans, Living Pathways, three full adventures, and ideas for many more. Don’t overlook this deep and scary sourcebook. If you don’t already own the physical book, I recommend you get the bundle with the book and the audiobook downloadable version.

We are always amazed that the spoken book version always sounds so different and dramatic.

Audiobook Highlights:

• Professional voice actor.

• The audiobook narration is moody and compelling. (We love it.)

• Fun and relaxing. A very different experience than reading the book yourself.

• Excellent for revisiting the world of Nightbane.

• Excellent for Game Master prep and generation of ideas.

• An immersive experience you will never forget.

• Whether you’re familiarizing yourself with the setting or rules, searching for ideas, preparing your next campaign, or just enjoying the Urban Fantasy world of Nightbane, you’ll find the audiobook a worthwhile experience.

You have permission

Recently, I have heard a surprising (to me) number of celebrities talk about how they had struggled early in their careers because nobody gave them permission to follow their dreams. That people discouraged their ideal career choice to be an actor, author, artist, musician, etc. That people mocked and made fun of them. And said, if only someone had given them permission to believe in themselves and told them it was okay to follow their dream it would have made a profound difference.

Okay, I’m giving you permission to believe in yourself and follow your dream. I believe in you. You can do it. I did.

Be warned: It is hard work. A lot of research. A lot of trial and error – which is okay. You are likely to make mistakes and even fall flat on your face. It happens. Accept it. But get back on your feet, learn from your mistakes, and give it another try. You can often learn more from your mistakes than your successes.

Most likely, you will have to hold down a “real 40 hour a week job” AND spend another 40-50 hours a week on your dream, but you can make it happen. If this is something you really want – really need – to do, then do it. Make the time and sacrifice. Be smart about it and don’t bankrupt yourself or put your family in jeopardy, but give it a try. Even if you fail, you’ll be among the 1% who even tried. Be proud of that.

Sincere, constructive criticism is invaluable, but ignore the naysayers. When I was starting up I had plenty of people tell me I was a dreamer (they were right). And that I needed to grow up and give up on my dreams (they were wrong about that). Along the way I had people – industry people – mock me, laugh at my early books, criticize everything I did, tell me I wasn’t any good, that my games sucked, and that I was doing it all wrong. Heck, there are people out there telling me some of that to this day. But I didn’t let them stop me. I’m an innovator who marches to a different drummer. I do a ton of research and analysis and do what I think is best for the company. If I listened to the naysayers or stopped after my first or second or third mistake or failure, there wouldn’t be a Palladium today. I’m driven by creativity and innovation, not the almighty dollar.

If this poor kid from Detroit could follow his dreams and make them come to life, maybe you can too.

Be bold. Be innovative. Be creative. Don’t let mistakes and failures crush your dream or your spirit. Learn from mistakes and get better and smarter. I don’t care what your dream is, I give you permission to dare to try … and succeed. Do it.

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

News & Deals – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – October 16, 2025

Are you ready for Halloween? Thinking about Christmas? We are! Which is why we have the Palladium Horror Sale going on.

All Palladium horror PDF titles and many physical books are on sale. But that sale ENDS next week, so take a look before it’s over, especially if you have plans for a Halloween one shot adventure or a fall campaign. Dead Reign (Zombies Palladium style) is a great introductory RPG and fun for anyone. So is Systems Failure. (Fight the bug invaders!) Nightbane is some serious urban fantasy. (Twisted magic, secret demonic invasion and dark conspiracy that only you – the monstrous yet human Nightbane – can stop! Oh, and don’t trust anyone.)

Good news, shortly after this sale ends, Palladium’s annual Christmas Surprise Package super-deal should start up by the end of October. What’s that? You’ve never heard of the Christmas Surprise Package offer in which you can get signed books and wonderful goodies at an insanely low price? I’ll tell you all about it in the next Weekly Update.

NEW! One-of-a-kind negatives from classic Rifts® titles, signed by Kevin Siembieda. I continue to add more Rifts negatives to my personal Ebay store (see store details toward the end of this Weekly Update), but they keep selling out fast. A Robotech M.A.C. II Monster negative and a Rifts Japan neg blew out the door yesterday. I will try to put a dozen up every week till Christmas.

Original RPG art is even more rare and sought after by collectors. Most game and book publishers threw away the negatives when printing companies switched from film to digital printing. Palladium had dozens of book negatives destroyed too, but we kept several dozen and from time to time we make them available for sale. They are super-rare one- (sometimes two-) of-a-kind pieces of history, and quite attractive and unique. See more details just before my Closing Thoughts.

Palladium Fans are the best! I’ve been saying that for decades and then you go and prove how true those words are. One of the key people behind BRIC reached out to ask me to thank everyone who donated to this lifesaving charity.

She wrote: “I am in awe of your fan base and all the wonderful personnel working at or for Palladium. I was floored when I checked our fundraising campaign. Our donations almost doubled in those final hours after your appeal went out. Thank you so much.”

Ditto. Thanks for being wonderful and making me proud. BRIC does a crowdfunder a few times a year, so those of you who couldn’t help this time will have a chance to save lives and protect families next year. I hope next time, together, we can help them reach or exceed their projected goal. Thanks again for being awesome. I love you.

SALE final days! Palladium’s Horror Sale Ends October 22. All horror PDF books on sale as well as many of the physical books. Ends October 22nd. See details below.

FINAL DAYS! Nightbane® Through the Glass Darkly Audiobook! This terrifying and fun sourcebook is full of dark magic, scary character classes, 3 full adventures, and more. It is now becoming an audiobook. AudioRPG’s Backerkit crowdfunding campaign is in full swing. See details below or go to their campaign page to learn more. Audiobooks present an entirely different flavor and moody atmosphere than when you read the book yourself. Give it a try and see for yourself. Ends October 24th.

NEW! Nightbane^® Through the Glass Darkly Audiobook Crowdfunder

It’s October and time for friendly Halloween frights and fun. To that end, AudioRPG is crowdfunding the Nightbane® Through the Glass Darkly sourcebook as its latest audiobook offering. This is one of my (Kevin Siembieda) favorite sourcebooks and I also enjoyed the voice actor they chose for this one. The sourcebook delves into the dark and transformative magicks of the Fleshsculptor, Cybermage, and Mirror Mage. It includes 50+ magic spells, plus charms, talismans, Living Pathways, three full adventures and ideas for many more. Don’t overlook this deep and scary sourcebook.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

The Great People We Know

Because America and so much of the world are caught-up in celebrity, I think we forget what makes a person truly great. In fact, if you think about it, you personally know some pretty great people yourself. And I mean know well.

Greatness isn’t only about making movies or music or medicine or scientific breakthroughs, it’s about being an awesome human being. Not a flawless human being, that’s impossible, but someone who has empathy and cares about other people. Someone who tries not to judge or condemn others and strives to be the best they, themselves, can be. A person who is a beacon of light, joy, and hope whether they realize it or not.

One such individual was my friend Luis Arroy. A great man, in a casual, unassuming way.

Luis never let the unjust bigotry and hatred directed at him due to his ethnicity, crush his spirit or make him bitter. If anything, it furthered his resolve to be empathetic, kind, and caring toward others.

Luis Arroy was a proud American who legally immigrated from Mexico. He was a hard worker in a thankless job and never shirked his duty. He also knew how to live life large and enjoy the good things in life such as family, friends, and the people around him.

He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a steadfast friend. The kind of friend who would give somebody in need the shirt off his back. And do it without thinking twice about it.

When Palladium Books was going through the Crisis of Treachery back in 2006 – Luis was one of the many unsung heroes who lent the company money so it could survive. I later learned he really couldn’t afford to lend me as much as he did, but that didn’t stop Luis. And I was just one of dozens of people he helped with money and in other ways over the decades. Luis and his beautiful family opened their home to exchange students, helped other immigrants legally find their way to American citizenship, and always championed family and the underdog. My father, Hank, loved Luis. After Sean met Luis for the first time, he felt an instant connection and said to me, “That Luis, what a great guy.” Great indeed.

Luis Arroy didn’t cure cancer or have a best selling album (though he loved music). He was an open, honest, compassionate human being whose simple acts of kindness and sincerity touched the lives of hundreds of people in a profound way. Every one of them is better for having known him. If that’s not greatness, I don’t know what is.

Luis had a big heart. A kind heart. But even the strongest heart can only endure so much. My friend survived a lung transplant, countless procedures, and declining debilitating health. Five years of living hell for him and his family. Luis Arroy passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, but he will never be forgotten. He lives in our hearts and his light helps shine the way for the rest of us.

I share this story of one man’s journey, because I think we can all follow in Luis’ footsteps. Too often we let the doomsayers and negativity color our vision and sense of reality. It causes us to see only the bad and ugly when there is so much beauty and goodness. The majority of us are good and kind people – or at least aspire to be. Like Luis, we try to see the beauty, wonder, and goodness our world has to offer. If you look closely, you’ll soon realize that many ordinary people we know are actually rather extraordinary. How cool is that? Rejoice in that knowledge and appreciate the people in our lives – especially the ones who mean so much to us.

Please don’t let the darkness win. Push away despair and hate, fear and bitterness. Hold tight the people and things that bring you joy and make your heart sing. Be the light that tries to make the lives around you better. Joy and positivity are contagious, so please spread it as much and as often as you can. Each of you is special and has the potential for greatness. I see it in you. Look at what your simple effort did for BRIC and the people it helps. You have the power. Believe in yourself (and others) and use that power for good.

As always, thank you for your love and support. Stay positive and game on.

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Sales & News – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – October 9, 2025

Hi Folks, there is a lot of news, sales, and things going on, so I’m jumping right into it.

NEW! One-of-a-kind negatives from classic Rifts® titles, signed by Kevin Siembieda. I added something like 15-20 Rifts negatives to my Ebay store (see store details toward the end of this mailing), but they blew out the door. I will try to put up another dozen or two in a day or so and more every week as I can till Christmas. They look awesome and are suitable for framing.

Negatives are becoming recognized as very rare collectibles and archival pieces of history. This is due, in part, to the negatives from the first TMNT comic being displayed at some comic conventions, the fact that I have been selling negatives in my Ebay store, as well as giving them away in Surprise Packages for a number of years, and most importantly, the fact that RPGs and the original art from them are now sought after by collectors and being sold by legitimate auction companies like Heritage Auctions (HA).

Rather than offering negatives from one entire book at a time, I have been offering select pages from several different books with cool art images I think people might want. Most recently that included art from Mindwerks, Lone Star, and Rifts Dark Conversions. Next will be a smattering of Rifts Japan and Cyber-Knights. More to come soon and throughout the weeks ahead. Enjoy.

SALE! Don’t miss Palladium’s Horror Sale just in time for Halloween. All horror PDF books on sale as well as many of the physical books. Ends October 24th. See details below.

AudioRPG’s Backerkit crowdfunding campaign is in full swing. See details below or go to their campaign page to learn more. Audiobooks present an entirely different flavor and moody atmosphere than when you read the book yourself. Give it a try and see for yourself. Ends October 24th.

Join us for a Legion of Myth live chat with Kevin Siembieda and Jeremy Colantonio – Sunday, October 12, at 2 PM Eastern Time. The subject will be Palladium horror settings: Nightbane, Dead Reign, Beyond the Supernatural, and running horror RPGs. Just in time for Halloween. But until then you can watch or listen to our last chat in which we used the Bundle of Holding offer to hop across the Rifts Megaverse®. It was very fun.

NEW! Palladium YouTube videos on gaming

Please help me and Sean save lives via BRIC – Ends October 15, 2025

We know finances are tight for many of you during these uncertain times, but this is your chance to make a genuine difference in the world, protect families, and save lives. All proceeds go to the charity. Even a $10 donation helps. In fact, if we could get a bunch of Palladium’s thousands of fans and customers to pledge as little as $10 it would make a profound difference. If you can afford it, please do so. This is your chance to make a real difference for people who are largely forgotten by the outside world. It’s not often that you know every penny goes to the people in need like this one.

Sean and I support and endorse this charity because we know the organizers and know that our efforts make a direct and immediate difference in the lives of the children and families of the BRIC compound. Our efforts have helped this compound in the African Congo to build walls and schools to fend off Warlord rebel forces and slavers. The BRIC compound has become a safe haven for local families. A haven that provides food and shelter as needed, and a school to educate children and teach teens and young adults a trade so they can become self-sufficient. These life-sustaining improvements could not happen without your prayers and financial assistance since 2022, but our crusade to save and improve the lives of the people in the region is far from complete.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is currently facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. People are displaced, starving, and homeless, making safe havens like BRIC necessary for survival. Please join me (Kevin Siembieda) and Sean Owen Roberson by helping in any way you can. Your donations, small or large, will save lives.

The link to the current webpage is listed below. Gamers unite and help if you can. The fundraising campaign runs through October 15, 2025. Thank you. – Kevin Siembieda & Sean Owen Roberson

An exciting Fall is underway

Though you can’t see it, Palladium Books has been a whirlwind of activity.

• TMNT & Other Strangeness shipping logistics are first and foremost (shipping to Backers in November);

• TMNT related matters (there are so many aspects of this expansive project);

• Quiet book production (four titles are actively being written and illustrated);

• Orchestrating and coordinating artists and writers for future products;

• Plotting future books and crowdfunders;

• Dealing with contracts and licensing;

• Writing and releasing Palladium’s Writer’s Guidelines;

• Convention appearances;

• Marketing and advertising;

• Making YouTube videos;

• Appearances on other podcasts and YouTube channels (Glitterbois, Legion of Myth, and Turtle Tracks are just three of them – podcasters, reach out to us);

• Weekly Updates and sales;

• Improvements to the Palladium website;

• Interviewing and recruiting new printers and manufacturers;

• Prep for the Christmas Surprise Package offer – always a herculean endeavor.

• And a bunch of stuff we can’t yet reveal. All of it building a bigger and better Palladium Books.

We have all been working hard and in constant motion this entire year. Everyone from Caleb in the warehouse, Alex in support and research, Jeremy and Wayne on logistics and infrastructure, to me and Sean envisioning and putting everything in motion as well as remaining the core creative force at the company. And you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. This is only the groundwork for a new era of Palladium Books.

You’ve heard a lot about the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux books and seen digital images, but it won’t be real until you hold the books, dice, etc. in your hands that you’ll get the full impact. You will love ‘em, all of it. What many of you do not realize is they are the signpost for what’s to come from Palladium Books in the future. The easy to read layout, subtle format changes, rules updates, full color interior art, the standard of quality, and range of different products you see in the TMNT RPG rewards, is the future of Palladium. While current books in the pipeline remain black and white, you’ll start to see more and more color hardcover books. And we mean exquisite, next level color, powerful covers, and content on par with the Ninja Turtles RPG books you’ll be holding in your hands next month.

Thank you for your love and support. Right back at you.

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF RIFTS® – ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE

BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA

Halloween Sales & More – Weekly Update – Palladium Books^® – October 3, 2025

A sincere thank you to all who supported the five Rifts Mega-Bundle of Holding offers. What a deal, eh? Now you have material for a dozen winter Rifts campaigns.

Palladium has been offering Rifts sales all year long as part of our 35 year celebration of Rifts, but making all of September Rifts Month and truly special wouldn’t have been possible without the Mega-Bundle of Holding offers. A tip of the hat and our thanks to the good people behind the Bundles of Holding.

Last Sunday’s Legion of Myth live chat was enthusiastic and fun. We used the Bundles of Holding as a starting point to explore the Rifts Megaverse® and talk about a dozen different Rifts titles. I loved it. There’s been so much going on here at Palladium, however, that we forgot to tell you about it in advance, sorry about that. It was recorded and is available to listen to on the Legion of Myth channel right now. Note: Our next LoM chat will be October 12 and feature Nightbane and other Palladium horror RPGs. Plus our thoughts and tips about running horror settings.

More Social Media Fun

Palladium Books is enjoying growing support and excitement over the Palladium Books YouTube interviews with J-M DeFoggi, me, and other Palladium luminaries. The feedback has been glowing, and not just from gamers and Palladium fans, but from fellow industry professionals. I’m constantly surprised by who is tuning in to these chats. All tell me how much they enjoy the behind the scenes insights, the snippets of gaming history (it helps that I’m an old guy), the positivity, and friendliness of these videos. Count on many more throughout the year and into the next one.

We have a number of fun topics and new people in line for interviews, including chats with Sean Owen Roberson, Carl Gleba, Sophie Campbell, and other Palladium creators.

I’m also trying to schedule interviews with The Glitterbois and Turtle Tracks podcasts. If you’d like us on your show, reach out via the Palladium Help Desk. We’re juggling a lot so if we don’t respond, please reach out again. Thanks!
