Re: Book of Heroes/Heroes of the Megaverse
Thanks for the info. I shall pass on it as I don't know a thing about Minion Wars and I play on my own independent setting anyway. Sounds cool, though.

Springfield...almost as common as Greenville!
Lately I'm using the city of Seaboard as my new game setting was inspired by the Atlas Comics line that lasted from '74-'75.

Do martial arts and chi tricks from Ninjas & Superspies count as powers? I treat them as powers for my purposes in super hero games.

Re: Instant Weapon Question
I think someone already said it up above, but not aging and time stopping are two different things. Not aging simply means the deleterious effects of time are negated: the weapon isn't going to decompose or fall apart over the eons the way everything else does; it's spared the ravages of time--this ...

Re: Advanced Heroes Unlimited - the rejected supplement
I'd buy this book as long as it was proofread and edited ("whole" where it should be "hole"). Reminds me of that "The Law is a Ass" column about legal errors in super hero comics, especially the farce known as "The Trial of the Flash."

Super heroes from comic books
Does anyone know where one might find HU write-ups for super heroes from comic books? For instance, how someone wrote up Spider-Man or Black Panther. Mainly I'd like to see it to get an idea of what others feel would reflect their agility, acrobatic/gymnastic abilities, etc., so I have a comparison/...

Thanks for the useful references. Sounds like what I need.
Starting to appreciate HU after years of overlooking it. Really enjoy the combat system as it makes opponents feel like their choices matter (as opposed to games where the attacker's roll decides everything).

I first played Recon in 1989 when I was in the Army. We used to play it during our deployments during our down time. I hate that Palladium isn't planning on supporting the title any longer. I just inquired as to if they would be willing to sell the rights to Recon to me. If I can get it I am going ...

Actual play write-ups/reports?
Is there a thread or forum for actual play write-ups/reports? I'd be interested in reading about ongoing adventures and campaigns of others, and hope to inaugurate my own Heroes Unlimited game soon and would post a play-by-play if anyone else is interested. I'm still digesting the rules but it seems...

Re: Is this HU 2nd Edition Review any good?
The combat rules are, to me, part of the attraction. Giving the defender an opportunity to parry/dodge/entangle feels more like a real fight than games where the attacker just rolls vs. a target number. I'm also enjoying the idiosyncracies of Palladium. The kinks that haven't been ironed out and the...

I wouldn't allow it but simply on grounds of taste and power level as it doesn't fit the type of super hero games I enjoy.
What the heck is a "skinny muscular build"? Kinda hard to be both muscular and skinny at the same time, isn't it?

I'd fix a lot of those typos and give more detail on the mechanics. Unless it's a problem unique to my copy, I'd also note that there is no explanation of how to parry in the section on combat steps. That was a huge problem for me.

glad I could help! One thing though -- careful about implementing combat rules from Ninjas & Superspies. They aren't the same as the other systems. In RIFTS and Heroes they follow a similar flow but N&SS has a very quirky flow to combat if you're not used to it or jumping back and forth bet...

I think I found why I was confused. In Heroes Unlimited (at least in my copy) where Step 3 says a defender can attempt to parry, dodge, or entangle, IT NEVER SAYS HOW! Luckily I had your example and I found the missing information in Ninjas & Superspies. One of the advantages of all the Palladiu...

I'm new to Palladium games.
