The Worlds of Palladium Exhibit – Extended
Good News Everybody! The Worlds of Palladium Exhibit is still up for visitation at the Detroit Historical Museum for at least another few weeks, possibly longer, so there’s still time to see it. I have not gotten an exact date yet for how long it may remain available for viewing. So before you come to see it, you should probably call the museum first to make sure the exhibit is available for viewing. The comic book exhibit has been taken down.
And when you’re in town, swing by the Palladium office to say hello, get a brief tour of our idea factory, and get some books signed. We are only 30 minutes from the Detroit Historical Museum.
Detroit Historical Museum – 5401 Woodward Ave, Detroit, Michigan, 48202 – Telephone: 313-833-1805 – Admission: $15 for adults, $8 for Children 6-12
Open Wednesday thru Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, Sunday 1-5 PM.
Closed Monday and Tuesday.
The Mechanoids® Redux Edition!
Before The Terminator. Before the Matrix. Before Rifts, Phase World, or Aliens Unlimited. There was The Mechanoids.
Did you hear the news?! The Mechanoids Redux Edition: The Complete RPG Collection is part of the Rifts® Glitter Boy Codex crowdfunder (launches October 20, 2026), and commemorates Palladium’s 45th Anniversary. This big, 250+ page book will collect the original Mechanoid Trilogy: The Mechanoid Invasion (1981), The Journey (1982), and Homeworld (1983), parts of Rifts Mechanoids Sourcebook (1992), AND the long forgotten The Mechanoids® RPG (1985) that contained an extra hundred pages of source material, artwork, vehicles, weapons, and more.
Sean has called the 1985 Mechanoids RPG “a lost and forgotten gem” – and the Mechanoids “a dark science fiction setting and characters ahead of its time.” Which is why he wants to collect and completely remaster it all into one big, beautiful, Redux Edition with new layout, updates, and full color art. How could I say no?
The Mechanoids® Collection Redux Edition Highlights:
Written by Kevin Siembieda; an adventure by Erick Wujcik.
Redux design, layout, and updates, by Sean Owen Roberson.
80% of the artwork is by Kevin Siembieda. Remember, most of you have never seen the additional art, characters, gear, or cover from the 1985 RPG, plus I (Kevin) have dug out additional never before seen art that I had created back in the day.
Additional art by William Messner-Loebs, Newton Ewel, Kevin Long, Mike Gustovich, and James A. Osten.
Newly colored for the very first time by Luis Antonio Delgado, renowned colorist of the New York Times best-selling graphic novel, The Last Ronin, amongst many other books.
The Mechanoid Redux Edition – deluxe, full color hardcover.
250+ pages – another dream project for me (Kevin) and Sean.
Follow the Glitter Boy Codex Backerkit Page for more details!

Follow. Reserve & Mark October 20th to your calendars – it’s time to suit up!
will be here before you know it – January 14-17, 2027
This is another fun and rapidly growing convention. A must for gamers in the northeastern U.S., especially old school gamers!
Last year it had nearly 100 guests – many of them legends in the role-playing game industry. Including little ol’ me, Kevin Siembieda, Matthew Balent, Matt Forbeck, Frank Mentzer, Zeb Cook, Ed Stark, Jeff Dee, Darlene, Harold Johnson, Professor Dungeon Master, Kelsey Dionne (Shadowdark), Chris Arneson, and dozens more.
I will be back as a guest, and I’m scheduled for two panel talks with J-M DeFoggi. I believe Jim Zub, writer of Conan for Titan Comics, is one of the new guests this year. The Saturday Night auction is amazing too.
Live Streams & Social Media Fun
Kevin & Sean have been busy sharing the news!
Friday Night Live by the Philadelphia Area Game Expo – A fun online chat with Kevin Siembieda. Check out the Friday Night Live on the Philadelphia Area Game Expo website/YouTube Channel.
I did a fun livestream on the show with Ron Meischler, Phil Wert, Jennifer Cash the Blind Bard, and fellow guest Rob Aldermann at Pulp Hummock Press (his Overlords of Steel RPG crowdfunder, it looks very interesting). We had a blast talking about a lot of different subjects.
Also check out the most recent Legion of Myth chats. Sean and Kevin had a very fun time talking about the Glitter Boy crowdfunder and The Mechanoids RPG Redux edition reveal.
And that’s not all. Palladium Books YouTube channel now has new weekly posts! There’s a new chat with Sean Owen Roberson about the GB Codex last week, Kevin Siembieda talks about The Mechanoids this week, and coming this month Rifts Mercenaries, Kevin’s take on Palladium Alignments, a new bit about the history of Palladium Books, Northern Gun, and more. Each is fun and provides new insight about our many games and sourcebooks.
Don’t forget to follow us on social media to watch our reels too. Plus, Daniel is about to start a fun weekly art series on our social media pages showing off the amazing art of Palladium Books and highlighting the many incredible artist we have had the pleasure of working with.
Wow, the Glitter Boy Codex crowdfunder Pre-Launch is off to an amazing start. As of this writing we already have more than 1,700 followers with 20 days to go before the Backerkit campaign goes live. Not only that, more that 700 of you wonderful maniacs have made a $5 reservation to get $30 of additional rewards when you back the campaign. Wow. Cool. Please continue to spread the word because this crowdfunder is awesome.
The Glitter Boy Codex presents all kinds of new source material, weapons, gear, and history about the classic USA10 Glitter Boy. Not to mention great artwork and rewards like a Game Master Screen, dice sets, playmats, etc. Plus, we’ll be doing the sourcebook as a black and white softcover AND as a full color hardcover, and a special chromatic foil cover edition.
The Mechanoid Collection Redux Edition is also a big part of the Glitter Boy Crowdfunder. This includes the long lost and largely forgotten 1985 Mechanoids RPG which contained 100 pages of new source material, plus seldom and never before seen art, characters, equipment, and more.
This is all super-exciting for us, especially me, Will Erwin (GB writer), Sean Roberson (writer and designer of both books), and Daniel Lansdown (marketing). I love the new material for Glitter Boys and I’m thrilled the lost Mechanoids material is finding new life and a new audience in the Complete Collection.
Plus we’re getting reprint books in stock for Christmas and work continues on Rifts Bestiary Volume 2, Rifts Antarctica, Yin-Sloth Expeditions, and other projects.
So enjoy the two Palladium Horror Sales (books from BTS, Dead Reign, Nightbane, Rifts, Palladium Fantasy) and PDFs of those same books and more from DriveThru. Also take a look at the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG products because they are fun, beautiful, and completely usable with all our other RPGs, and enjoy your weekend.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store
Palladium collectibles, books, artwork, and negatives, as well as action figures, toys, and other items from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection are available from this Ebay store! New items added regularly.
One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Last year at Granite State Comic Con, Kevin Eastman had TMNT negatives from the first comic book on display. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. These are the photographic negatives being sold as individual works of art and collectibles. When matted or framed on a white background they look like dynamic wood cut prints.
Over the past few months – but especially these past few weeks – I have spoken to several friends and family members who are feeling down. They can’t point to anything specific and say things like: “Everything just seems bad – uncertain – ugly – hopeless.”
I understand, because I had been feeling that way myself lately, and I couldn’t point to anything specific either. I was just blah. Is it something in the zeitgeist? The political atmosphere? The summer heat? I didn’t know. I just wanted to stop feeling that way. I wanted to feel uplifted and happy.
What pulled me out of my doldrums was a sequence of events. I had a series of uplifting calls from people telling me how much they loved me and my work. A couple of people were fans but complete strangers. Several were friends I hadn’t heard from in quite a while so it was a pleasant surprise. But I still felt blah, and now I was angry with myself because such sincere and kind words didn’t seem to do much to lift me out of my doldrums. What’s wrong with me, I pondered. Had I become jaded? Was I suffering from depression? Or what? In reality, those calls meant the world to me, but those positive emotions were still being held down by the blahs.
I hesitantly bought an expensive art book featuring the work of Steve Ditko’s Spider-Man comic books from the 1960s. I made this impulsive decision based entirely on the cover, the promise of what awaited inside, and the desire to do something nice for myself. Ditko is a comic book legend on the level of Jack Kirby and his work was a big influence on my own art and development as an artist and storyteller. Lost in my despondent and angry mood, however, I spent the entire drive home beating myself up for spending so much money on a stupid book that’s probably not even worth it. I even thought about turning around and taking it back for a refund before I took it out of the box and cellophane wrapper. The damn book weighs a ton and made a loud thud when I plopped it down on the kitchen table, where I continued to further debate with myself about returning it.
Finally, I took the book out of the box and carried the massive tome to the couch, laid it down in the middle of the sofa, and carefully cut and peeled away the cellophane. The book is so large (the original comic book page size which was quite large in those days) and heavy (quality paper), that it filled an entire spot where a person would sit. I knelt down in front of the couch and opened the book to a random page. That’s when the sun shined through the window blinds and the angels began to sing.
The book was beautiful. The artwork was magnificent. The visual flow and artistry and storytelling combined to create one incredible masterwork after another. I know this will sound silly, but I could feel my heart swelling just like the Grinch’s on Christmas morning in Whoville. My blahs evaporated with every turn of the page. I spent two hours on my knees studying every panel and brush stroke. I let myself be swept away to a wondrous happy place that, somehow, I had almost forgotten. All of a sudden, as my heart soared and my mind cleared, ideas for RPG books and adventures began to form in my head. The blahs were gone and I was back.
Don’t you forget that our hobbies and the people and things that we love, inspire us, and bring us joy, are always there for us. They hold the power to make the blahs and hopelessness disappear and restore joyful and a happier perspective.
We role-playing gamers are doubly fortunate because the very design of RPGs is to inspire and create an escape into joyous, heroic adventure. They inspire our imaginations even when we just read the book or flip through the illustrations, let alone when we create a character and dive into a game. That was the gist of the calls from my friends and fans earlier that week: “Thank you, Kevin, for publishing RPGs that have inspired us as writers, artists, and gamers, and have brought us so much joy. We love them and we love you.” How beautiful is that? I am humbled and delighted.
So draw upon your RPG resources right there on your bookshelves and on your computers. Reread your favorite books as well as the ones you don’t fully remember because there are probably things that will spark your imagination and lift your spirits. Try new RPG settings especially when there are big sales. Take advantage of sales from Palladium Books like the Mutant and Monstrous Worlds Sale taking place this weekend and certainly the Mutants and Ninjas Bundle of Holding. For less than $30 you can get 21 PDF books worth nearly $300, and even if you aren’t into the setting or mutants, ninjas, mystical martial artists, or spies, you know the artwork and reading about the characters, villains, gear, powers, and world will give you ideas for whatever game setting you are into. Mine these sales and books for ideas and escape to a joyful place of adventure. A place that can chase away the blahs whenever you need them to do so. Stay frosty and game on.

ONE GAME SYSTEM – EVERY GENRE – COUNTLESS WORLDS – ENDLESS ADVENTURE
BY KEVIN SIEMBIEDA
Promise of Power – Palladium Books® – Weekly Update – May 22, 2025
Did you see Palladium’s recent press release? The secret revealed is the lost Rifts® video game – Rifts® Promise of Power. With your support we hope to bring it back for the personal computer and other game platforms with improved art and graphics and fun.
I had been teasing you with the coming of a big announcement for a couple of weeks and we found the speculation about what it could be fun and interesting. As far as I know, NOBODY guessed it was the RPOP video game. One guess I found amusing was that I was going to announce my retirement. No way! Not when I’m having this much fun. The initial response to the news of the Rifts® Promise of Power video game being remade for the PC and modern game platforms has been overwhelmingly positive. Be excited! We sure are. Sean and I will be revealing more details and answering your questions before and during the crowdfunding campaign. Watch for live streaming when we launch in June, and other fun stuff.
We could not do this without the vision of Sean Owen Roberson or the brilliant minds and talented artists at TransPerfect International LLC. Heck, everyone we know is standing behind this exciting new venture for Palladium: Wayne, Alex, Caleb, newcomer Jeremy Colantonio (who has been helping us on many fronts behind the scenes for months – but more about him in a few weeks), J-M DeFoggi, Ryan McDaniels, Nick Kay, Chris Chamberlain, Charles Porter, Johnson, Martyn and Alex at Backerkit, as well as Shane Neville and some of the other creators of the original video game! And I’m sure I’m forgetting people. (Sorry.) Working to release Rifts Promise of Power REFORGED has been an awesome experience. And a little scary, because we don’t know if we can garner enough support to make it a reality. We are hopeful and very optimistic, but won’t know until the Backerkit campaign is a success.
That means the fate of Rifts® Promise of Power REFORGED is ultimately in your hands. Please follow us on the Backerkit Pre-Launch page, spread the word far and wide, and please back the crowdfunder when it goes live in June. We appreciate everyone who is coming along for the ride with us. It’s time to travel the Rifts in a new way, in a new medium, with new friends.
The Rifts® Promise of Power Reforged video game will feature the following:
30+ hours of game play on the main storyline, more for completionists!
Increased aspect ratio. Instead of the small screen size of the original N-Gage mobile device, play on a greatly expanded aspect ratio for modern screens – see Rifts Earth like never before!
The Glitter Boy, Coalition Grunt, and other portraits restored to their iconic likeness.
Seventeen playable classes drawn directly from the original tabletop role-playing game, including the Glitter Boy, Burster, Ley Line Walker, Cyber-Knight, Juicer, Mind Melter, Cyborg, Headhunter, Crazy, and Mystic.
Gain powerful allies – mercenaries, psychics, and mages – as you cross the post-apocalyptic wastes and lead your party in combat using their unique abilities.
Tactical turn-based combat on scenic battle maps featuring a dynamic 3D camera perspective so you can always be in control of your weapons and powers.
More than 50 enemy types – mutants, supernatural creatures, high-tech soldiers, and more – plus a diverse cast of characters, reflecting the varied denizens of Rifts Earth.
Over 100 weapons, spells, and psionics, plus all new weapons and gear exclusive for backers of the Reforged edition.
Travel to multiple locations from the Rifts setting – North America, England, the New German Republic, and China – each filled with unique challenges.
New physical rewards exclusive to crowdfunding backers!
Rifts® Promise of Power Reforged Stretch Goals:
Unlock a high-definition update to the original in-game art, including combat graphics.
Unlock an all new modern soundtrack with beautiful music.
Unlock support for extra platforms including consoles and mobile devices.
And much more!

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store
I am adding new collectibles of all kinds to my Ebay store every few weeks. Some are Palladium negatives, rare and out of print books, original Palladium artwork, prints, posters, as well as other collectible toys, action figures, Nightmare Before Christmas items, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, books, and other good stuff – including Erick Wujcik’s rare and sought after Amberzine #12-15. Check in every week or so to see what’s new. All items come from Kevin Siembieda’s personal collection.
One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed.
Each negative is truly unique, attractive, and fun to have.
Own a piece of Palladium Books and RPG history you will treasure.
Each was used to print the very book you may have in your collection (1981-2004).
Each is signed in silver ink by Kevin Siembieda and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Each negative is a one-of-a-kind work of art (on rare occasions, two-of-a-kind if a page or section of pages were replaced or a second edition was made).
Looks great matted or framed! Fits an 8×10 inch matt opening. Each neg is roughly 8 ½ x 11 inches.
Prices vary depending on the title, the art, and quality of the negative. Note: Many have scratches, or blemishes, and/or an opaque medium on the negative. Still, they look great and are a piece of RPG history. We recommend you carefully examine the photographs of each item to avoid disappointment. The negatives of many books are sold out or were never available.
I love my life. Is that corny or sappy? I don’t think so, because it’s true. Yes, I have had my share of hardships and sorrow. I lost my beautiful Kathy last year and my dear friend Julius a year or so before. Yes, Palladium has its struggles. Yes, we are understaffed, overworked, and now have to deal with tariffs, EU regulations, we’re behind where we’d like to be on book releases, and the economy and world at large is uncertain and at times frightening. And yet, I choose to be happy and I feel blessed.
I have lived an amazing life and know a multitude of amazing people, including many of you. I have wonderful friends and continue to make new ones. I’m excited about Rifts Promise of Power Reforged (go Sean!), I cannot wait to put TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux in your hands, and there are a whole lot of books and projects in the pipeline designed to put smiles on your faces and stoke the fires of imagination. I love my life, I’m surprised by all the things I’ve accomplished, and I look forward to what the future holds for me and all of us.
Life is a war of attrition. I try not to let it wear me down and I wear my battle scars with pride and dignity as I press forward and try to live life to the fullest. I do so, as do most of us, with a wounded heart. I’m missing little pieces of me – my Kathy, Julius, Erick, Mom, Dad, and many other people I have loved and lost. All remembered with the love and gratitude they each deserve. Memories that warm my battered heart and motivate me to press onward and conquer new adventures.
I honor their memories by trying to live my best life and welcoming the years ahead with an open and joyful heart. Life is a wondrous gift. A gift I try to appreciate every day. It’s okay if I stumble and fall along the way, provided I get back on my feet and keep moving forward. Keep learning. Keep loving. Keep creating.
There will always be struggles and challenges and heartbreaking loss ahead, because life is not easy. But it is so worth living. The bad and the challenging is what makes the good stuff – from the splendor of a sunrise to the laughter of friends at the gaming table – so beautiful and worthwhile.
My wish for you is that you embrace life to the fullest no matter the difficulties and obstacles you may face, or the pain you may silently carry hidden inside of you, and find your joy and a sense of peace and purpose. Never forget that you are unique and bring something special into the world.
It’s Memorial Day weekend. A time when we remember and celebrate those we have lost in service to our nation. Men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us back home. We honor that sacrifice with our thanks and prayers. Personally, I include in my prayers all first responders and people who strive to make our world a safer, better place – doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters, teachers, and on and on. And to those of you who still serve to make the world better. Thank you for your service. You are appreciated and respected by this humble publisher, as are the fallen who have come before you.
Memorial Day weekend has also become a time for sales, get togethers, barbecues, going to the park, and family time. These are the good things that recharge us and make us appreciate life. Please travel safely, enjoy the sales (including Palladium’s new Rifts sale), follow our Rifts Promise of Power Reforged crowdfunding campaign and spread the word about it. Enjoy the adventures of your life and keep your imagination burning bright.

Sean is back and we are kicking everything into high gear. We’ll talk a bit about the latest at Palladium and answer some questions, but the subject of this Sunday’s chat is using Palladium rules as a framework for any setting and kit-bashing two (or more) games/settings like Nightbane and Palladium Fantasy into something truly unique. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness Kickstarter Backers
You, and you alone, can still add to your selection of Kickstarter Exclusives and upgrade to higher pledge levels to get limited edition exclusives. But you must do so soon, before the Pledge Manager is closed! The Kickstarter Exclusives are freakin’ awesome and many are super-limited, especially the variant covers. For example, the two Mutagen Green Editions sport brand new artwork by Kevin Eastman AND Peter Laird created specially for these two collector’s editions. A rare and triumphant collaboration by the two legendary Ninja Turtle creators that TMNT super-fans will desire for years to come – if they can even find one on the secondary collector’s market – because they will be so limited and rare! But Backers can still order them for another few weeks. Backers, use your unique position and do NOT miss out on what are certain to become high-priced collector items. You’ll be glad you did whether they become a cherished part of your collection or you sell them later for a profit. Also remember, the exclusive print sets and poker deck are only available for the higher pledge tiers.

I talk with many people of all ages and every walk of life. It disturbs me that so many feel lost and afraid, especially those who despair and fear for the future of our world. Please don’t despair. I promise you the human spirit is more resilient and stronger than you imagine. The majority of people I see are good and caring. Please don’t let political rhetoric, greed, and fear-mongering isolate you or make you fret. Though the media might suggest otherwise, the good outweighs the bad and the ugly, especially if you, yourself, seek out beauty and joy.
Here’s a secret: You, yes you, hold the power to change the world. I mean it. Do so by example. By being the change you want to see.
Be the light. Be the kinder, better, more caring person you wish for the world. Wear a smile, be empathetic, be patient and just. Win one person over at a time by your good example. You can make a difference by striving to be the best you can be. You don’t have to get up on a soapbox, preach, protest, or say a word. All you need to do is be your best you and try to be appreciative, respectful and empathetic toward others. Kindness and compassion are contagious and breed reciprocal positivity.
Does that sound too simple or naive? It’s not. We and the world around us are what we make them. I knew a woman who transformed her Michigan backyard into a tropical paradise every spring and brought boundless joy to thousands of children and adults throughout the month of October. She did it by being true to herself and letting her light shine via quiet acts of kindness and generous creativity. This one, unassuming person touched and inspired friends, family, and complete strangers with simple words and actions that made the people around her feel seen and appreciated. She gifted them with joyful moments they’ll carry always.
She wasn’t a politician, educator, doctor, or inventor. In fact, she would have told you that she was nobody. At least not anybody important. And yet, there’s an army of people to whom she was very important.
I speak of Kathy Simmons, who passed away one year ago. No matter how grim or dire her situation – and she had plenty of them throughout her life – she found a way to laugh and survive without harming a soul. Mom, Dad, Erick Wujcik, and Julius Rosenstein were the same way. They never let hardship crush their spirit. Somehow, they always managed to find and embrace joy in life’s simplest pleasures no matter how dark or threatening the storm clouds.
Kathy and these other amazing “nobodies” – who were everything to me – taught me how to live, love, hold joy and laughter in my heart, and keep going no matter what. I use my memories of them and lessons learned through their example to fuel the courage to try to be my best self.
If we can do it, you can do it too. I know you can. Please don’t let the stress of life and the pettiness, cruelty, and unfairness that can sometimes accompany it, dampen your spirit and take away your joy. Hold close to you the people and things that bring you happiness. Never let anyone convince you that they aren’t important. Never believe the things that light up your imagination and bring you joy and camaraderie are stupid and worthless. Lose yourself in those stupid games that make you laugh and your heart sing. Hold on to the precious friends and the memories of wondrous adventures they have brought into your life.
And never forget that you are not nobody. Know that you are, indeed, special and important in the universe. Which is how one person can make a profound difference, whether that difference affects a single soul or millions.

Sean is back in Michigan after his trip to Asia. We cannot talk about all he was up to overseas, but it all seems to have gone very well. Likewise, we continue to lay the groundwork for upcoming projects, new book releases, a new website, and much more.
We expect to be making a major announcement about the progress of TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux editions and related Kickstarter exclusives as they approach going into manufacturing. Everything is coming together nicely. Note: Gamers and Retailers can still place orders in the TMNT & Other Strangeness Pre-Order Store at the lower Kickstarter prices, but not for very much longer. (Backers, you can still add or change your Kickstarter selections, but do so soon.)
A few visitors, including writer Carmen Bellaire, have had the opportunity to see the finished book layouts and physical samples of some FanRoll items at the Palladium Studio, and love what they’ve seen. Carmen said, “Kev, the books look even better than I imagined. Fans are going to go crazy over these. And those metal Shredder dice are something special. Gotta make sure I ordered a set.”
New books coming soon: We also expect to announce the release of new books very soon – Yin-Sloth Expeditions and Bestiary Volume 2 amongst the first releases of 2025.
Social Media: The Official History of Palladium Books continues to post on the Palladium YouTube Channel every other week and you can expect to see me and Sean back on Legion of Myth, the Glitterbois, and elsewhere.
Nightbane Survival Guide Audiobook is the latest venture by the AudioRPG company to drum up excitement for role-playing game audiobooks. I think the actual Nightbane RPG will be offered next. If they get a good response (they were happy with the Dark Designs crowdfunder), they’ll do all of Palladium’s RPGs, including Fantasy, Dead Reign, and Rifts. We’re impressed with the quality of these audiobooks. Check it out. It’s only around $25 to get in on the ground floor. We think this has tremendous potential.

Palladium Books® – Weekly Update – February 14, 2025
Happy Valentine’s Day. Share the love and camaraderie with your fellow gamers and loved ones. I love you – our fans – you are the greatest. Now start running a game people will love. We have a new sale of hardcovers and select sourcebooks to give you a helping hand.
NEW Sale! Don’t miss it. Most Hardcovers are on sale along with an accompanying sourcebook or two. A great way to try a new setting and big savings. See all the details below.
Game Masters needed to run Palladium Game events at Gen Con. Please help if you can and earn free Gen Con admission with a GM’s badge and discounts on Palladium products. See all the details below.
NEWS! A new 48 page, color Catalog of Palladium Books is coming. We’ll have it in time for the GAMA Trade Show at the end of the month. That may not sound like a big deal, but it is for us. The catalog is attractive, features the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux on the cover, and was fun putting it together. A fun reminder of all the great books we have created.
GAMA Trade Show – February 24-27 – Visit Palladium Books at Booth #1176. If you are attending, please visit me (Kevin Siembieda) and Wayne Smith at Booth #1176 to get more information about TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux edition, see samples, and ask questions about it and other 2025 releases. Both individuals and retailers can place orders right now by going to the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Pre-Order Store and get superior savings, because the final retail price will be $5-$10 higher than the current pre-order prices. Retailer Packages are located at the bottom of the page. You must be able to prove you are a brick and mortar store to qualify.
NEWS! A new episode of the Official History of Palladium Books has been posted! More about the Palladium Fantasy RPG line with a focus on the first sourcebook, The Arms of Nargash-Tor. Every episode is fun, friendly, and reveals the back story behind a particular product or game line. Watch for a new episode every other week and enjoy.
NEWS! Live chat with Kevin Siembieda on Legion of Myth – Sunday, February 16, 2025. We will discuss how to use and expand Palladium’s Hook, Line and Sinker adventure outlines into a full blown adventure or series of adventures. I’m sure there will be a lot of talk about building and running adventures in general. Please join me, MaxLiao, and Heathdog for a spirited discussion. The chat starts at 2:00 PM and runs till about 4:00 PM, but the show is also recorded and made available after the live broadcast.
NEWS! What’s hot this week at Palladium? I’d say Rifts®, Palladium Fantasy, After the Bomb® and Dead Reign® have been hot this week.
NEWS! Here is a zombie Kickstarter Campaign you might find interesting – Dead Flesh RPG. It is a zombie game written by Palladium Books freelance writer Dan Frederick with art by Big Nick Bradshaw (Dead Reign® RPG series). As the name suggests, this is an RPG that deals with the zombie apocalypse. It sounds fun so check it out. Palladium gamers who already play Dead Reign® may find additional zombies, resources, and adventure ideas to fuel their current Dead Reign campaign.
Hardcover Sale – Save 25%
This sale offers many hardcover RPGs and one or a few sourcebooks to go along with them. This is a bigger savings on hardcovers than you may think. As much as Palladium has held the line on the price of our books, we will be increasing the cover price of many titles over the months ahead. That starts with the hardcovers, which will be increasing $5-$10. Hardcovers currently selling for $36.99, like Dead Reign® RPG and Chaos Earth® RPG, will soon sell for $44.99. So get them now at sale prices based on the current, low retail price (while supplies last). That’s a significant savings when you buy before the prices increase. Get ‘em while you can and save.
Game Masters Needed to Run Palladium Gen Con Game Events – we need YOU
Palladium is looking for experienced Game Masters to run Palladium RPG events at Gen Con. That can be any of our game worlds using our rules as well as Rifts® for Savage Worlds. If you were thinking about running games at Gen Con or want to help out Palladium, please coordinate with Palladium Books in order to get a dedicated room and other perks like a free Game Master badge, and discounts on your purchases at the Palladium Books booth.
To earn a free GM badge, all you need to do is run 4 games with 6 or more players in each game, 4 hours each. This will earn you enough credits with Gen Con to earn a GM badge – $155 value!
We hope to add to our usual crew of Gen Con Game Masters to run Palladium game events for any Palladium setting:
Rifts®
Rifts® for Savage Worlds
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles® & Other Strangeness
After the Bomb®
Chaos Earth®
Palladium Fantasy RPG®
Heroes Unlimited
Ninjas & Superspies
Nightbane®
Dead Reign®
Beyond the Supernatural and any of our other settings.
We need your commitment, game description and info by February 28. Send to Jeff Ruiz, aka NMI, via email at nmi {at} thedeificnmi.com
Game Masters and Game Event Descriptions NEEDED by February 28, 2024. (See Gen Con’s website for details about the info needed for each game listing; G.M.’s name, number of players, length of time, name of game, difficulty level, etc.). This enables Palladium to coordinate and submit them as a batch to Gen Con and guarantees to have your event listed in the onsite Gen Con Program Book. Being listed onsite is very important to have full attendance for your event. This date gives us enough time to compile and send Gen Con everything they need. Thank you!
AudioRPG is cranking out the audiobooks and will be offering the Nightbane®: Survival Guide sourcebook (one of my personal favorites) in a few weeks. They are tentatively looking to launch it on February 27, but that date could change.
We have been blown away by the quality production and that listening to the audiobook makes the sourcebook feel brand new. It’s a whole new experience. I love ‘em, check it out. The buy-in is only around $25.
An RPG audiobook may sound crazy, but it won’t after you listen to the samples presented in this Nightbane® Survival Guide Audiobook crowdfunder taking place on Backerkit by one of Palladium’s new licensing partners. It sounds amazing! We were all blown away by the quality.
Fun to listen to.
Relaxing game prep.
Professional narration.
Convenient for the busy G.M.
Hearing the words spoken by a professional narrator makes the book come to life in a whole new way and feel brand new.
Hearing it also makes you notice game and adventure details you may have missed reading it yourself.
EVERYONE at Palladium endorses this product 100%. Go to the page and listen for yourself. You’ll be as pleased as we are.
Dive into the thrilling Urban Fantasy world of Nightbane® with Nightbane Survival Guide.
Your new adventure starts here when you listen to the Nightbane Survival Guide filled with details about surviving in the world as a Nightbane, the Becoming (the first time they transform into something inhuman), transformation rules, how to make allies and contacts, the hidden war, the Nightbane underground railroad, more on Factions and rules for creating them, adventures, and adventure hooks. Fun for players and Game Masters.
The audiobook is perfect for enhancing your Nightbane campaign or exploring its lore on the go.
The project crowdfunding happens on Backerkit and tentatively begins Thursday, February 27, 2025. (Note: I think the next offering in March will be the Nightbane® RPG, but I may be mistaken on that.)

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store
I am adding new collectibles of all kinds to my Ebay store in time for the holiday season.
We love and appreciate you and your continued support on all fronts. I think some of that affection shows in the sales we offer throughout the year (a hardcover sale starts today!) and in our increasing number of YouTube videos and online interviews. Every book we write and publish is a labor of love.
That should be abundantly clear when you see the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux editions and Kickstarter exclusives shipping this spring. We pulled out all the stops to make them truly special. Books you’ll cherish and probably use for years running TMNT and mutant animal games. I can assure you that Sean, me, Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Sophie Campbell, Mike Majestic, Freddie E. Williams II, Jeremy Colwell, Louis Antonio Delgado, and all the contributors poured their hearts and souls into these books. And they look amazing. The poker decks, dice, and all of it looks great. You will love them all. Everything should be going into manufacturing in the weeks ahead. A Kickstarter report or two should also be coming over the next month.
We also have several non-Turtles titles in various stages of development. YIn-Sloth Expeditions should be the first new release of the year, followed by Rifts Bestiary Volume 2 and Rifts Antarctica, among others. We are very excited about this year’s releases. This is in addition to other projects like TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux editions and things yet to be announced.
Please plan to visit the Palladium Books Booth at Gen Con. All of the above titles should be available and hopefully others. Plus Sean Owen Roberson, Wayne Smith, Mark Oberle, Glen Evans, Mike Leonard, John Klinkel, me, and possibly others will be at the booth to chat and sign books. Other conventions we’ll be attending include the GAMA Trade Show, Alliance Open House, and Granite State Comic Con. Wherever we are, we are always happy to sign books and chat for a spell, so come on over.
I think that’s it for now. So much to do: GAMA prep, Gen Con prep, final TMNT & Other Strangeness tweaks and edits, business stuff, etc. Happy Valentine’s Day, enjoy the sale, and game on.

Palladium Books® – Weekly Update January 16, 2025
The New Year is off with a bang here at Palladium Books. To get a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes, please check out last Friday’s: The Future of Palladium Books Special Report. There’s a lot and it’s all good. 2025 is going to be quite the ride and we hope you’ll be there for every minute of it. Not only that, but help spread the word about Palladium Books’ games, new releases, and other fun happenings.
Our thanks to everyone tuning into the Palladium Books YouTube channel to enjoy our ongoing history of Palladium Books with me (Kevin Siembieda, the founder and lead game designer) and J-M DeFoggi. We’re having a blast with these candid chats. Please continue to watch and spread the word, because we talk about TMNT, Robotech, Rifts and all the rest. You can also catch Palladium RPG fun on the Glitterbois podcast and monthly YouTube chats on the Legion of Myth.
We hope the multitude who purchased one or more Christmas Surprise Packages enjoyed each and every one. They’ll be back next Christmas season, but we don’t know for how many years longer, as they are a ton of work. I will continue to include fan comments at the end of these Weekly Updates for the next few weeks for your enjoyment.
Please keep the orders coming. We’ll help with a number of re-releases such as more of The Rifter® Archival Editions, TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux editions (so completely remastered and in full, breathtaking color, that they feel new), along with brand new products like Yin-Sloth Expeditions, Rifts® Bestiary Volume 2, Rifts® Antarctica, and more. Hopefully, much more.
News! TMNT & Other Strangeness Mini-Update. Everything is moving along on all fronts regarding final layout, and approvals and looking GREAT. There is still time to get the mainstream Redux editions and Black, White and Red editions (look amazing), and Game Screen at the lower Kickstarter prices, but you need to do so soon. I think the Pre-Order Store will be closed by the end of February or March.
TMNT & Other Strangeness Pre-Order Store. There is a link on the front page of the Palladium website to the TMNT & Other Strangeness Pre-Order Store (as well as below). Please note that these products will not ship until this spring. The advantage to placing your pre-order before March 2025 is that you will get the items at the lower Kickstarter price. For example, you save $10 on each of the two color cover volumes of the two main books, because the final retail price will be higher than the current Kickstarter price. Moreover, Sean Owen Roberson has outdone himself on the Redux editions. Clear and concise rules clarifications, new and helpful tables and charts, sweet layout, gorgeous color art, and so much more.
News! Congratulations to Palladium author Carl Gleba (Minion War, Secrets of the Atlanteans) on the arrival of his first child! We are all so happy for you, Big Daddy.
Valley of the Pharoahs RPG! Waaaay back when, Palladium Books published the Valley of Pharaohs RPG as a box game. Well, 40 years later, I gave the author, my pal, Matthew Balent (best known for Weapons & Armour, Weapons & Castles, Weapons & Castles of the Orient, etc.), permission to reuse my artwork in a new, vastly expanded redux edition of the original game. It is a big 200+ page RPG. (The original was only 64 or 96 pages plus a dozen maps and diagrams.) The game rules are Matthew’s own creation with some unique ideas and mechanics you may find interesting, Meanwhile, the spells, characters, and ideas can be adapted to the Palladium game system with a little work. The lore, history, and writing is outstanding, so if you love Egyptian mythology, this is a must have item. Likewise, Palladium collectors may want one because the original 1985 box game is super-rare and expensive, but this authorized expanded 40th Anniversary edition is affordable and a good read. Available from Palladium Books for a limited time. Thank you for supporting the hard work of my friend, Matthew Balent, who played an important role in the early days of Palladium Books.
News! Palladium Books® YouTube Channel – The Official History of Palladium Books is an ongoing video series presented in rough, Chronological order. Here are some of the episodes currently available:
Secrets of the Defilers, Part One – (stories about Kevin’s legendary Palladium of Desires fantasy campaign that inspired him to start Palladium Books).
Coming YouTube Videos: Stories behind the creation of Heroes Unlimited, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, Robotech®, Robotech® VHS tapes, Ninjas & Superspies, Beyond the Supernatural, Rifts® (a few episodes), Dead Reign®, and more, including Games that Almost Happened (but didn’t), and Close Encounters (with Hollywood and videogames).
A new episode goes up every other week with the occasional bonus episode in between. Many more chats are coming. Each one a friendly and candid conversation that gamers are enjoying. J-M Defoggi and I, Kevin Siembieda, reveal the origin stories behind your favorite Palladium role-playing games and sourcebooks. We will eventually switch to topics about running RPGs, designing adventures, Game Master and player tips, alignments, magic, writing RPGs, and others.
News! Kevin Siembieda on Legion of Myth live chat – 2:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2025. Sean is overseas on business so the time difference makes it difficult for him to join us, but I’ll be there to chat about a variety of subjects. Please join the fun.
News! The Glitterbois podcasts – We talk about all things Palladium Books and include chats with me (Kevin Siembieda) about the origins and history of Palladium Books, my thought process behind Palladium’s many game lines and specific book titles, and other fun topics. These podcasts always cover additional details and memories about Palladium’s history and iconic games not found in Palladium’s official YouTube material. And who doesn’t love the Glitterbois hosts? Tune into the fun. New episodes with me are coming throughout the year.
News! What’s hot at Palladium this week – With the end of the Surprise Package offer, we saw everything blowing out the door, but we did notice some interesting trends: Rifts® and Palladium Fantasy remain hot, but we’re seeing Phase World® and Rifts® Dimension Books along with Heroes Unlimited/After the Bomb® heating up. The surprise has been the magnitude of renewed interest in Dead Reign®RPG, it has been super-hot this past week in both regular orders and Surprise Package requests.
Dead Reign® is red hot – I think people are discovering that Dead Reign® is an intuitive, fast, fun, introductory game ideal for inexperienced, new role-players and fun for seasoned veteran gamers. The Dead Reign® setting and prime enemy (zombies) is instantly familiar and easy to understand, combat is straightforward with no magic or psionics, and the zombies are both familiar yet different, and uniquely Palladium. How zombies function and behave (the Zombie Moan, converging to get a piece of P.P.E. at the moment of a victim’s death, etc.) makes total sense and I think people like to understand how (our) zombies function and why. It answers questions about zombies that no other game offers.
Sales are up with distributors, retailers, and across the board. Just last week we had two different people visit the office. One was a business meeting unrelated to RPGs and the other was a visit by a Rifts® fan. Both were looking to try a new RPG, something beginner gamers could pick up easily. I told them about a few of our games, but both gravitated toward Dead Reign®. Both bought the RPG and love it. In fact, the business person (a big board gamer) loves the setting and is starting a Dead Reign® campaign with his wife and some friends this week! If you haven’t tried it, you might want to take a look at Dead Reign® in the future.
News! 3 Notebook & Pen Sets – These have proven to be quite popular. I think Game Masters and players both enjoy having a notebook and pen clearly marked for the game they are playing in. I must admit, everyone here scooped up one of each.
Pen and matching 80 page, ruled paper notepad with matching color ribbon bookmark.
Pocket-size 3 ½ by 5 ½ inches to slip nicely into a back pocket or purse.
Now available on DriveThruRPG.com – The Nightbane Automated Character Sheet follows a similar format as the popular Rifts® Automated Character Sheet designed by Greg Diaczyk.
Microsoft Excel-based system for creating, updating, and tracking your Nightbane RPG characters quickly and easily. Once you know the system, you can have characters up and ready in 10-15 minutes!
Create your human Facade and Nightbane Morphus in minutes.
Offers a vast range of Morphus choices.
Select from scores of Common and Elite Nightbane Talents.
Spells, psionics, and more.
$5.00 – Available now on DriveThruRPG.com and coming soon on PalladiumBooks.com – Created by Greg Diaczyk.
300+ RPG products on DriveThru – a dozen unique world settings – one game system – endless possibilities. No other game company offers game worlds for so many different genres. Otherwise, take a glance at the Weekly Updates for sales, new releases, YouTube and podcast appearances, and other news.
I’m sure there’s more to talk about, but a head cold has just hit me like a ton of bricks and I’m gonna end this here. Stay positive, enjoy the Comments from Fans like you, below, and game on.

NEW! Valley of the Pharaohs RPG – 40th Anniversary Edition
The original Valley of the Pharaohs RPG is a rare, expensive collectible if you can even find it. But now you can get the super-expanded, 254 page, 40th Anniversary Edition softcover – or – the 274 page hardcover with bonus material, from Palladium Books. The new, 40th Anniversary Valley of Pharaohs is written and published by the original author, Matthew Balent (Weapons and Armor, Weapons & Castles, etc.). Like the original game, it uses its own, unique game rules – not the Palladium game system – but they, like the game world and text, are unique and fun.
This game is authorized by Kevin Siembieda and Palladium Books and includes many of Kevin’s original VotP RPG illustrations and maps.
If you are a Palladium Books collector or you love Egyptian mythology and historical fiction, this game is a must. It is likely as close as you’ll come to owning the original Valley of the Pharaohs. Besides, this is a vastly expanded and improved edition that includes all those original ideas and much of the artwork vastly expanded and improved. The original rule book was only 64 or 96 pages, plus maps; this is a 250+ page tome by the scholarly Matthew Balent and is an alternative reality, ancient Egypt that is epic and well written. It’s a fun read filled with ideas, magic, monsters, and characters you can, with a little work, convert to Palladium Fantasy, Rifts, or any RPG world.
Play humans or Bird People, Crocodilian People, Dog People, Snake People, and more!
Character Classes include: Priest, Thief, Military, Scholar, and more.
300+ magic spells inspired by Egyptian myth and classic fantasy.
Many magic items, magic pictures and more.
Dozens of monsters and supernatural beings like the mummy, sphinx, sand slug, and others drawn from or inspired by Egyptian mythology.
Learn about Ka (magic), Maat (alignment and order), and Kismet.
Clear and concise Egyptian lore, its society, and history.
Game rules and writing by Matthew Balent.
A complete RPG with unique rules. Note: Does not use the Palladium game rules.

After these past five crazy years, you deserve to do something nice for yourself and your gaming pals. The Surprise Package Offer gets you physical game books at PDF prices, and we will sign them if you would like us to.
What is a Christmas Surprise Package? A smile and a hug that comes in a box filled with signed game books from available Palladium staff and freelancers. And God knows this year continues to be so crazy, we need something fun like the Christmas Surprise Package to bring a little joy and laughter into our lives. With so many people suffering from the fallout of the election, inflation, and related doldrums, we can all use some time escaping into realms of role-playing adventures. Not to mention the huge savings and autographs available via a Palladium Christmas Surprise Package.
A Surprise Package is your way to get physical books (and autographs if you want them) for PDF prices! $100+ worth of Palladium products for only $60 (plus shipping)! That can nab you four or more items when these days one core rule book can cost you that alone.
These Surprise Packages are our way of saying thank you for your support and showing you our love and appreciation. It’s a surprise because you never know exactly what you’re going to get or who will sign your books, because we pick from your Wish List and may surprise you with stuff you are not expecting. Extra items may include other RPGs, sourcebooks, issues of the Rifter®, novels, miniatures, prints, art books, greeting cards, T-shirts, negatives, and other items. Some books may be slightly damaged (scuffs, scratches, dings, a crunched corner, etc.) so we can send you more.
You get a ton of stuff on the cheap, you can get a bunch of autographs (if you want ‘em), and you look like you spent a fortune. Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store
I am adding new collectibles of all kinds to my Ebay store in time for the holiday season.
I’ve been excited to see what Matthew Balent has done with the Valley of the Pharaohs RPG ever since he asked me if Palladium Books would allow him to expand his original game and self-publish it. That was two years ago. I think it is worth the read and is filled with well written lore, magic, monsters, people and society inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology. On this alternate Earth, magic and the supernatural are real. As I noted in the product description, this will be your best chance at ever getting Valley of Pharaohs because there are so few in existence. And this 40th Anniversary Edition is a far superior product.
Folks are getting excited about the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG coming next year. They should be, because the books and all products are beautiful. I actually teared up when the FanRoll test products arrived. Wow. You can still get Kickstarter prices on select products via the TMNT & Other Strangeness Pre-Order Store.
Looking for something fun to watch? Check out the Official History of Palladium Books on the Palladium Books® YouTube Channel. Available now are episodes on:
January Week One – A Tale of the Defilers (stories about Kevin’s legendary Palladium of Desires fantasy campaign that inspired him to start Palladium Books).
Future episode include everything you’d expect: Heroes Unlimited, Valley of the Pharaohs, TMNT, Robotech RPG, Sentinels, Macross II, Beyond the Supernatural, Ninjas & Superspies, Rifts, Nightbane, Dead Reign, and more, all in loose chronological order. Many are already in the can. Released every two weeks.
Order your Stocking Stuffer items from our sale and Surprise Packages while you still can. Meanwhile, enjoy the Surprise Package comments and don’t let the holiday stress get to you. Stay frosty and finish your shopping! Ho, ho, ho.

Surprise Package Comments from fans like you
Every year we like to post a selection of the comments we get from Surprise Package customers. It’s a nice acknowledgement and thank you to them (you know who you are) and you enjoy reading them. I read each and every comment that comes in the Surprise Packages, and they always brighten our day. We all appreciate your kind words, suggestions, and insights. In fact, the idea to do hardcover editions of core rule books came from fan comments in the Grab Bags. We get a lot so we can only offer a sampling of these comments in the Weekly Updates.
Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have stuck with Palladium through thick and thin and now these new strange times. Please use our games to find escape from your day to day grind and worries. Use them to bring a little joy, laughter, and adventure to the holiday season and beyond.
Your comments and support mean the world to all of us. Thank you for making us smile and feel valued. As always, I have tried to write a short response [in brackets] to each comment. Happy holidays.

J.E. in Mesa, Arizona, writes (in part): Palladium is my favorite game company. It was the first publisher I ever brought and I’ve loved the books for 30+ years now. I went to Gen Con for the first time this year with one of the main reasons to meet Kevin. I did and he was gracious enough to spend almost an hour chatting with me. It was fantastic. Thank you so much for years of joy.
[Whew, I’m glad I didn’t disappoint you at Gen Con, J.E. The main reason we go is to meet and chat with our fans. Glad you enjoy our games so much. We have plenty more grand adventures in store for everyone. – Kevin]

J.C. in Port Townsend, Washington, writes: Rifts® is the game I’ve played the most, but I grew up watching my brothers play Robotech® and TMNT & Other Strangeness. Thank you for last year’s goodies. The Chainsaw Glitter Boy mini made some friends quite jealous. By the way, I’ve been loving the interviews on the Glitterbois [podcast].
[I’m glad last year’s Surprise Package hit the spot, J.C., I think you’ll like this year’s package too. The Glitterbois podcasts with me are tons of fun. Also take a look at Palladium’s YouTube channel for similar interviews about Palladium’s origin and its games. – Kevin]
A.W. in Mountain Grove, Missouri, writes (in part): I and my gaming group have greatly enjoyed the Palladium game system for over 20 years now. Most of us started out playing 2nd Edition D&D, and it will always hold a special place for us. However, due to the all-around ease of the Palladium system, and the near infinite possibilities that emerge from having so many different settings using the same mechanics, our games quickly transitioned away from other systems. For us, the Palladium rules are now the bar by which we compare all other game systems. Over the years, several members of our group have been able to make it to various Palladium Open Houses. Normally, it’s only been 1 or 2 of us and then the rest got to hear about it (and be jealous). However, in 2009, five of us were able to attend and I have to say it was a truly amazing experience … please have another Open House soon.
[Game on, A.W., I love infinite possibilities! We are considering hosting a Palladium Open House in 2026 or 2027. We will keep you folks posted in a future Weekly Update, but you might wanna start putting some money aside for it, just in case. Ho, ho, ho – Kevin]

COMING SOON – Palladium Books Channel on YouTube! The Palladium YouTube channel already exists, but we’ll be adding a series of “official” chats/interviews between me and JM Defoggi regarding the chronological history of Palladium Books. We start by touching upon my career as an artist in comic books and gaming for such companies as Judges Guild (D&D), GDW (Traveller) and others. For those of you who don’t know, my original plan was to be a comic book creator/artist/writer. Palladium Books and game design were supposed to be temporary until I broke into comics. The next thing I knew, I had a successful company on my hands and a new career that I loved. These videos should start getting posted sometime in October. I hope you like ‘em. When we’ve covered the history, we will probably go back to explore personal moments, people, and events.
A BIT OF FUN – Granite State Comic Con photos in Closing Thoughts! We’re letting photos do most of the talking in this week’s Closing Thoughts. The convention was a blast and we can’t wait to return next year.
GiveSendGo Fundraising for BRIC needs our help
Some of you have supported this good cause before. It is a charity close to the heart of me and Sean, and every dollar goes direct to the people who need it, which makes a HUGE difference in saving lives in the Congo. Even a small donation is greatly appreciated, so please give if you can. Thank you so very much for your past financial support of RIGHT’s efforts to feed and protect the people rescued and sustained by the lifesaving BRIC project.
Through your donations, BRIC has been able to install an armored security gate, build enclosure walls, construct a building for offices and classrooms, and an enlarge a stage where students perform the creative, self-help exercises learned through BRIC seminars, as well as music and dance performances that inform and uplift the community. Most recently, they have built a small structure with a toilet and shower, as well as installed basic electricity to the compound. All of this is in addition to rescuing and rehabilitating those once forced into service as child soldiers and worse by rogue warlords and bandits.
These life sustaining improvements could not happen without your prayers and financial assistance since 2022, but our crusade to save and improve the lives of the people in the region is far from complete.
Feuding rebel warlords dangerously close to the homes of the people of Goma continue to control many roads, disrupt and block food supply lines, and harass the people. This has forced many citizens of Goma to turn to BRIC for help. Without that help, they must resort to foraging for food in the rebel-filled forest where they risk their lives or capture. Children left alone while parents forage for food are at great risk of being kidnapped and trafficked. BRIC allows fathers and mothers to drop their children at the enclosure. At this safe haven the children are fed with limited supplies of food, given school lessons, and provided other help as needed.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is currently facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. People are displaced, starving, and homeless. Making safe havens like BRIC necessary for survival. Please join me (Kevin Siembieda) and Sean Owen Roberson by helping in any way you can. Your donations, small or large, will save lives. Thank you.

COMING SOON – Rifts® Glitterbois podcasts starting around mid-October. There will probably be at least a couple podcasts about Rifts®. WARNING: We sometimes digress into fun topics about game mechanics, Game Mastering, personal RPG experiences, and the many talented people who helped me create these iconic games. Always a fun, casual conversion amongst gamers.
COMING SOON – Palladium Books Channel on YouTube! The Palladium YouTube channel already exists, but we’ll be adding to it soon. One of the many things we have been working on behind the scenes is a series of “official” chats/interviews between me and JM Defoggi regarding the history of Palladium Books. We start by touching upon my career as an artist in comic books and gaming for such companies as Judges Guild (D&D), GDW (Traveller) and others. For those of you who don’t know, my original plan was to be a comic book creator/artist/writer. Palladium Books and game design was supposed to be temporary until I broke into comics. The next thing I knew, I had a successful company on my hands and a new career that I loved.
These Palladium Books Channel YouTube videos should start getting posted sometime in October. I hope you like ‘em. The focus of the first 20 videos has been a chronological presentation by game line with a focus on the books and their creation; all subjects we think you would like to hear about most. But we are considering going back to cover more personal moments, people, and events after we finish that initial book release chronology. Doing these chats with the energetic and knowledgeable JM has made us both realize what a wonderful life I have lived, all the things I have done, and all the amazing people I have met and worked with. So we may go back to talk about my experiences during the early days of Gen Con, the early Palladium crew (Maryann, Alex, Erick, Matt Balent, Bill Loebs, Kevin Long, Ramon Perez, Keith Parkinson, etc.), and moments like our first small warehouse flooding on Christmas Eve, storing and shipping books from my little house on Casper street that was constantly getting broken into and robbed, Detroit’s comic book convention history and my meeting people like Gene Roddenberry, George Romero, Stan Lee, Neal Adams, and countless others. Watch for it.
Granite State Comic Con was amazing! Sean and I had the best time there. The love and positivity from Turtles fans and gamers was palpable. The gaming coordinator, Doug Shute, was sharp and helpful, and became a life saver when neither we nor the hotel could find a taxi, shuttle, or Uber at 4:00 AM Monday morning to take us to the airport for our 5:40 red-eye flight home. I wish I’d had the presence of mind to take a photo of Doug in his pajamas for blackmail purposes. What a great guy, that Doug. Granite State Comic Con is a convention Sean and I highly recommend. And their RPG area is growing by leaps and bounds. We’re already talking about coming back as guests next year in a much bigger way.
Kevin Eastman gave me a big hug, signed a few books, let us grab a few photos, and chatted awhile. I love that guy … but who doesn’t, right?. It was also wonderful to reconnect with my dear friend and artist extraordinaire Freddie E. Williams. It had been years. I had the privilege of finally meeting his delightful and lovely wife Kiki, in person, and more hugs, laughter, and chatting ensued. Luis Antonio Delgado also leapt up from behind his table all smiles to hug and chat with me and Sean, as did Jim Lawson, Mike Rooth, and others. There were dozens of TMNT comic book artists and writers present and we had the pleasure of meeting a host of them including Ben Bishop, Fero Pe, Erick Talbot, Steve Lavigne, Danny Harrell, Hugh Rookwood, Erik Burnham, and Michael Dialynas to name but a few.
The gaming area was right next to the TMNT artist alley which was super-convenient, but we still didn’t have the time to meet and chat with everyone. I very much wanted to talk with Tom Waltz and others but we just didn’t have time. Why? Because we were thrilled with the number of gamers who came by our booth to say hello. I signed more TMNT & Other Strangeness RPGs and early editions of Rifts® RPGs than I have in 20 years. Awesome! I was so busy prior to the convention that I had forgotten to send in my bio and photo to the convention until a week or two before the event, so I was not listed in the program book and a lot of people didn’t know I was attending. Sorry, that’s all my fault and will NOT happen again. Sean and I are 90% certain we will be back next year with the Redux Editions and a much larger selection of our books. So start planning now you East Coast gamers, we’ll see you next year.
It was a delight to catch up with my old pal Steve Jackson and we enjoyed meeting and talking with SJG’s CEO Meredith Placko and SJG game designer Irene Zielinski, both awesome human beings like Steve. We had a rollicking fun time with Chaosium cartographer and writer Matt Ryan and his wife Casey. They are very nice and fun people. In fact, Matt has threatened to swing by the Palladium studio the next time he’s in town.
Our thanks to the convention organizers, workers/Red Shirts, guests, and the multitude of gamers and TMNT fans who paid us a visit at our table. It all adds up to a great time and fond memories I will cherish my entire life. Yes, it was that good. See my Closing Thoughts for a bit more about the convention and William Shatner.
Thank you.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
Fond memories and William Shatner
I’ve said it before and I will say it till the day I die, Palladium fans are the greatest in the world, bar none. Though TMNT fans come darn close, and we have a lot of them in our corner too. We met a lot of nice fans from both camps at Granite State Comic Con, and folks loved seeing color preview pages of the Redux Edition and the Mutagen Green dice. As people talked with Sean about the layout and rules clarifications, and other elements of the book, you could just see the excitement building inside of them. Many were pleased to learn they could still pre-order the main Redux editions, the Black White and Red editions, the Game Master Screen, and the Mutagen Green Dice Set via the Pre-Order Store at the lower Kickstarter prices – saving around $10 per book. Speaking of TMNT stuff, you should take a look at the TMNT: Evolution, Mutation, and Reboot Kickstarter for what sounds like a comprehensive new TMNT documentary from Definitive Film.
Sean and I want to give a special shout out to long time Palladium fan, supporter, and friend Peter Porcaro who drove in to help man the booth all day Saturday. This enabled Sean and me to participate in a number of panel talks and chat with other guests. We enjoyed a nice dinner Saturday night with Peter and on Sunday night with Nicholas Kay from TransPerfect Gaming [they did the beautiful TMNT miniature sculpts, and hopefully even more interesting things in the future. ~Sean]. Like I said, we had a great time visiting with great friends and wonderful fans. Sean and I love and appreciate our fans and enjoy talking with you and signing your books. That includes Adam and Jennifer from Pinckney, Michigan, who dropped by the Palladium offices for a tour and some signatures.
Sean and I took a break Wednesday evening to experience the William Shatner Live on Stage event at the Fisher Theater in Detroit. First we watched a special screening of the movie Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, followed by Shanter coming out to do an hour and a half chat with the audience. The man is 93 years old, yet full of life and vitality. He was sharp, fun, and absolutely hilarious! I don’t know the last time I laughed that much at any event. At the end, Sean turned to me and asked, “Is it just me, or is William Shatner the funniest man alive?” You know, he might just be. Seriously. I have seen many comedy legends in my lifetime and I must say, Shatner stands right up there with the best of them. It was a complete surprise that left us astonished. Worth every penny. If you’re a William Shatner fan and this show comes to your town, you must see it. It was so much fun.
