WOTC to close forums
Has anyone posted this yet? Will Palladium follow suit? I doubt they will as long as they can.

Wow, that's a fairly hefty call. I haven't used their forums in years, though I'm sure there's a ton of complaints.

Re: WOTC to close forums
To me this seems like a Hazmat influenced call. Sorry, I mean Hasbro. They don't like the idea that a subsidiary might have a place where their products are discussed, criticized and people share information freely.
Where as in the RPG world, that is part of the whole experience. Oh well, their loss.

They aren't the first (ie GW) and I am sure they won't be the last.
Facebook is providing the discussion space for a lot of companies these days anyway. Forums may be a dying breed as far as the internet goes.

Looks to be a quiet internet future for me, I don't touch the social networks.

They but GW loves to hate its player/fan base.

I agree with that statement.
I do like forums better than facebook. Just my personal preference.
Re: WOTC to close forums
It sort of depends on the community of a forum and effective moderation. It is very easy for a forum to become very negative and if that happens it can be more of a liability than an asset for that companies products. Some companies either don't have the resources/time or care to moderate their own forums enough to weed out bad actors and keep things civil. This happens with video game communities as well.
