Not to my knowledge. Transformers, Gobots, "Masters of the Universe", GI Joe, Voltron, and MASK have all made a few appearances, but not Robotech.

Harmony Gold is notoriously aggressive in defending their IP rights, and might easily find some way to get ownership of Cartoon Network if Robot Chicken tried...

Well some people claim to hear RT's Background Music for some clips on "The Late Show with David Letterman". I don't watch it any more, haven't in years. I can't see watching it again just to see if they do it again.

CN or more specifically Adult Swim might still be able to do it as a parody and get away with it. Do shows like SNL and MadTV have to pay the licence holders to parody their movies/TV show episodes?

no...
parody is protected under the law in the US
contrary to popular thought permission to parody is not even required.

Every group has one problem player. If you cannot spot the one in your group; look in the mirror.
It is not a good session until at least one player looks you in the eye and says "you sick twisted evil ****"

It is, unfortuantely, kind of a grey area. I know a company was going to put on a stage production of "A SHoggoth on the Roof" and got slapped with a cease-and-desist order from the guy who wrote "A fiddler on the roof", and it held up in court. So...somehow, Parody is not as protected as we would like to think it is...

That, and Harmony Gold owns the right to the IMAGES, so Robot Chickenreally would not be able to do something without Harmony Gold's permission, sinceit would involve using their copyrighted material
