What is your Opinions on the AtB,s books?

Unread post by gaby »

Tell me what AtB books are the must haves and the ones I can pass on?

Why do you think I need to have that book for any of my AtB game to Work?

ATB stuff only? Or the older stuff that was printed under both the TMNT and the ATB label?

Alot of material printed was for the old system, before AtB became it's own RPG, and will not have some of the changes like vestigals for each animal. However if you want to obtain books to get new animals then I suggest the following. Road Hogs, Mutants Down Under, and Mutants in Avalon. Although not part of the AtB series Transdimensional Turtles has stats on creating perhistoric mutants like T-Rexs and Wooly Mammoths.
Showoff often leads to showdown
Svartalf- Shinobi, You're twisted
Mack- I'm constantly amazed at what people will put their energy into. This planet needs more predators.
Saitou Hajime- What kind of Americian are you?
Shadyslug- Good question

Don't forget Mutants of the Yucatan. Emerald boas can be a lot of fun - and the Pin/Incapacitate and Crush/Squeeze rules are a lot more detailed in that book.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminder. I forgot about Yucatan. How silly of me. My rattler character was made from that book.

I felt that the Yucatan book had somethign lacking, but that was made up in the booklet that was included with the AtB shields.

And no, you can't have them. 8]~

Not the first edition AtB. Unless it's for collection purposes. Alot, if not everything was reprinted in the new AtB main book.

If it came right down to having to pick one over the other...TMNT/AtB1 would be my choice hands down. But, given the price it's worth it just to buy it all; though you'll have to scrounge around to find the TMNT core book.

Personally I have them all. I just love mutants, and when you combine Mutants and Ninjas, whoa. Seriously, get them all. you can find them pretty cheap second hand, and the nostalgia is more than worth it.

Ask your local comic book guy, these things had huge print runs and are pretty common. E-bay always has some up for auction.

Depends on which edition your looking for...if you want a first printing complete with the cover misspellings of strangeness then it's going to be more difficult.

Yea I forgot about that. Also the non revised edition is full of errors on the inside as well.

That, and the insanity/psychosis tables in the first editions are pretty interesting given the conservatism of the boards. I saw on ebay once where there were books that had the tables steamed off, I never saw any of those. I have three editions to include a first printing.
