Here’s a bit of “unedited” text from a piece I just finished.
Davey Jones Vampire & General of the Milu
(Note: The Milu are a cool, new race and menace.)
Davey Jones began life as a human during the age of pirates. He did a little privateering and pirating on the open seas before collecting enough loot to retire back home in London, England. There he purchased and opened up a pub with his ill gotten gains. As Davey spent his money and grew greedier, the cutthroat waylayed unsuspecting drunks and patrons at his tavern, by adding a sedative to the brew he served them. He’d then lock his victims away in his wine cellar/locker and sell them to pirates going out to sea as slave crew and labor. A number of his unfortunate victims made it back to Britain several years latter and extracted their revenge upon Davey. They drugged him, took him aboard their ship, and after he gained consciousness, they tortured and tormented him for weeks. Davey was finally made to walk the plank with an iron ball chained to his leg to send him to the oceans deep. To save himself Davey offered to serve whatever dark god would have him. As the waves engulfed him, Davey thought he heard a voice in the darkness calling to him. When the pirate reawakened, he was transformed into something no longer human. The dark warm voice spoke once to him again, this time from the cold, black, ocean depth. It explained that his plea had been heard, that he, Davey Jones, had been chosen and reshaped into a lesser god. A god of vengeance and death destined to lead an army against the forces of goodness and light. Davey would do so by destroying all that was good, raising the dead and helping the dark deity’s chosen people – monstrous beings the voice named the Milu – conquer the world. With Davy Jones to lead them as their General, they would make the oceans of Earth their new domain. Davey’s reward, besides immortality, the title of Supreme General, and the power of a god, was all the treasure and loot he could take. To be granted the power to make this happen, all Davey Jones had to do was to forsake humanity and embrace his new dark god and live as a god among men and Milu. Davey Jones had forsaken humanity long ago, so the choice was an easy one. Somehow, Davey Jones didn’t care that his transformation had taken centuries or that the world around him has been changed as drastically as he himself. Instead, he embraced the chaos, weird aliens and new challenges of Rifts Earth. In fact, he is often said to laugh and boast how he was made for this new world and dreams of the day when all within it will bow down before him . . .
Sorry, that’s all for now.

I'd be cool if he was changed by the Lord of the Deep but I bet it was something else that we can only currently speculate upon.

Hopefully 'vampire' is a turn of phrase referring to life/blood draining, rather than traditional Palladium vampire. Even I would have a hard time with the cognitive dissonance trying to accept that would take. Curious where he is going with this, sounds like he's throwing an aquatic undead faction into the mix.

Meh. Not a fan of this idea. It sounds like a lame attempt at making a "similar" Davey Jones to the one in PotC: Deadman's Chest. Both are essentially immortal, both have armies of undead...eh. I'll definitely ignore that part of the book...just like I did with Mega and Dragon Juicers in Juicer Uprising.

So long as he doesn't look like octopus face I'll be able to stomach it. I generally like the concept, so long as the character isn't truely immortal (IE can't be killed), has no heart in a box weakness and doesn't look like an octopus swallowed his face, I am cool.
I'm too tired of cliches to like this bit- the whole "Davy Jones" thing seems like just another mega-cliche. I'm curious about the "vampire" bit, and assuming that they have some reason why he won't dissolve when he gets wet. This might be cool, or it might be lame, depending on what it is.
Basically, this isn't going to turn me off of the book (though I'm luke-warm about it at best anyway), but it doesn't make me interested in buying the thing (though I most likely will anyway at some point).

Listen, I would rather have mega and dragon juicers in the game world. Especially Dragon Juicers.
Reason? Juicers are already tough enough. Dragon Juicers have an expensive process that increases their lifespan. Unfortunately, it's VERY, VERY expensive. Want to limit your dragon juicer? Sure, he can extend his lifespan, but it COSTS BIG BUCKS. As a GM, I'll take that tradeoff any day of the week.
So far is quite nebulous to actually judge. Is generic and I have to read thing to properly express my opinion Could be promising if is something unique and fitting the Rifts setting.

Ehh, I think Davy Jones should be ignored for an NPC treatment. Lets be honest, Is it only being made, because of certain movie francise ? Yeah. Seems so.
