A lot of R.C.C.s and O.C.C.s start out picking a lot of languages but I never feel like there are enough to pick from. Sounds lame huh?
I was hoping someone could post a list of languages and dialects that are commonly spoken throughout the Megaverse. These can be made up languages (made up names for the languages common to specific D-Bee races, etc.). Just have fun with it. Official languages would be nice but I am just trying to compile a nice list for a bit of diversity. Here in Australia we are a one language country so the idea of a single place having a lot of different languages isn't exactly my strong suite.
Thanks.

Well there are 6 Trade Languages in the Three Galaxies. Named Trade one through six. There is Faerie, Gobbley, Dragoneese and Demongogian, as the predominant monster languages. Fantasy languages, Oger, Elven, Dwarven, Troll, Wolven. Ancient languages. Atlantean, Greek, Latin. And of course all the languages of earth today. Most popular, Euro, Technocan, Russian, Chineese, Spanish,
I can think of more, but not right now.

Gromek is a canon language as well according to the Conversion Book 1 in the RCC description.

The following are identified as having their own native languages in DoNA (should not be considered full list from book). It should also be noted that some D-Bees have adopted a local Earth language as their Native tongue ("Language: Native (Adopted) Tongue: XXX") or forgotten (or most have), so the list can be longer still from this book: Tirrvol Sword Fists (speak a Dolphin like language, so we can probably add Dolphin) N'mbyr N'reta Obsedai Pogtail Giants Posluznik Roane Tokanii

You missed American, and iirc Dragonese and Elven are the same.
The different Native American tribes would still have their own language, I would also say that the Simvan and Psi-Stalkers have their own.
Despite the popularity of Euro, I could see French and German as popular languages (French more because people associate it with romance and German because it's still used quite a bit in the NGR as seen by the two world books).
There is also Japanese and Mongolian in the main book.

according to RUE: American/English Techno-can (basically a spoken programming language) Spanish Japanese Chinese Euro Draconic/Elven Gobblely Faerie Speak
those are the big 9 in the world. though they are geographically distributed. not all can be found in the same spots. less common ones: Demongogian Russian Mongolian
plus various local ones. i'd imagine france still speaks some form of french (at least the humans), Portugese still being used in parts of South America, etc. there are likely Patois versions of languages in many areas that have become common enough or complete enough to qualify as a full language as well. i could see "spanglish" being a common local language in the pecos empire for example.

Why would they have thier own language? They are mutated humans, and its only been three hundred years. Thats not a challenge to you, just a question
Oh I just thought. Perhaps Psi Stalkers have a form of "hunter code" spoken with hand gestures and facial expressions, for when they hunt the various monsters that stalk the wastelands.
Or they might have a dialect. That would be fun for a GM, blithering some imaged nonsense at confused players. I live for those moments.
Wait, I just answered my own question.
I was also thinking a combination of English, Spanish, various Native American languages, as well as their own added words. The majority live in tribes, not to mention that Spanish (currently) the second most popular language in the US. Granted Spanish is only at 12.4% as of the last Census, but who knows how much it can go up by in a hundred or more years.

Palladium Language/Literacy Skill Listing This should not be considered a complete listing as I don't have all the Rifts Books and it is possible I missed something. World Book 6 mentions the existence of African Languages (I don't have the African World Book, I used RT 1E's Book #7 to add additional human languages in this region), and DB5 mentions 10,000 major languages and x100 dialects. Also some of the D-Bees might have their own dialect versions of existing languages that they use (example Gobbley and Faerie both have such examples). And in some instances the languages for a given race aren't part of their RCC description, but found in NPC language skills (and treated as existing).
I've broken this into several sections. Human Tongues, Non-Human Tongues (or not connected to a human tongue), possible tongues that have been lost/forgotten/unclear (includes Adoptive ones) in the description, non-humans with no identified native tongue, Specialist, Telepathic, Phase World Trade, and Palladium Fantasy Human Tongues. After each entry you will also see the source for the entry. Some of the languages appear to have multiple presentation formats and have been presented as separate dialects, though they may not be (GM call). Telepathic may or may not be universal, but given the use in Trade for Phase World I am inclined to say it is not.
Human/Earth Tongues: Afrikaans (RT 1E#7 pg14) Amercian/English (RUE pg304) -Deep South Dialect -Australian outback Dialect -British Dialect (WB26 pg124) Arabic (RT 1E#7 pg14) Aymara (WB9 pg162) Bushman (RT 1E#7 pg14) Chinese (RUE pg304) -several dialects are vaguely mentioned as being practically their own langauge) Creole (WB6 pg162) Egyptian: Ancient (WB6 pg110) Euro (RUE pg304) French (WB22 pg 39) -Old French (WB22 pg 135) -Old Canadian French (WB20 pg 156) German: Old (SB3 pg14) Greek (WB2 pg 17) -Atlanean is Ancient Greek Dialect (WB2 pg45 & 67) Gypsy (WB5 pg183) Inuit (WB20 pg86) Italian (Shemerian SB pg79) Japanese (RUE pg304) -Oni Dialect (DB3 pg18, put here as it gives Earth Japanese at 50%) Latin (Mercenaries, pg42) Mongolian (RUE pg304) Native American Tongues (WB20 pg 164, this is a catch all as there are multiples) Polish (SB3 pg91) Portuguese (WB6 pg120) Quechua (WB9 pg162) Russian (RUE pg304) Spanish (RUE pg304) Swahili (RT 1E#7 pg14) Techno-Can (RUE pg304) Xhosa (RT 1E#7 pg14) Yorba (RT 1E#7 pg14) Zulu ((RT 1E#7 pg14)
Specialist Tongue (OCC specific): Dark Tongue (DB6 pg82) Elemental (CB1r pg68, single or unique for each elemental type?) Sign Language (WB26 pg58, may come in a variety of forms for a given species)

Adding to the list is certainly possible as there are gaps in coverage from a book standpoint. Could also give D-Bee/Monster/Aliens their own dialect version of existing languages that they use. I did not to that list, though can do it. I also found that some races communicate exclusively through telepathy, which may or may not be a universal thing depending on how GMs have it play out as "words" or "images" in the target's mind, but wasn't sure how to handle that so skipped over them.
