Favorite Weapon

Unread post by Shark_Force »

Just thought i'd throw this out there and see what everyone's favorite weapons are in splicers. this is not intended to be a formal poll, so feel free to put in qualifiers (eg favorite melee weapon, favorite hand-held weapon, etc) or for that matter feel free to add your runner-up. also, i'd like to hear the reason why you like the weapon(s) in question :)

and i guess i'll get things started:

favorite weapon: spore discharger. just something about this i love. it starts off a little slow, but as you add in to it you get a real powerhouse of an AOE weapon against the machines. i also feel it upgrades well, and with repeated fire (especially from a group) i believe it can be an incredibly devastating weapon if used properly. the unlimited ammo is a nice touch too.

favorite melee weapon: concussion staff. i love the knockdown potential, and it works nicely with WP reverse stroke to quickly neutralise an enemy by denying them any actions faster than they can get them.

Without hesitation or qualification bio-e pistols and acidic daggers.

My personal characters tend toward very exceptional PE scores in Splicers and if you've seen the writeup floating around, Ynigma was created using standard Scarecrow rules. The Gene-thief modification didn't add anything to him statwise or by way of permanent bioware upgrades. I need to drag out my character sheets and put all my characters up as NPC inspirations (or copys) for folks.

Mine have already been stolen:

Melee: Acid, acid, and more acid.

Ranged: Like many of you, I'm all for the bio-e vent and spore discharger. Ammo isn't a concern, range is good, and the combo of both is fairly versatile. Bio-E has the potential for tremendous damage and spore discharger offers splash damager. What more could you ask for?

Ok kinda new here so I have never gotten to play splicers but have loved to stories and all the stuff everyone has posted here.

Dual Spiked Hammers. For melee these are very cool weapons they have a short ranged attack as well.
I like Super Light Cells and Omega Blasters for host weapons.
For long range hand held weapons I like the Light Cell Rifle.

I always have some sort of Bio-E vent or pistol. Standard on everything I make.

A light-cell rifle is usually a choice, and I'm fond of the Fan creation Switch-Blade. Its a tentacle whip that stiffens into a sword. Its awesome. Think it's slappy's.

As For HA, I love me some Bio-Rockets and Combat Spurs.

Warmounts are done by design. Nothing spefic goes on all of them but the standard Bio-E Vent.

Switch Blade
A Bio-Tech Switch Blade is far different than its technological equivalent. Instead of a simple spring-loaded knife blade, this weapon is the bizarre combination of a wicked-looking long sword and a serrated whip. A simple mental command from the wielder causes the seemingly solid blade to extend into a ten-foot long whip lined with dozens of razor-sharp thorns and back again. The flexibility of this weapon keeps targets guessing at all times. Opponents cannot stay outside the range of the sword or close the distance to limit the effectiveness of the whip. This formidable melee weapon is utterly devastating in the hands of a skilled user, but warriors must possess W.P. Sword and W.P. Whip in order to wield a Switch Blade effectively.

Weight: 3 lbs.
Mega-Damage: 3D6 M.D. per sword strike, or 2D6 M.D. per lash of the whip. The Switch Blade can also be used to entangle an opponent much like the Serrated Whip Bio-Enhancement (see page 96 of the Splicers RPG for entanglement rules).
M.D.C. of the Weapon: 100 M.D.C. As a living Bio-Weapon, damage regenerates at the rate of 3D6 M.D.C. per minute, and a severed part of the whip will regrow in 24 hours.
Bonuses: +1 to strike and parry, +2 to disarm, and +3 to entangle.
Trade Value: 1000 credits.

If it has ever been posted on this board, i have it-I'm pretty sure this is slappy's work.

Dual Omega-Blasters with all upgrades. Pure destruction.
Dual Shoulder Heat Canons with all upgrades.
Maximum amount of Super-Light Cells (4 head, 6 per forearms, = 16+) All upgrades. 2d10 per super-light cell, can be fired in Vollies. 2d10x16 at least ... min 32 mdc, max 320 mdc per volly. Can fire up to HtH attacks per turn. say 6 is usually average. 192 md per round to 1920 md per round.

Yeah Super-Light Cells are my favorites for effect and damages.
