most of the components of a radio you could probably do without metal, but the antenna pretty much requires a very good conductor.

yeah, that would probably work. mind you, the antenna would be anything but sturdy, but gold is at least conductive. in fact, using gold for the main metallic components you'd probably only run into potential problems with weight (if you want it to be portable) and durability (gold is very ductile, which is nice when you want to draw it into a wire, but really crappy when you drop delicate components on the ground and they bend together and create a short circuit). probably the durability issue could be overcome with proper design for the most part, so i guess it would be possible. but the machine would definitely be able to pick up any broadcasts you make, and with the amount of computing power available to the machine (particularly compared to what the resistance has available to encrypt with) i wouldn't expect it to be a particularly secure means of communication.

also, i'm not entirely certain biotech would be the best route for this anyways.

Trouble with using normal RF and/or EMF is that you're subject to interception and compromised operations. There's a hundred million or so genocidal reasons why humanity isn't already using traditional broadcast techniques.

Guy, do keep in mind NEXUS is a collection of high genuis level intellects. If the idea is to bait them somehow, you might want to reconsider you method of choice. Claims of troop movements would be verified with satellite survailance or high altitude drones. NEXUS knows too well their strength lies in either patience or an all out genocidal offensive.

Nah, the Machine is taking a back seat in the LeDouche-verse for a while. It will still be there, just not a major catalyst for a while.

In any case, I would think Machine transmissions would be encrypted, burstable, bounced all over satellites, or something similar to make them nearly impossible to crack. Assuming they could even be deciphered from whatever "language" N.E.X.U.S. chooses to use.

No, I've something forming in the back of my head, just not sure of the logistics or game mechanics yet. Still mulling it over.

no need for metal antennas. Electric eels and some other animals can generate electromagnetic feilds using large banks of muscles. sharks and birds have non-metallic EM feild receivers.

a 'Bio-radio' would use banks of muscles to generate the EMF signals, and the organic recievers as a receiving antenna.
