Romance movies were a good reason that outdoor drive-in movie theatersbecamse 'military targets' for Malcontents, at least in the early days, when one good passionate kiss on the screen could wipe out an invading Zentraedi contingent's cohesion, sending it fleeing back into the wastelands...

Hmm.... evil idea, a bloody action war movie with unexpected love interest!
One minute the zents are gathering around, hollaring and cheering at the sfx of mass destruction, just to suddenly have the main character have to take cover in an old bunker with their love interest during enemy shelling, the shelling stops shortly after a round collapses the entrance and they pass the time getting to know each other while waiting for someone to find them...
At which time the building with the snack/drink shop in it raises up to reveal a giant vending machine for garbage can sized bottles of stomach medicine (like Pepto) and the 'money' slot is big and only accepts weapons/ammo... :demon:

One secret weapon could be a large blimp with a big screen monitors (using lots of little LEDs) on either side, and really large speakers... and some anti-missile weapons... any zents close enough to fire at it will be able to see/hear mushy movies, and anything that tries to attack from afar with missiles is dealt with via the anti-missile weapons...

When (graphic) intimacy becomes a weapon, modesty and restraint in the movies goes out the door....

ROFLMAO

Reminds me that one of the very first 'movies' made was a very short and I think it was called "The Kiss", and it was just that, a guy kissing a gal briefly (which was a bit of a contraversy back then, from what I've heard)

I can see the Post Rain of Death movie industry being made to both entertain humans and to cause extreme psyological effects on Zentraedi... :p

Although there comes the problem when a few Zentran/Meltran get a bit curious due to being desensitized after one or two exposures... and while the rest of the Zentraedi are getting ready to run away from one of the 'movie traps', they find a Zentran and Meltran have wandered off and are going for a roll in the hay (still clothed, but kising and cuddling) just the other side a small orchard next to the drive in theater, being enough to either scare off the rest of the Zentraedi or gather a super sized audience... at least until one of the couple pus 2 and 2 together and goes for a home run... :P
Next thing you know, people got to move in with heavy earth moving equipment and many dump tricks of sawdust to deal with the results of Zentraedi scale upset stomachs... :D :-) :?

Of course, THAT could also have a similar effect on HUMAN sensibilities...seeing two giant human(oid)s doing the horizontal tango in your backyard would be enough to put some people into cardiac arrest...and give the Zentraedi some wrong ideas...

Make the screen out of a basic mesh framework with material that has low resistance to force and some shape memory, so most shots will just go on through, smaller holes will 'self seal' and most missiles will not encounter enough resistance to think they hit anything, meaning the missile goes clean on through without detonating... and it would be designed so patching it would also be easy...

As for the projector... that's what surplus tanks are for, just chop off most of the mian gun barrel and mount the projector inside of the gun breach... Bekind of hard to blow up the projector or its operator.

Then mount some stationary defenses around the place, which will not only help protect the drive in theater, but will increase the number of customers as the will feel safer about not being mugged by a full sized Zentraedi while watching the movie. Get two shifts of guards 'on duty' at once, one shift operates the defenses, and gets some free snacks and drinks, second shift gets to watch the movie for free on top of some free snacks and drinks. Before the next showing, the shifts swap, second shift mans the defenses and shift one then gets to goof off..

Then have an armored underground bunker warehouse deepunderground (with heavy defenses and a long winding entry way just big enough for a pair of small vehicles to travel in). It would be used for storing pre-fab/modular components and the majority of the supplies and backup copies of movies, so if the Zentraedi do manage to blast the drive in to bits, it only takes some people a few hours to fully rebuild the place.

That should cause movie crashing Zentraedi a little extra grief. :P

With salvaged military stuff, and with the workers partly being paid in free drinks/snacks/food and free movies, it would hopefully cut down on the prices a little bit...
unless the economy has gone to bits, in which case, who cares, food on the table and a place to eat is good enough for most people to do a job, especially if free movies are involved...
people who watch barter for tickets, say a half dozen eggs or a half liter of fuel for one ticket, while a chicken, gallon of fuel, hand gun or ammo magazine gets you a family pass good for up to 8 people.

The moon?! :?
Are you crazy?!
That will just push the Zentraedi to find every big ship gun they can salvage and aim it at the moon and blow it to bits!
Where will all the romantic lovers go at night without a moon?! :( What will they do without the romantic mood of a full moon? (other than the gal doing :thwak: to her date due to not being put in the proper mood...)
Heck, think of the poor werebeasts! Some of them can't transform without a full moon, it would be like having a limb cut off for them!
:frazz:
And what about all those nocturnal predators?!? How will they hunt if there will never be anything more than dim starlight for them to see by?! What will they do at night?

And don't get me started of the other threats of looking up to watch a movie on the moon when night flying birds are in the area...
And there is also the small problem about sound, and the fact the moon is round... and it moves through the sky... not to mention the power needs and problems with getting the system to project a clear image several hundred thousand miles and keep it in focus for everyone on the planet...

I might be cheaper to just convert a Zentraedi flagship into the basis for a low orbit big screen TV... you could use 1m square LEDs and it would probably look like HDTV from several hundred miles away... just make a dozen or so of them (each with several screens at different angles) and put them in geostationary orbit... :ok:

Not surew if its been brought up, (57 pages was just too much to go thru) but in the new novels, there is another half-breed, besides Dana's sister. It was either 19 or 20 (20, I think) about the Zent uprising, just before the Invid arive.
Gamewise, They were more common that humans in my games. On the military bases, the guys all wanted their PCs to date warrior women, which meant Zents. Typical of gamegeeks, their players got more action in a week than most these mooks got all year.

I was saying that in the novels (number 20, I think) the new ones released recently, there was another halfbreed. Cant remember if it survives or not. The "evil" General takes a Zent as a mistress, then tries to kill her when he finds out she's preggers.
But in my game, they were very common, because the guys I gamed with always tried to "hook up" with micronized Zent women.

Ah yes....first appeared in the Malcontent Uprisings comics...then-General Leonard fathers a kid with Miriya's best friend/ex-comrade Seloy, head of the Scavengers...Seloy summons Miriya to take care of her half-blood son while Mom unleashes a biological weapon on the micronians, but Miriya pulls a gun on Seloy instead....dumb kid gets in the way, gets drilled by mistake, and an enraged Seloy gets dropped by the second shot....
Leonard storms the Scavenger camp to wipe them out and to kill off his ex-lover, but also to take custody of his son, only to find both dead....

Funny...you hear a lot about Zentraedi women giving birth to hybrid children, but never a Zentraedi man siring a child with a Human woman...Guess there wasn't much novelty in reporting about men doing what they've traditionally been criticized for...

They also don't scream, pass out, quiver into spinelessness, or constantly try to salute you when in bed(since all Meltraedi are considered to be officers)....

Still, if giant Female Zentraedi wrestling caught on as a major sport, there had to be female clubs with giant Male Zentraedi Chippendale's dancers...though the initial performances likely had the 'talent' prodded out at gun-point....

THat's appeared in at least one fanfiction where Marlene produces an egg(much to everybody's discomforture)....

I believe that Basra Nekki's website for Robotech: LGSA has rules for producing Invid hybrids(MAJOR psychic potentials)...

Of course, besides Scott+Marlene, Lancer+Sera, you also have the chance of the odd renegade Invid, or pre-Departure experiments by the Regis(or sub-Invid) to produce hybrids for various reasons(to see if the Human form is suitable for their species, or simply to create bioweapons against the locals) that can range from teh monstrously sub-human to the supra-evolved(consult the Invid Experiment charts in the Invid Invasion book for ideas...).

Setinals Books. Breetai hooked up with a female. She give birth to his son.(either kicks in womb when Breetai immolates himself to kill the Regent, or was born and saw it. Cant remember) Book 18 actually has his name, and they find out being micronized is bad for growing Zents so all are enlarged again.

Funny...you hear a lot about Zentraedi women giving birth to hybrid children, but never a Zentraedi man siring a child with a Human woman...Guess there wasn't much novelty in reporting about men doing what they've traditionally been criticized for...

If you figure that all Zents are clones and average about 7 years old, the zents are not as emotionally developed as humans. So human men, who know what they want, are more able to get it. While the emotionally shy zent males in the shy and aquarde stage still. It would of balanced out in a generation or so. If the events had let them.

Also, you never read anything about Zentraedi having children that are not hybrid (Human/Zentraedi).

Setinals Books. Breetai hooked up with a female. She give birth to his son.(either kicks in womb when Breetai immolates himself to kill the Regent, or was born and saw it. Cant remember) Book 18 actually has his name, and they find out being micronized is bad for growing Zents so all are enlarged again.[/quote]

Yep Mr B does hook up with a taisty Meltrady.

Their son gets a look @ his daddy at the end of the "End of the Circle" book in the Time bending vortex that the SDF-3 goes throught to get out of the alternate univers that the Invid had gone to @ the end of "Symphony ofLight".

I would say that of the RT races, only the Praxiens, Tirolians, andthe Zentradiee can procreate with humans.

Combination....Kazianna(Breetai's lover) knows she's pregnant by the time Breetai dies, but evidentally hadn't told him yet...later in the McKinney continua when the Sentinels experience a Singularity that allows them to see across timescapes of personal revelance to each person...Kazianna and Drannin see Breetai and his son hails him...with the hint that SOMEHOW Breetai went to his death knowing he would have a living legacy..(hey, I shed a tear, even though I didn't particularly like 'End of the Circle')

Sadly, if the new Robotech is trying to cut its ties to the old designs and possible copyrights, we'll NEVER see the next-generation Zentraedi....ergh!

Breetai hooked up with one of those Amazon females, no? Bela or something, according to the non-canon books.

Angelo Dante of the 15th ATAC...with Gnea, Bela's adopted sister, in one of the funniest sex scenes in the novels.
Sean Philips later jests that 'they'll arm-wrestle to see who carries the other across the threshold...'

"What's with the nueral mace?! I thought this was supposed to be a sex aid?"
"It is...Praxians prefer to stun their prey before moving in....The nueral mace is an improvement over the old wooden clubs they used to use....tended to leave their mates with darn little memory of their night of passion beyond the ringing concussion..."

"Doctor Grant? We got another case found outside the Praxian barracks..."

"Ah, notice the spastic lower body motions, the perpendicular hairl follicle positioning relative to the body, and the stunned and bewildered look on the face, the rigor-like paralysis of the shoulders, and the acute dehydration....*sigh*....Those girls just have to been told not to use those things until we've figured out any long term health risks..."

Re-engage the male's brain with military coffee...it's readily available on REF ships and kills zombies on contact(or restores them to life)...Besides, mess sargeants are used to seeing brain-dead crewmembers come shambling in and have a hot pot ready to pour....
