Re: CS Rifts Magic Scientists

I did read over your post, but given the CS is written as the 'Evil Empire' and likes to spend time finding creative ways to torture and kill non-humans and magic users you simply aren't going to have anyone last for very long in the military chain of command for showing tolerance of magic in any fo...

Re: The Robotech Masters Never Came...

I'm not sure why Monument City would end up destroyed in that scenario, given it would have no military value in a purely human war and without its destruction the Flower of Life wouldn't be spread to attract the Invid anyway. I suppose you could argue it just naturally exploded on its own at a poin...

Re: Cosmo-Knight mounts??

Why would a Cosmo Knight even have need of a mount? They can fly and even go FTL if they've the PPE handy, it'd be redundant to have a mount when it likely wouldn't be able to keep up with his flight speed and they have little to no need for anything to need a mount for transport. If they felt the n...

Re: CS Rifts Magic Scientists

Always seemed to me the OCC is in direct violation of the 'magic and powers is evil' mindset of the Coalition, given they have clearly developed powers and should be in the mindset shown of the Coalition immediately destroyed as 'contaminated'. The Coalition can't even handle psionic powers yet the...

Valid cross-over points into Robotech

Just wondering at what points you'd consider valid given the nature of the Palladium Multiverse setting for someone to end up rifted into (or out of) the Robotech setting, to cover a cross-over event? From what I remember of the series (haven't rewatched it in a while) when the SDF-1 used the spacef...

Re: Glitterboy Cyclone...Viable Idea?

I've always liked the idea of a Glitter Boy Veritech myself, particularly since the veritech at least is very well sized for using a Boom Gun. Might need to install some anti-grav backpacks from Phase World to offset the weight increase but you could end up with an impressively maneuverable veritech...

Re: Weapons upgraded with magic questions

You also have to take into consideration how much more powerful that capability is in Rifts than Nightbane. That justifies that increased PPE cost. If one is including added spells the Rifts version is more useful yes, but it's still basically inferior to what was developed in the NIghtbane setting...

Re: The Veritech Hovertank.....

Hmmm, why is it the Hovertank is written with particle beam weaponry here, as a heavy ion cannon in the book, and yet in the episode where they're trapped in the trash compactor and one goes into full cannon mode only for his weapon to go reflecting all over the place they clearly refer to the walls...

Re: Gizmoteer's Question ..

I'd go with the +7D6. Otherwise everyone in the game will be playing gizmoteers. lol Why wouldn't they already when they can run an ATL-7 on 1 ISP per shot. You know I always wondered about that myself, it was a mega-powerful weapon that as you note with a Gizmoteer conversion to ISP could do massi...

Re: Weapons upgraded with magic questions

Federation of Magic has a spell that works like that and has that as its purpose. In basic function, it changes an SDC weapon into a MD dealing weapon and can be either temporary or permanent. It's also far more expensive than the Nightbane version (especially when you consider that the cost to mak...

Re: Out of curiosity....favorite/best/most cost-effective PA?

For me it tends to be a toss-up between the Silverhawk for its impressive range of features and the particle beam cannon outfitted space Glitter Boy. While its ammo load-out is limited due to its special capacitor requirement it does an impressive 4d6*10 damage with serious range and is a touch more...

Re: Gizmoteer's Question ..

Hmmm, I find it interesting how many kept changing the definition of 'add one die of damage for every two levels' to mean 'add 1d6 damage for every two levels' and redefining the damage dice listed in the example to support that contention even when the given example is shown moving a weapon doing d...

Weapons upgraded with magic questions

I'm curious with regards to the Enchant Weapon spell from Nightspawn/bane as it explicitly notes it works on modern weapons permanently rendering them into magical weapons doing double-damage to supernatural creatures and its being used (along with some other spells) in the Rifts setting. This spell...

Ninjas and Superspies question/thought

Couldn't find anything in the older posts regarding this but how many have noticed that in Ninjas and Superspies when it comes to the Weapons Construction and Microchip Technology Gizmoteer programs that they're completely wrong about what you can do with them? There's an explicit note you can't mak...

Re: Are the nuclear power cells removable?

There's a reference in the Skelebot Graveyard section of Shadows Of Evil, Book 5 in the Coalition's siege on Tolkeen that refers to someone knowledgeable in it (like an Operator) being able to salvage a micro-nuclear power supply such as used in bots and power armor in the wreckage so clearly one ca...
