Reloading?

So I just got this book the other day, and after looking for a system that handles Cold War-era combat for years I'm pretty happy with it. I do need a rules clarification though: how does reloading work? Maybe I missed it, but it seems that there is no actual 'reloading' in the game, and that's inst...

Re: Any word on that rifts savage worlds game?

I'm actually curious, once this comes out, how will this affect the No Conversions rule? Will conversion from the Palladium system to Savage Worlds be allowed, or not?

Other than that, I'm really excited about this game and I can't wait to get ahold of it.

Called Shots and Target Range/Speed

It's been about ten years since I've actually played Rifts, and I'm looking to get back into it and run a game for my usual gaming group. Back when I last played Rifts, we used the combat rules straight out of RUE, and I wasn't even aware that ranged combat had been revised a bit in the Game Master'...

Houserules: De-powering vampires?

I'm sending the party in my game from Florida to Mexico, mainly because of all the places in RIFTS America I've never really been in any games set in Mexico. The biggest thing is that I want to power down vampires a bit, just to make things a little bit easier for them (since it seems to be the gene...

Re: Favorite House Rule

My house rules are generally pretty simple, but I'm still quite new to RIFTS. Essentially, any weapon that has a "pulse" setting, like say a Wilk's laser pulse rifle or any of the CS assault rifles, doesn't inflict burst-fire penalties. The shots are said to be near-simultaneous anyway, so...

For GM's: How do you stat out enemies?

Basically, how do you stat out dime-a-dozen mooks that your players take on in bulk. The CS Grunts or Bandits who are basically villainous cannon fodder and all that? With the time it takes to stat out one full character, I'm looking for a quick and easy method to make a bunch of bad guys in one go.

1) I can't even remember, it's been so long. 2) Rogue Dog-Boy (actually a hyena, but I used the Dog Boy RCC as a template) Wilderness Scout. 3) It sounded like a fun idea at the time. I'm not even sure what motivated me to make him a mutant hyena, but I knew from the beginning I wanted to play a Wil...

I sort of figured the art wasn't canon ever since the beginning. There's no way people would survive running around Rifts Earth wearing what they do without some serious esoteric protection.

If they're going to be out on their own, and they have the right equipment and skills, they could make new or additional armor from MDC hides as necessary. If nothing else, they could probably make some kind of bulky (penalties) ponchos from dino hide to wear over their normal armor. And/or find ou...

Re: Repairing MDC

Yup. It's not something that you can do again until the armor loses the last repairs you did on it, either. And I don't think that both of those would stack either: the 1d6 from General Maintenance & Repair shouldn't be added on top of the 20 that the Field Armorer should be able to repair. And...

Right, right. I know what skills to use, and how much repairs would cost. What I'm asking is how much MDC would be repaired if it's the player specifically doing the repairs, not them hiring someone to do it. Unless Blood Samel is referring to how much it would cost in raw materials to repair stuff....

Repairing MDC

This is probably a bit of a dumb question, but I still need to ask. The thing is, they're going to be effectively on their own for the duration of the adventure, with ...

Cold's "With My Mind" is a good one I've discovered recently. You could call it "The Psychic Song" and the name would fit like a glove. Anyone who played that uncelebrated classic Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy would recognize it instantly.

I rather liked the way my GM handled it. It made us level fairly quickly, but not so quickly that the game felt...

I actually play a mutant hyena as my regular character. Granted, all we did was take a Wolf variant of the regular Dog Boy... But still, he's been really fun to play.

Also, mutant lemurs. But then I suppose you could just use the Monkey Boy from Lone Star as a template for that.

My guy's got a PS of like 35, so he's sort of the official pack mule of the party when we go away from our EPC. So he carries about three dozen or more e-clips in a haversack and in his normal backpack, with about six of those actually out and on his person, and one in the gun.

This is probably a bit of a newbie-ish question, but do you still halve your strike bonus when making a pulse shot?
