I guess what really want is something that just keeps me guessing. I don't know what's in the dark cellar, what's around the next corner, if something is following my character...

Becky, it depends on whether or not you're looking to GM or looking to play a psychic. If it's the latter, the main book is great. I do use secret societies, but I tend to create my own as opposed to using anything with a historical or real world precedence. I've even done an FBI version based on the X-files. It's whatver works best for the players and the concept of the story we're trying to tell.
