Official RIFTS Paper Miniatures
Okay, now that there are six sets done for the Palladium Fantasy Paper minis, Kev's given me the go-ahead to develop some for RIFTS as well.
Unlike the fantasy minis that come 24-28 in a package at $5.99, RIFTS Paper Minis are probably going to be more like 12-14 in a package for $2.99 a set.
My sig-pic is from the preview image of the art for Set 1: Adventurers, which comes with a male and female mini for each of the following classes: Body Fixer, City Rat, Cyber Doc, Rogue Scholar, Rogue Scientist, Vagabond and Wilderness Scout. Right now I'm working up sets 2 and 3, which will be Coalition troops, Old Style Deadboys in Set 2 and New Style in Set 3.
If you check out the cover of Rifter 69, you'll see that I've put together a passable Glitterboy armor suit; This will be included at proper scale with one of the later Men At Arms sets, but other suits of power armor are not going to be a priority for me as their design is far more time consuming than characters.
Right now my plan is to cover the base classes from RIFTS Ultimate Edition before branching out into D-Bees and other character types;
All of the minis are at 28mm scale, and each package will come with two styles; they can all be folded in a-frame configuration or t-frame configuration, and one version will have a black outline around the images, allowing a t-frame mini to be trimmed to the silhouette of the figure. T-frame is the intended style and as such all minis are provided with a textured base (that adds some heft and balance to them when they're printed on card stock).
Take a look HERE for some photos of minis I had at GenCon to get an idea of their scale and how they go together; Note that these images include some I did for a Phase World game, but those are not quite on the radar yet.
The free sample from the Palladium Fantasy line can be picked up HERE.

My plans for a full sized Great Horned Dragon in Palladium Fantasy have been shelved due to the complex engineering necessary to make a ten inch wingspan stay together.
That said, smaller hatchling dragons can probably be done on the smaller scale without extra work, so there will be a Dragon set before I'm finished with the RUE classes.

Re: Official RIFTS Paper Miniatures
Hey can we get 3d top heavy female characters like they do for Macho women with guns? The "front" side of the paper mini is a little taller to allow for three more folds around the chest area. With the top of both sides glued together they're top heavy. Hmm, never mind that works for a comedy setting that is making a ironic commentary on sexist stereotypes. It would be just plain sexist in Rifts. Okay so scratch that idea.

Which R:UE Dragon Hatchling is that in the preview pic? It looks to me like the dragon picture from the original Rifts Main Book.

You mean the cover of Rifter 69? That was intended to represent the essence of the character classes from the first edition of RIFTS, so yes, it was designed to be like the Kevin Siembieda drawing of a Hatchling Dragon from that book. Just as the Vagabond was a direct homage to his drawing for that class.

Instead of doing it with a 10 inch wingspan, why not do it with wings folded against the body or partly expanded? That should make it easier, yes?
LOVE the previews so far, can't wait for them to come out (and find a place to buy them).

Yeah, I'm working out the kinks on the dragon.
And all Palladium Paper Minis will be sold where the existing Palladium Fantasy sets are listed, in Palladium's .pdf catalog at DrivethruRPG.com and it's sister site, RPGNow.com (European site).

Re: Official RIFTS Paper Miniatures
With the news about Savage RIFTS and it's ease of use with minis, I'm going to put some extra effort into getting the first 4 or 5 sets of RIFTS paper minis ready to go by the time it is released. I'll post updates here as I go.

Re: Official RIFTS Paper Miniatures
Any progress on the Rifts Paper Miniatures?
A request for a Figure Flats came up in the discussion for the Savage Rifts kickstarter, and I could have sworn there were a couple of these sets done. Apparently they never made it to DriveThruRPG. Since there is some interest, might be time to get those published!

Re: Official RIFTS Paper Miniatures
I redid the Deadboys, and those and the Adventurers are done and waiting for Wayne to go up; I'm about done with Men at Arms, and have about half a set each of Magic Users and Psychics. Yesterday I did the bulk of the work building an NG-Samson, and I've already got a CS SAMAS and a Glitterboy finished.
So progress is being made, they should start to hit the store very soon.
Also, tri-fold flats are included, and at some point later this year I intend to add them to the existing Palladium Fantasy sets at no additional charge. Here's a free sample of what my tri-folds look like.
Adventurers art preview
Deadboys art [preview
There is some color shifting in the Deadboys (because of the lightness of the guns a few are holding), but at one inch high, it won't be noticeable.

Well, as I do paper minis for all of my commissioned characters, technically I have; I did this one earlier this year: http://fav.me/d9kzvmw with some Air Force armor in there too, and this one last September: http://fav.me/d9601wo
As to doing a set for sale, I'm not opposed to it, but it's not a priority at the moment. I'm almost finished with a set of Magic Users (just need approval on the last two of 14 minis), and I'm about 5 Dog Boys away from finishing Psychics & Dog Boys. After that it's a set of Power Armor, of which I have already completed the Glitterboy and SAMAS, and almost finished the NG-Samson, but I haven't nailed down what other suits will go into it.
On top of all that I'm working on a massive commissioned piece of a gaming group with like 15 original characters and several bad-guy minions in it, and another secret project that's really eating my time.
I'm also a father of three kids who are all in sports (Softball and Baseball tournaments almost every weekend) and I have a 40 hour a week day job.
Oh, and I've committed to running three adventures based around my ideas for a revised Tombs of Gersidi at this years GenCon, and have yet to do any work on them, other than conceptualize the characters and a general in my head outline.
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to make the doughnuts!
