Star Wars and Warhammer 40k... thought it was a short lived part of the overall campaign.

Simple answer; YES
Detailed answer; I'm 41 years old and have read / watched sci-fi from 1940's era to present day along with comics & manga since I was 3 years old. Do the math.
There ARE gaps in my sci-fi learning, but not much... so what inspired me? See first answer.

Good answer, same with me but I am a decade older. I am someone who has seen every movie mentioned in the song 'Science Fiction Double Feature', I know what F.A.B. from Thunderbirds means. I remember the old Japanese 'Starman' movies.

not really run many games, but when i write stuff for it and branstorm, i draw on babylon 5, star trek, star wars, battlestar galactica (new and old), as well as stuff like stargate, firefly, 2001/2010, outland, etc.
as well as tons of scifi novels and comics.

The Clones are coming you shall all be replaced, but who is to say you have not been replaced already.

Soon my army oc clones and winged-monkies will rule the world but first, must .......
I may debate canon and RAW, but the games I run are highly house ruled. So I am not debating for how I play but about how the system works as written.

I haven't run any campaigns in PW but some food for thought might be any of the Stainless Steel Rat books for planet hopping over-the-top crime without leaving corpses. David Drake novels for ultramodern warfare campaigns. Saberhagan for alien invasions.

The only PW game I ever ran was inspired by the movie "The Ice Pirates". A blast, even when it went completely off the rails.

Re: What Sci-fi inspired your Phase world,s games?
My last one clearly had a Farscape Vibe ... Prisoner's with nearly nothing in common becoming the crew of a ship, who's only goal is to stay alive, and evade their old captors ... and sometimes herass the hell out of them.
Re: What Sci-fi inspired your Phase world,s games?
I had an older 3G campaign that was kind of like what if the Old Republic went on a 40k style Great Crusade, with clone troopers fighting orks in place of marines. That had clear influences. I ran in campaign around the turn of the millennium that was Farscape/Star Wars inspired, and another also fairly long ago that was more Star Warsy. Both of those prematurely ended in massive explosions.
My current 3G game, I would say, is more it's own thing than most other 3G I've either ran, or ran in. I still on rare ocassion use races from Star Wars or Star Trek. But the latest one is very... Rifty, for lack of a better word. Lot's of rifting and dimension jumping, splugorth fighting. I guess I am inspired by Lovecraft though, when adding in some Splugorth links or mysterious demons. There are some NPCs in there inspired by Regular Show too, now that I think about it.
