If you want a nice change, run a campaign where your players are the Bugs.
It was fun because I didn't have to stifle the normal player/ character over-interaction, one telling another what he should do with his powers, because Bugs have radio/ telepathy.

Wouldn't it make more sense to make a bunch of one shots that just happen to use the same rules (and make sure that really happens not just a hypey sell phrase) and that can be used as source books for each other?
That way you can get both the completists AND the stand aloners and make ALL the $$.

I agree that the crab is limited on powers. The only really neat one that I can think of at the moment is that crabs actually have little round lobster tails that they keep tucked up tight underneath them. Number of limbs of Arachnids
Spiders and scorpions have 10 legs like the crab does! Don't believe me? visit a pet shop. Does that mean that the web spinneret and web shooter powers should include 10 spinnerets instead of 8?

Just curious, is it just RPG material that's taboo. These forums have lots of movie conversion references and I think Paramount and the like are even more protective of their property.
