Re: Playing's Women
For our first foray into HU, my players rolled everything randomly, including gender. Two of them got female though only one plays with any regularity. So far I haven't seen any noteworthy change in his playstyle. However, I intend to throw in scenarios that call their gender into play to see how th...

Re: Fictional City Names
That's good imaginative thinking there, bathawk, and imo the right way to come up with a good city name. The only thing that feels wrong about that is, well, I've lived in Wisconsin all the twenty-something years of my life; and the only place that I can think of with the word "cove" in it...

Thanks all for the suggestions. I took them all under consideration and got the GM's Guide and TMNT. Just briefly looking through the GM's Guide has already helped me find things I've wanted to learn. TMNT I got partially for nostalgia (one of the first short-lived but very memorable campaigns I pla...

Thanks Malakai for the tip. I bought the book, and it should work real well. Two of our players will be employed at the local military base. Our game is taking place in Puerto Seguro, CA replacing the location of San Diego and altering the landscape to suit our purpose. Puerto Seguro is Spanish for Safe Port, as we wanted to stick with the theme for West Coast cities.

What I want to know is how you determine how much money he makes. Our PCs need to cover their personal expenses and pay for mission costs somehow, and they certainly don't get paid for their hero duties. If there's no official determination of how much our heroes can get paid, I'll have to come up w...

Re: Which do you find more difficult?
I always tend to find playing dumb or socially inept characters difficult. It's hard when you can figure things out while your character has to keep a blank stare, and then when you want to point things out to your team mates but can't...that can be hard. Also, when your character isn't good with pe...

Thanks for the input guys. I'm sure I'll have more rules questions, but what I'm wondering about now is what are considered the best/most important HU books for a GM and his group to have? Currently I have the main HU book (2004 printing--is this considered HU2 that people refer to?) and Powers Unli...

Would the physical abilities I'd ignore include the 1/2 speed penalty for coming from a low-grav world? I kinda thought that since the bionics were built on the alien world, they would inherit the same effects that my character would. What I mean is, the bionics of course worked normally--had the sa...

New GM/Player questions; Bionics and others
Hello all, I am relatively new to Heroes Unlimited and Palladium games in general (I'm used to the D20 system). Our group recently decided to give HU a try, and I'll be co-GMing the game with one of the other players (we'll switch off for different adventures, but collaborate for world-influencing d...

Okay, well, I suppose applying the penalties for Shooting Wild sounds like a reasonable guess. Still, it would be nice to have something official. Also, do off-hand penalties apply to anything on the left arm/hand, or only to weapons actually held in the off-hand. In other words, if I mount my Resin...

I believe the reason no one has bothered to create a sheet for Splicers is because it would be so extremely complex. Each class has so many details that needed to be kept track of. You'd need several sheets just for a Host Armor. The problem with using another game's sheet is that none of them cover...

I gotta say no. I don't think it's a stupid question, since I see your logic; but I really don't think that would work. As for MD weapons not being MD in the hands of a "normal" human, lets look at the rest of the Rifts multiverse that Splicers is but a single planet of. On talking in a HA, I can think of a few instances when you'd need to talk to someone not in their own HA. I'm just full of questions. One major drawback of the Parasitic Host Armor and some of the others is their lack of a mouth. Does this mean they can't talk? I know they can use their Bio-Comms to talk between others with a Bio-Comm, but do they still have an aparatus to project their voice to normal ...

Walking through a Ghost Town
I'm curious about how a person could walk through a Ghost Town. The book says that if you don't attract any attention, the drones won't be able to figure out you're a real human. But if they do figure it out, you're in trouble. Here's the part that troubles me. There's no way an un-armored human can...
