Re: Robotech ships versus the Three Galaxies
An important thing to remember is that we are discussing a game based on a cartoon. So we are taking a fictional construct and making a further fictional construct around it to make it accessible and fun for interactive play. As a result, there will need to be changes based on making the game fun a...

Re: Post Refit Garfish
personally i'm not convinced it's a refit. as in, i don't think that they took old Garfish's and rebuilt them. there are enough changes to the hull shape and size (it is slightly wider) that i beleive these were new builds, a new sub-class. If RT.com (old site, mecha comparison page) and AotSC didn...

the tristar carries a lot less mecha though, and i'd imagine that after that minute to minute and a half of fire the missiles would have to go silent to enable reloading from main storage. actually the RPG write up for the Tristar has 4 banks of 10 reflex warhead LRM's , as well as 2 banks of 10 even larger reflex warhead missiles . the 2 banks of 40 SRM's are not the only missiles it has. each of the 8 banks of missiles can volley themselves off entirely within 15 seconds, have 2-4 ...

Re: Robotech ships versus the Three Galaxies
Yea, The Ship rules suck, and i highly doubt we will get really good ones. And I do agree I think most players have a hard time visualizing the mere size of these vessels. But I also think the Animation of robotech/macross messed this up too. I mean we see this huge city inside the SDF-1 and the siz...

I tend to just use the large Ships as story line, and back ground. the math is nice but In a fast pace game at the table, i see it as slowing the game down.

Here is my out take on Robotech. As a series I loved it as a Kid, I enjoy the show as an adult, and ignore the shadow chronicles altogether. I like the fact that the Haydonites do the same thing. we have been discussing. really? where is the proof in that? You fold into orbit with a rather large rock and by the time the Invid can react its hitting the ground.
