The SDF-4 does have similar engines in the back of its cannon and in front of the command tower. Who knows what Tommy was thinking, it might split apart somewhat like the Macross Colony vessels?

The Cyclones are pretty cool. I think they look like Rick and Miriya. Their armor does appear to have Zentreadi influences while the Cyclones look to have Invid influences.

That's cool, its on a number of video content platforms now. Is it the original 1985 set (Legacy) or the 2004? remastered, extended version (Protoculture)? On at least one video site Manga's listings imply its the original while its actually the remastered, extended edition.
