Re: Armors and Armor Rating
15th-century armor weighed around 60ish lbs or 27 kilos, whereas 16th century, the armor you speak of weighed around 93-100 lbs depending on vestments. This is discounting for weapons and shields which would add an additional 7-10 lbs to the affair in total. As a veteran who wore Flak combat armor i...

Re: Armors and Armor Rating
What are you talking about? The whole purpose of armour is to protect the wearer. It was not decorative clothing. You are not near as evasive with a suit of plate mail on as you are with say leather. Thus as a target, you are easier to hit. Not sure why that does not make sense. Less mobility = muc...

Re: Armors and Armor Rating
I like the way another system handles it. Armor does nothing as far as making you harder to hit. If anything it makes you easier to hit. Also a longsword or short sword, crossbow bolt will have no problem getting through a breastplate if it is thrust. It will pass through it like a knife through a t...

Hmmm, you are right! I guess it has been awhile since I last peered at them. Just started cracking them open again, tired of D&D, cannot get folks to bite on Hackmaster so I feel like PFRPG is a good middle ground for crunch and fantasy fun. Thanks

So what is going to happen with 1st ed products revision?
I am just curious if any plans are on the table to take from PFRPG 4-11 to 2nd edition? I know its not impossible to convert yourself but I would rather have it official like so its all megaversal.
Thanks for any info

Palladium Office and visitation
I have a stupid question probably. As big a fan as I have been of Palladium (my sagging book shelves attest to this), I have never been able to attend a convention or any of the meetups that have been held at Palladium over the years. Being handicapped kind of throws a monkey wrench in a lot of thin...

Pre order question
So with heroes of humanity shipping i noticed something that has now given me a question. I went ahead and decided to preorder 3 more books and put them all onthe same ticket. It posted the fee per book and the fee for shipping. Since I now realize that palladium does not charge until they ship the ...

Wow great information guys. Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to help me understand things. Rifts character creation
Okay, for the first time I am running a rifts game. I have been feverishly reading up on things but for some reason I find the character creation rules in the ultimate rifts guide to be a little confusing in terms of placement. I am sure my questions are in there somewhere answered, but I am having ...

Re: Question for all the Robotech RPG tactics fans
I've been a veteran of miniature games for over 25 years, and tend to disagree with most of what I'm seeing here. The game, as many miniatures games are, are not for the inexperienced. You need basic modeling skills to put the figures together. Yes, the fact that the VF-1S head is two halves instea...

Re: Please Make the Next Set of Miniatures Easier to assembl
I offered to paint my cousin's set up as I do a ton of hobbyist Army Painter for GW products as well as FFG and just Bones minis. I normally thoroughly enjoy painting miniatures but these have been a complete nightmare. I have put together full scale models with tons of fiddly bits but mercy half th...

Well I have been stumbling with the Dungeon Designer stuff I bought. I think I am getting to old for this stuff. I just do not understand half the stuff I am looking at. I am shelving this project until such a time as A) one of my children figures out how to use the software and explains it to my ol...

I am trying to figure out what starting S.D.C. Hardware characters get. Bit the bullet and got CC3 DD3 CD3 and the fractal map bundle. Now for the huge learning curve. Got about 173 rooms detailed out so far, and I have been doing rough hand sketches so the first level and 2nd levels are mostly done. I am gonna give myself a week or so to learn this new software though.

Re: Palladium Megadungeon
Hmm... something like this would call for a collection of tactical maps. I've occasionally wanted to try my hand at that. So far I am writing out the surrounding outside environs, the town of Barumruth and specific NPC's on the surface side. I have a very light bones done for the inside, but so far...

I do like the concept, xandar2000. And Palladium is sorely lacking in big dungeon scenarios. (Published, anyway.) Re: Palladium Megadungeon
If I may make a humble suggestion sir, change "foot note" in the first line to something like 'event.' The Elf-Dwarf war is much, much more than a foot note, more like a major defining event, that shaped the Palladium World as we know it. I'll see if I can read over it again later when I ...

Just for fun, I will post the intro text at the beginning since its not really giving any nuts and bolts away. Please critique away!!!! It can only help me refine this project. The Elf/Dwarf War has always been a pretty big historical event in the Palladium Fantasy setting. It pitted two of the most...

Major Kobolds Cities in the Old Kingdom? Attention Staff pls
As I work on my Megadungeons project, I am trying to gather as many canon references as I can. To this end I have been reading as much as I can but I am missing a bunch of Rifters etc so I dont want to trod over any toes on stuff that might have been published already. I am looking for Kobold Kingdo...

Palladium Megadungeon
Like a lot of us, I cut my teeth on a 1st and 2nd edition of another game back in the early 80's. One aspect of this game that I always loved was the idea of the megadungeon. a certain set of Ruins Under a mountain for instance provided my gaming group with well over 2 years worth of related quests....

Returning player/GM to Palladium
I, like many of you, was an avid gamer during the late 80's early 90's of palladium products. I ran several Robotech campaigns. quite a few TMNT campaigns and I gobbled up rifts products even though I was never able to find a group to game with due to my being in the military. Now, at 40 years old, ...

Man what an amazing way to introduce players to the most simple yet poignant aspects of Rifts. Not only that but it totally reflects the flavor of Rifts on both counts. Now if I could only get people to give PB stuff a try out here in colorado!
