Is a boomgun covered in the glitter material?

I don't believe so.

of course it is. how logical would it be to design an entire powered armour system that is more or less immune to lasers if you equip it with a primary weapon system that is still vulnerable to them? that would be like buying a wetsuit and scuba system to go swimming and not brining a waterproof watch.*sigh*

I'm not seeing any notes in the GB's description that says the boom gun is prohibited from enjoying the laser resistance the rest of the power armor enjoys. So, yea, it's shiny.

I agree, it is shiny.

All the pics show the gun is shiny also, and descriptions say the GB has only the shiny armor and not a mixture of armor types so the gun has to have the same shiny armor as the rest of the GB, etc...

When shopping for replacement BoomGuns, maybe you can have cheaper replacements that neglect the special armor....Otherwise, presume original equipment is all chromed...

Yes, it's shiny - both in the physical aspect, and the figurative Firefly aspect.

You want proof it's shiny, look at the colored illustrations of the GB. The one that Palladium is selling as a poster shows it has the Laser Reflective material And I do agree if you buy an after market or refurbished Boom-Gun it should be cheaper without the LR material, after the books say that stuff is expensive.

There are those out there that think that pictures are not canon (I am not one of them). For some reason, those people NEED to see it in written text, and since it does not say one way or another in any book off the top of my head, just be prepared for retaliation from the rules lawyers.

But you got my vote. Pictures clearly show the boom gun glittery.

I agree that Rifts art cannot always be taken as canon, but in an instance where the whole power armour suit is laser resistant, and the rules make no mention of the boom gun not being so, it's safe to assume that the boom gun is made out of the same material.
