Ideas for Alternate History After the Bomb?

I got idea for a Alternate History that is a Combo of HU/AoB,150 Meteors hit 1954,s Earth,50 of them is a size Titanic,25 hit Asia,5 hit Europe.10 hit Africa,5 hit North America and 5 Hit South America.
Meteors are the souce of Humans Mutants and Animal Mutants.

After watching Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, I've been thinking that setting would make for an awesome alternate history.

Setting basics: Sometime by the 23rd century, animals have mutated to become anthropomorphic creatures known as "mutes". Most mutes rose up against their human oppressors, forcing the majority of the human race to live in underground cities called burrows. There are also "Megas", which are animals that have mutated to become gigantic six legged (usually) versions of their original selves.

It's not that much different from the original setting except for the inclusion of Mega-Mutes, "mutes" don't normally trust or associate with humans, and mutes don't normally work well with those of other species.
