Power Synergy: Power Channeling and Strength

Unread post by AlanGunhouse »

Do damage bonuses from combat maneuvers and physical strength add to those from Power Channeling. For Example, a character with Unbreakable Bones or Nightstalking gets a damage bonus, does it stack?

If you're looking for something like that, maybe take Energy Fists.

I was simply trying to figure out which or two powers better fit a character.

Power channeling is kinda meh overall, at least when it comes to some of the other moves. A power punch is nice, but costing 4 attacks and not scaling as you level is weird.

Especially given that every move does scale with level.

yeah, I mean it could stand a rewrite or something, hell, even a super energy expulsion style

I'd totally be down for that! :D Time to draw one up

Well actually, HU as a whole could use a rewrite up to at least RUE standards.

I, for example, tend to have 4 levels of powers not just 2. Level 1 are "Special Effects", level 2 are "Minor Powers" level 3 are "Main Powers" and level 4 are "Major Powers". I tend to use a purchase system saying that a power of each level is worth twice that of the previous level, and that a power can be increased with experience to a power of the next higher level.

For Example, Strength. The "Special Effect" level is Extraordinary Strength, Minor level is Superhuman, and Major level is Supernatural.

I would also use a different system for generating skills, something like what Dead Reign had for pre-apocalypse skills. After all, most people should have normal skills for their daily lives (unless they are skill based characters).
