Magnet size

Unread post by Alpha 11 »

I've heard and seen some people using really small magnets on their mini's. I'd like to use some myself, but don't know which size. Does anyone here on the boards know the right size?

I know Phaze had some ideas on this, maybe we can get him to post. :)

You can get hundreds of 'rare earth magnets' on ebay for a couple of dollars. I'd look at the 1mm x 2mm and 1mm x 3mm ones.

You'll also want a 'pin vise', a little hand drill, and an appropriately sized bit. Allows for fine control when drilling a tiny bit into these figures/pieces.

If you want to reduce issues with polarities, you can use a magnet in one side and a small piece of metal (clipping from a thin nail, pin, paper clip, etc) on the other.

There are some very good guides to be found on Youtube and Google that go further into detail.
