Scale is it truly 1/285?

Unread post by jedi078 »

Ok so for those who have actually got their hands on the exclusive minis, and for Palladium staff who have the prototypes is it possible to see how some of the pieces look when placed next to a 1/285 scale mini of a modern day jet, tank, or other military vehicle?

Standing flat-footed, a VF-1 Valkyrie should be almost exactly 44.5mm (1.75") tall at 1:285 scale.

Just going on the pic of the VF-1J next to those WH40K minis, it looks like the scale's about right... those regular Astartes are ~28mm.

Hey Kryptt,

Just on a lark, could you measure that VF-1J (excluding the base)? I'm curious to see how close they got to correct scaling.

Is that Russian aircraft a SU-37 Terminator?

Thanks Seto.

The reason I posed this question is that I want to get 1/285 scale minis of conventional vehicles but don't want to end up getting them only to find that the RT tactics minis are not truly in a 1/285 scale.

pretty sure it's a 33 actually.. the 34 has a side by side seating arrangement for the cockpit, resulting in a wider egg/platypusnose appearance. the 33 is the carrier model with canards and front/back seating with a narrow nose.

and the 37 used the base frame of a 33, just without the folding wings and with greatly improved avionics.

I'm just going by what the guy has on the link. Still looks good enough for RRT. :)
