Werebeasts and supernaturality

Unread post by Axelmania »

Dark Conversions...
99 "predators of supernatural origin" + "double damage to the supernatural things"
100 "supernatural predator" + "other supernatural creatures"

Creature/Predator/Thing may not be "Being" exactly, but these all seem like hyponyms of Being?

On the other hand, pages 57/71 of Mystic Russia by Kevin Siembieda list them as Woodland Spirits, and 56 says "all are creatures of magic". Of course, 57 also says "Woodland Spirits are minor Mega-damage Creatures of Magic" so it might be referring to some unknown MDC variant of Werebeast (separate from the Spirit Wold / Man Wolf who are listed separately) and not the HP variant we know from the conversion book?

Where this is important is for certain cases of supernaturals / CoMs being treated differently. For example the Night Prince on page 151 of Dark Conversions:
take double damage from the attacks and Talents of the Nightbane and physical attacks from other supernatural beings.
Creatures of magic and magic weapons and spells all inflict their usual damage.

Steve Trustrum also referred to them as creatures of magic when talking about how Conversion Book inspired Tribes of the Moon. I think they were originally listed as CoM in the PRPG as well.
