Matthew Clements goes Hollywood

Matthew Clements goes Hollywood

We have been so crazy busy and so much has been going on, that I haven’t had the time to tell you guys and gals about Matthew Clements’ quest to become a screenwriter or his trek to Hollywood.

Matthew is a talented writer who joined the Palladium Staff last August after a long internship in the Spring of 2011. He has been a huge help, has written some awesome Rifts® material which will be seeing print soon (Rifts® Black Market, Rifts® Northern Gun One & Two, Rifts® Antarctica), plus he has contributed to other works and he’s got 3-4 other secret Palladium projects in the works for the rest of the year.

However, this talented writer’s true dream is to be a screenwriter. A dream I’m trying to help Matthew realize by letting him quit his staff position and go freelance for Palladium while he actively pursues a film career. In fact, I helped arrange some meetings for him in Hollywood and he has been in Los Angeles the past 3-4 weeks making connections and pitching a half dozen movie scripts.

As much as I miss having Matthew here at Palladium full time, I support his decision with my whole heart and encouraged him to take this leap. After all, I know what it is like to realize your dreams – I’ve been living mine for 31 years and counting – and if I can help a talented guy like Matthew Clements realize his – I’m happy to do so.

Besides, Matt plans to be popping into the office, lending a hand when he can and continuing to write books for Palladium on a freelance basis.

Matthew comes back home to Michigan this week sometime, and I’m excited to hear all about his trip. Of course, writing for film and television is a tough business to break into and is likely to take time, a lot of hard work and probably moving out to California. Everyone at Palladium Books wishes Matthew great success.

Sincerely,
