the greatest damage in a gunshot wound is not necessarily
caused by the bullet/buckshot (Caveat to that statement being
obviously a hit to certain areas' no matter what can and will
cause death) but by hydrostatic shock. Hydrostatic shock is
the result of and caused by a wave of kinetic energy that
spreads out from the point of impact through the cells. This wave
causes the cell membrane to rupture like a water balloon. That's how
you can get descriptions of entry wounds "the size of a fist" and
exit wounds "the size of a pie tin". If you could stop the shock wave
from "popping" the cell membrane you could decrease and or
limit the amount of damage caused by the shot.
The purchase and combination of all three serves to reinforce the individual cell walls
but does not hinder or interfere with normal cell function or replication.
Said reinforcement stops and negates any and all
hydrostatic shock waves from even occurring.
The benefit is that any type of piercing or penetrating attack i.e. stabbing or gunshot
will do damage to the S.D.C. only, no H.P. damage at all. And
reduces M.D. damage from these attacks by 1/4.
