I tend to presume that you're almost never going to be that far from some sort of base. essentially every single member of every single OCC is issued gear that cannot function without the nutrient bath, by default. even the ones that get host armour and warmounts get body armour and handheld weapons as part of their regular equipment. this all points to having access to a base most of the time... likely not 100% of the time, but still, most of the time.

but sure, I suppose you could have some sort of plant that grows healing supplies. certainly, we know for a fact that the resistance does have biotech healing items that are incredibly effective in rapidly healing serious injuries, and they are evidently not very hard to make because they're quite inexpensive. I would personally tend to imagine them as a sort of moss-like plant which you peel off of a rock or something like that, personally.
