Thoughts of Steam

Unread post by Talon Starblade »

Hi folks. I'm not sure if it's my memory jumbling up different games, settings, wishful thinking or just early dementia setting in, but has there been any Rifter articles that did something like a "Steam-Punk" setting/dimension? If so, which one? My Rifter cheat-sheet only goes up to about issue 62.

I've been pondering a potential article (or three) in regards to such a setting and some related tech and works.

Would anyone be interested if there isn't?

Yes!!!! Please work a Steampunk Setting.
As long part of the article(s) link into the other Palladium realms.
I hate it when my mind wonders,
Because I have no idea what it will bring back with it.

I fully intend to include tie-ins to other realms, including some very specific mentions and specialized details.

Will it be set between 1865 to 1915?

Well, the work-up I'm developing is going to be an independant dimension, but as to most of the look and feel, the overall answer is, "Yes." =)

I did a setting with a Steampunk theme for PFRPG which I posted in that forum. It also appears in the Black Vault Wiki, which I can give you a link to. http://wiki.thedeificnmi.com/index.php?title=Kh%27ron
Other than that, I am unaware of anything appearing on these boards or in any of the Rifters or official material.

I'd thought about a general idea for muzzle loading firearms & artillery. Basically as a way to set musket combat, so you could play adventures set from the 1500s to the mid 1800s. (Napoleonic Wars with Spies & mysterious Oriental Martial Arts as Britain & France pry open the Far East?)
