Elemental related book/Rifter issue

Hey so does anyone remember what book featured people who symbiotically merged with elementals so the elementals could attempt to understand and experience life as a mortal? I vaguely remember seeing something like that but the name escapes me.

Sounds like the Yaganar in Sovietski book, pg. 73

Not exactly what you said you were looking for, but it comes pretty close.

Yes! That was what I was looking for, thanks!

No problem. I did a big search for material covering the Elemental Planes a few years back and there really isn't much so it wasn't hard to find.
