Is it really necessary to have the servers reset each & every night? Couldn't this just be done one a week?

Or to set it to do it's work about 3:30 AM EST...that way it does not interfere with the nightly games?
Which the latest (the hunt) runs till about midnight PST (3 AM EST).

Not sure what you are talking about.

Please give the time in EST as to when this "reset" you mention happens.

I see you posted when you would like it to happen, but I need to know when it currently happens in EST.

It might be something beyond Palladium's control though. And is it the chatroom that "resets" or the entire forums? Does this happen EVERY night? Every Monday night? etc..

Every night around midnight Central for the forums. I'm not really sure when it does it on the chatrooms.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it usually takes about 10 minutes before I can get back onto the forums.

Every night about 10:04-10:08 PM PST (so 1:04-1:08 AM EST) there is a time when (most) everyone gets booted ether to the nexus or out of the Chat rooms. It started about August of last year. A short while after GT/Nada was having problems staying logged into the chats. Trouble as in he was being logged in and out about 40 times per minute and it being posted in the chat window. Sittingbull was having similar trouble last week when Jefffar was in the chats.

And how do you both know it is the boards "resetting"? Do you then have to actually "log in" to the forums themselves? or the "chats"?

When getting kicked all the way out of the chats the log in screen comes up.

Those of us using the chatroom at that time refer to it as the 1 AM Purge, it happens every night, and while the purge is going on, neither the chatroom nor the forums are available

How long does this "purge" last when it happens?

Usually around 10 minutes until everyone is able to have a stable connection again.

That is not exactly informative.

Comment: Your Local Lurker. THAT'S the Reality.....

Email: Chronos47@gmail.com
about 1 AM easter between 2-10 minutes, can't browse active forums, can't browse my posts, can't browse new posts or unanswered. I can still use the forum home page as it doesn't sort or search any thing, just has them listed.

In regards to chat, it boots everyone for 2-10 minutes depending on how it feels. Its not a huge trouble but can disrrupt games (players not coming back) and also wipes the chat log of course because we were disconnected. not sure if it puts a gap in the logs on your end or not.

Edit: i was under the impression that it was a maintainance thing sort of like a memory dump. to avoid hours of down time once a week. if both could be avoided that would be great :)
