What's the difference between first and second edition? I've heard good things about the world.

the character creation is different for one.. when it was moved into 2e, it was more streamlined to work with a universal rules set closer to RIFTS. There is a ton of topics here you can find comparing 1e vs 2e.
If you are interested and have some time, I have some videos on my youtube (link in signature) that goes through character creation of 1e and character creation of 2e. I did them for my group and a few other people who had asked me, they seemed to like it. I take the approach of you no know nothing about Fantasy.

2nd ed PF brought PF into the HU standard of format for the Hand to hand areas & updated them over what was in HU1 and even what was in RMB1. And PF2 updated the char classes so they were updated versions of the RMB1 formats.
As such it made crossovers between the PB games easier.

I say what the classes ARE even if the books mislabel them, so get over it.

Mostly I write out exactly what I mean, then sometimes get even more finicky.

Comment: My comments do not necessarily represent the views of Palladium Books.
Flippantly, 1st edition is AD&D 1e with some house rules, and 2e is Rifts with medieval technology.

This thread in the fantasy section goes further into it, but I think my summary is essentially true.
