Fantasy Flight Games and Steve Jackson Games are a couple of the latest game companies to announce price increases of TWENTY PERCENT (20%) of the cost of their games. And they aren’t alone. It seems like most of the industry is raising prices by 20%. They cite the rising cost of paper (up 10-12% this year) and the high cost of gasoline which is passed along to manufacturers by shipping companies (UPS to common carrier trucking), to increased utility bills and even trash pickup.
The increased costs are real, but Palladium Books® will NOT be raising the prices of its books in 2008.
We know that EVERYONE is feeling the cash crunch, the high price of gas, and rising cost of food, goods and heating everywhere. We understand what it means to have to stretch your dollar. We’ve struggled through our own Crisis of Treachery and the problems born of it. It’s hard, but Palladium Books® will hold the line on role-playing game prices through 2008 and into 2009, for as long as we can.
Palladium will revisit the issue of increasing cover prices at the start of the new year, but we hope to keep our current price structure or only raise the cost of our RPG books a dollar or two. However, we don’t know what the future holds, so you may want to get the books you’ve been thinking about before they might go up in price. Also take advantage of Palladium’s special offers.
The sales last only three nights from Friday to midnight Sunday and this is the last one.
Think Christmas, birthday gifts, and other special occasions coming up to take advantage of these incredible offers.
To make your life easy, order the one item and the bonus item is shipped with it automatically. No extra paperwork for you to fill out.

Kevin, Wayne, and Alex have been busy working on three books simultaneously: Dead Reign™ (Zombie RPG), Robotech® The Masters Saga and The Rifter® #44, as well as lining up our next batch of books: Dyval™, Dimensional Outbreak™, Heroes of the Megaverse®, Mysteries of Magic™, Nightbane® sourcebook and Warpath: Urban Jungle™. Also prepping for GallowsCon, October 11, 2008.
All the writing for the Macross Saga™ sourcebook is DONE.
We are waiting for approvals and changes from Harmony Gold. As soon as we get those text files back, we can layout and send the book in for printing! Still shooting for an October release. Next week, hard working Jason Marker gets back to work on the Masters Saga.
From what we’ve seen of the artwork (wow!), have heard from Kevin (more wow), and the text we’ve seen . . . Dead Reign™ is going to be epic, terrifying, surprising and a blast to play. Talk about it being the Zombie Apocalypse!
The interior artwork is finished, the cover is fantastic, and 60% of the book is written and going through final edit. Barring any unexpected delays, this book will be out in time for Halloween. We should have a proof copy to see (or sell?) at GallowsCon and we suspect one the games Kevin is running will be Dead Reign™.
The dead have risen and it would seem to be the end of the world.
Civilization crumbles in a matter of days as hundreds of millions of people die and rise as the walking dead. The hundreds of millions of people who fall to the zombies also rise to join the growing legions of undead. Then the world goes silent.
You are on your own. The army is MIA. There is no government. No television, radio or Internet. No media, cell phones or communications of any kind. Cities and towns have gone dark, and zombies fill the streets.
Death cults have risen promising protection from the walking dead. Retro-Savages have forsaken technology and sacrifice the living to the zombies in hopes of bringing an end to the nightmare.
Brave human survivors refuse to lie down and die! They struggle to forge safe havens away from the cities, rescue other survivors and battle the walking dead without respite. And the risen dead? The zombies? For now, at least the planet is theirs. The dead reign.
The Macross sourcebook is a toy chest packed with the mecha, vehicles, weapons and characters that made Robotech® famous. Valkyries, Destroids, ground vehicles, aircraft, spacecraft, weapons, Zentraedi soldiers, Zentraedi mecha, alien invaders, heroes, villains and more.
The first batches of new artwork are in and look great! Apollo Okamura is working on the cover design and all of Palladium’s artists have been busy working on the entirely new art for The Masters Saga™ sourcebook. Everything is moving along nicely on that front.
Never before revealed mecha designs, stats and information about Earth’s fighting forces and the invading Robotech Masters. Artwork has been assigned and writing is half done.
The Rifter® is your doorway to unlimited imagination and numerous Palladium role-playing worlds. It offers new heroes, powers, weapons, magic and adventure for your games. It presents new villains, monsters and dangers to battle, and new ideas to consider.
You can’t play the Macross or Masters Saga sourcebooks without this core rule book.
The Deluxe Hardcover Edition has been completely redone and laid out as if it were a new title. It is filled with additional artwork throughout, offers superior reproduction of toned artwork, better paper stock, larger type-face, and some additional text, including two Haydonite spaceships, three UEEF ships, space combat rules and a handful of additional vehicles.
Undoubtedly destined to be a collector’s item.
The 8½ x 11, Collector’s “Gold” Hardcover Edition of Robotech® looks fantastic! Kevin Siembieda has personally glued in all of the signed and numbered, color signature sheets himself. The cover is rich, classy and impressive. Everyone who has seen it, wants one!

You might be wondering, is it really worth going to a one day event? The answer is a resounding YES, when it’s GallowsCon!
Last year’s GallowsCon was one of the most fun conventions Palladium has ever attended! Yes, that’s EVER ATTENDED. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. The events are fun. The people are silly and kind. In fact, the atmosphere and pure gaming fun factor very much reminded us of Palladium’s very own Open House.
This year, Palladium hopes to make GallowsCon even more fun by bringing more Palladium guests, running more Palladium gaming events and kicking up the gaming action several notches.
In fact, Kevin Siembieda hopes to make GallowsCon our surrogate 2008 Palladium Open House. A taste of the fun you can expect at our place in 2009. That means Kevin will be running games at GallowsCon, chatting with fans, signing books, selling stuff, and bringing a bunch of “Palladium Guys” to also run games and have fun. We hope a lot of Palladium fans come and join the festivities. Heck, it’s the only convention in 2008 where Kevin will be running games.
- Kevin Siembieda – Publisher, Writer, Game Designer, will be Game Mastering 2-3 RPG events. He’s kicking around several different ideas and hasn’t decided if all his gaming events will be the same or each different. All will be fun.
- Wayne Smith – Editor of The Rifter®.
- James Brown – Game Master Supreme running 2 events.
- Lonnie Langston – Game Master running 2 events.
- Glen Evans – Freelance Writer (tentative guest).
- Brandon Aten – Freelance Writer & G.M. (tentative guest).
- Taylor White – Freelance Writer (tentative guest).
- And we hope to add several others to the list. How about it, ladies and gents? Make us look good. They actually think having Palladium creators as guests will attract more gamers. Help!
Other GallowsCon Events:
- A super-cool charity raffle. And I mean super-cool. Last year’s raffle had something like 40 really great prizes, from swords, toys, model kits and game items to Palladium gold editions (which we’ll be donating again). Not one clunker in the batch, and the proceeds all go to a good cause.
- Miniature gaming.
- Board games.
- CCG games.
Everyone in the Chicago, Fort Wayne, Valparaiso, and Indianapolis area should join the fun! Please pre-register so we know how many folks we need to accommodate with gaming events. And tell ‘em Palladium sent ya.
Seriously, GallowsCon is an undiscovered gem. Total fun. Please join us for gaming fun, one-on-one conversation, autographs, photo-ops and more. Start making plans now and order soon!
